It makes playing against better players so much less depressing because theres always a chance you could make the comeback, even if viciously undeserved
My favorite thing in Smash is doing something smart or flashy so naturally it's almost subconscious, and then noticing the feeling of improvement that gives. If I can do something that feels that advanced so naturally, it tells me that all the time I put into this game has been rewarded and I've truly gotten better as a player, and that feeling is the greatest high this game has to offer.
I've been playing Minecraft for the large majority of my life and when I first got introduced to smash I want to be somebody that ever enjoy having a game with so 'crouching' was my sign of peace and friendship
That's great! I grew up on Pokemon and my parents got me Starfox Zero for the WiiU, and by then I had never played smash. I'm a super hardcore Pokemon and Starfox fan, and when I found out that Brawl and Wiiu bith existed, I had to try them both when I saw they're rosters. One of the best parts of smash is the nostalgia from all the characters and their origins.
I love it when you play online and you find a random stranger that is willing to do random bs with you (example: I was playing a corrin ditto and all we did was do the pin jump back and forth in sync)
My favorite thing about smash bros is its wide ass skill range. You can have a lot of fun with picking up the game for the first time, and you can also have fun at the top level. There are so many games out there that it's not fun if you don't know how to play optimally, but I can have fun with anyone when I'm playing this game because it can be fun in so many ways. Thanks for the awesome video btw.
My absolute favorite thing in smash is kinda hard to explain : it's what I would call a "God moment". I'm not a really good player y'a know, but when I manage to get a sick 0-death or to completly outsmart my opponent for a whole stock by reading him and just playing my character perfectly, it's feels AWESOME ! And if the opponent is just smiling, admiting his defeat or being a good player in general (just like you said), it's even greater ! 👍😁 Also really cool vid continue doing those...
Don't stress it, I have been playing for over 750 hours and still haven't cracked elite yet. I get so close, but then cheese it up right at the gates. Right now I am at 7,400,000 and am hoping I finally make it in. Just keep working on your character and you will get better with time.
Finding a main is an amazing feeling. I remember first playing jiggs in this game and not being able to put the character down. Other charcacters feel "off" to me. I wish she had a spike, but rest is close enough.
Honestly I’m grateful for getting my friends into smash ultimate. It makes the game so much more fun, especially when I’m getting destroyed from my constant years of practice of online play
Going for the suicide is always satisfying. Especially if it's a risky off stage "you aren't coming back if you fail" if in last stock. I don't think I've ever popped off more than when my Toon Link was getting bodied by Byleth, then I got a reverse three stock ending with a down air hailmary spike.
I just looooove hitting my main's strong moves. The way the opponent stops in place just to later get blasted into oblivion is awesome. Also, the zoom in for the last stock makes it even better.
Banjo hit a lot of these boxes for me. Finding a character I connect with enough to main. Satisfying spike when it connects (because you die if you screw up). Fast run speed for jab resets. Low percent kills with Egg Firing. Hard read kills with a well timed Wonderwing (as opposed to a poorly timed, easily punished one that people now expect). Another satisfying thing is getting a “well played” message right after a match online instead of the opponent just leaving.
I miss offline friendlies so much. There are few things as enjoyable as 10HP random smashdown. Also, related to your reflect / use character's item against them point, but as a Kirby main, there is NOTHING more satisfying than doing something stylish with someone's copy ability, especially if it's something the original owner can't do, or has to do differently. 2-framing Lucina with her own shieldbreaker, Ptooie combos, breaking a full shield with ArcThunder -> F-Smash, and throw combos into Charge Shot are particular favourites. I'm surprised a Ganon player didn't list "Tanking a hit with Super Armour and hitting back" though. I have more than a couple Warlock Punch kills as Kirby after reading a Wizard's Foot or getup attack (actually makes the failures worth it lol). Plus Hammer invincibility / super armour is always super satisfying if they connect. We all KO'd or broke a shield with Byleth's down B at least once, even if it is her worst move, but we ALL loved it. Related to the "respectful opponent" point is people who give you advice on how to beat their character. My first local, I got destroyed by an Ike who later was kind enough to give me some tips on how to force him to use moves other than Nair, and he was really chill about it too, not in a condescending way. My first ever Bowser Jr. and Duck Hunt matches were like that too because I had no idea how to fight the characters but they were both happy to hand out some quick MU tips afterwards. A lot of the character discords are like that too, in my experience.
Recently, my favorite thing to do has been going for Sephiroth spikes while I'm still on the stage. It feels so satisfying to watch as someone recovers, only to get spiked right before they grab the ledge
This is in no particular order by the way. 1. Hype announcements for new characters. The first fighters pass was boring me, and Min Min didnt help much. But it's the great announcements like Steve, King K. Rool, and Ridley that really get me excited. 2. Finding someone online playing your main, AND your alt, and then destroying them. I found a red alt Falco online, my main with my alt, and used my rage to low percent 3 stock them. 3. Hitting and awesome tech and punishing you opponent for it. My favorite example of this is a time where a ganondorf used up b on me below the ledge, and I teched it, jumped, and Falco down aired him straight to the shadow realm. 4. Hitting an unusual and rarely seen spike or kill. My favorite example of this is hitting the Falco, Fox, and Wolf side b spike.
I was so happy to see this when I got off work! Honestly, my personal favorite is the satisfaction of finally nailing a combo I've been practicing. My main is Isabelle, so this admittedly doesn't happen often, but that super satisfying moment of finally perfecting something you've worked hard on feels so great! (not as great as getting off a bad day of work and seeing your favorite youtuber posted, tho! ilu!)
i think one of the best things is hitting that really hard move that zooms in, such as falcon punch or warlock punch or KO punch (yes a lot of punches). They just feel really satisfying and even the game agrees with that sick and hype zoom in
Getting a 0-death, getting that hard combo you’ve practiced for hours, reading your opponent (hard/multiple times), getting a comeback and spiking your opponent with falcon’s up-tilt
Great video! It was like something out of pro guides. One thing I enjoy is when you accidentally KO your teammate, and they don't proceed to combo you in real life!
When you're down one (or two) stock(s) , but you hit the opponent with a flawless phase and win the match Man , i love those situations , it feels so rewarding.
One of my favorite things combines getting a reversal and winning a hard matchup, I love playing k rool and it’s sooo satisfying to win a hard matchup when ur getting outplayed 90% of the game. But when u r patient and find that ONE opening and take advantage >>>> also I love landing BIG moves (ganon up tilt, falcon punch, luigi down taunt), especially when they’re slow and impractical and totally unnecessary. Bonus points if u use one of those moves to call out ur opponents habit
The sheer amount of game modes and options. There's a near infinite amount of ways to play this game, and I love that weather I'm playing with friends who are skilled or scrubs there's a mode for everything and everyone to have fun with.
Despite one of the coolest things being the huge and varied roster with fighters from different platforms and series, I really like playing and watching "canon" and "reverse-canon" matchups. Mario vs Bowser, Link vs Ganon, and the reverse with like Mario vs Ganon, Link vs Bowser, etc. It's just cool to see the iconic heroes from a massive series fight eachothers iconic villains.
My two favourite things in Smash: - Hitting a Busta Wolf with Terry (just in general, but it's absolutely ECSTATIC when it kills) - Getting a Side-B Wii Fit spike. I know general spikes are on the list, but for me, a WFT main, getting the side-b spike is one of the most hype moments in a match.
My favourite things are: 10 picking my main 9 land a beautiful combo (such as Yoshi up tilt, up air ×4 with double jump, egg toss and forward air or up air, down air ×3, back air (only two tail hits) and forward (or down) smash and more with Yoshi...but mostly is satisfying down B shield break, spike with forward air after a combo and down air fully hitting) 8 jab locking with every character (that can) 7 seeing the opponent rage quit after he taunted you 6 being listened while asking for using a specific character (in my case Yoshi) 5 doing Yoshi dittos (more like fun) 4 making a massive comeback 3 returning your main after using everyone 2 finding good matches and both guys being happy with those wether you lose or win 1 main Yoshi (is satisfying af playing as him)
I really like finding people who play their characters in such different or refined ways. One time I found a DK Player that had kind of a Sword character/ Walling playstyle. I was so amazed at how creative and unusual it was, I got bodied for 30 mins in a row with a smile on my face the whole time :D.
Favourite things in this game; getting 5 PK fires in a row to forward smash at ledge than tea bagging, pichu down tilt to up tilt to lightning loop to thunder off stage, back throw to flare blitz with charizard killing opponent at zero and finally getting a ditto and showing you're the superior player of that character
Top 2 best things: - Ganondorf side-B suicide when you have a stock lead - Capt Falcon side-B spike offstage Opponents never expect those (unless you spam it) and almost never recover from them. Mmmmmmm! Bonus good thing: people who homie stock online when shit happens due to lag or sheer badluck.
My favourite thing is when you’re playing quick play and finally get matched into a respectful player that doesn’t only spam or camp. Basically whenever I see im up against a captain falcon it makes me so happy, idec if I lose, i just want to enjoy the match
Great List, although I would have included hitting super strong moves (Falcon Punch, Byleth's Axe, Warlock Punch etc...). Hitting those just always feels so hype to me.
I know this is from casual play, but it feels very satisfying when you hit a Final Smash in two or more players, or also hitting the Dragoon in the same way.
Random tidbit I want to share cuz of 5:51 "...if you're just spamming your reflector..." : Practicing against lvl 9 cpus is a good way to stop habit forming. The AI will detect repeated move uses and formulate around that by reading your inputs. It may not be the most human-reaction experience, but it will force you to stop spamming moves for effect
My favorite thing about Smash is building friendships, then almost destroying that friendship when you get a jv3 against them. (In truth playing with friends and watching others play it on RUclips are also some of my favorite things)
Here’s a good one: There’s a spirit in the game that basically turns a parry into a reflector, and hitting one of those projectile parries is just so satisfying
Time for my wholesome smash story! Last year I had a smash tournament in my school. I was so scared because there are so many people that seemed so good. What also worried me is that I didn’t really have a main, I just played characters who appealed to me. That’s not saying I wasn’t good, just didn’t play anybody specific. I tore through the qualification rounds with inkling and played Pichu in the from the quarter finals up. I had the best match of my life (whole other story) to win the quarter finals and made it to semi finals. Sadly my winning reign stopped there agains a really good link. I was devastated, can’t believe it’s was all this for nothing. Well I was wrong, everyone who made it to the semi-finals were in grade 12 and 11 while I was only in grade 9! The guy leading the tournament said to me, “Your the youngest one to make it this far, and when we leave, you’ll be the best in the school”. I knew I couldn’t stop so I kept training and finally picked up a main. I always keep in mind that I was the youngest to make it in the semi-finals, and that my winning reign didn’t stop, it was just the beginning!
I'd say some of my favorite things in smash is 1. bring back the match, like when you are at 1 stock and the opponent is a 3 and you still win. 2. If you manage to find someone online willing to give you a homie stock, I usually have massive respect for these guy's. I can't really think of anything else cause he pretty much covered everything, but yea those are some things I like about smash.
Maybe it's just because I'm a Terry main, but it feels SO FUCKING GOOD to ask if my opponent is okay. It's just funny. Getting a double Dtilt, into double jab, into Power Dunk, into a read, into an Ftilt, into Buster Wolf just feels good.
1. Winning a game on a flip-kick spike (every ZSS mains love that feeling) 2. Rematch someone who teabagged me, destroy him and then, not getting rematched because he understood how s**t he is at this game. 3. Getting kicked out of an online arena because I’m winning 4 games in a row. 4. Beating a K. Rool online. Sorry for people who play this character, but he’s literally carrying you. 5. Getting a new character when you just picked up the game. 6. Winning a ditto, because that means that you’re better than your opponent with the same character
One of my favorite things is when you do a suicide kill. I did it once with Dedede. I sucked up a Ganon player then walked off the stage. Another one of my favorite stories is when me and my brother decided to play Ness(My brother) and Lucas(Me) and battle each other. I took his last stock by knocking him off the stage, and when he used his up-B I jumped off and used Down-B to suck up his PK thunder.
My favourite thing in smash is probably comboing a heavy, Ganondorf and Bowser are probably the best for it but any heavy is still good. I can’t tell you how cool I feel when I’m facing a Ganondorf and I land my Isabelle combo and he ends up at like 60 to 70 percent afterwards, and especially since Isabelle has a really good combo starter, that being fishing rod down throw, it just feels really cool, and it feels even better if you’re able to land a spike off-stage to finish it off
Hard punishing somebody abusing a spammy option feels amazing. Kirby spamming up B? Roll behind as Luigi and shoryuken him to oblivion. Downright euphoric
As a Daisy-main, it´s soooo satisfying when you get one of her sick combos done! Once you did it, the enemy will have 60-70% already! And the best part, when you 0-death somebody with one combo!
Honestly my favorite thing about playing Smash Bros is training and amiibo you just feel like you have so much power in one single toy that no one can stop you
Another great feeling in smash is to find an online ditto and beating them. It’s just so satisfying to win as your main against someone else who plays your main.
My Top 10 things that feel good in Smash Ultimate 1. Doing a 0 death combo 2. Hitting a spike 3. Fighting good and respectable players online 4. New character reveals 5. Low tier upsets in tournament play 6. Playing with friends, in general 7. Hitting Falcon Punch, Warlock Punch, any hype move etc 8. Cool Kill screens 9. Disrespecting an opponent 10. Beating a tryhard player
I'd say one of my favorite things about this game, is that it's a crossover of all of my favorite game franchises. Mother, Final Fantasy, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, etc. I love it! It's just one big nostalgia trip for me!
Some of my favourite things in Smash Ultimate

My two favourite things in Smash:
- Hitting a Busta Wolf with Terry (just in general, but it's absolutely ECSTATIC when it kills)
- Getting a Side-B Wii Fit spike. I know general spikes are on the list, but for me, a WFT main, getting the side-b spike is one of the most hype moments in a match.
Hop's laugh in the background at 10:41 KILLED me 😂
My favourite things are:
10 picking my main
9 land a beautiful combo (such as Yoshi up tilt, up air ×4 with double jump, egg toss and forward air or up air, down air ×3, back air (only two tail hits) and forward (or down) smash and more with Yoshi...but mostly is satisfying down B shield break, spike with forward air after a combo and down air fully hitting)
8 jab locking with every character (that can)
7 seeing the opponent rage quit after he taunted you
6 being listened while asking for using a specific character (in my case Yoshi)
5 doing Yoshi dittos (more like fun)
4 making a massive comeback
3 returning your main after using everyone
2 finding good matches and both guys being happy with those wether you lose or win
1 main Yoshi (is satisfying af playing as him)
I really enjoy Multi hits, Spikes, hiting special Screen moves, Electricity moves and getting great combos, and yea playing offline
Pretty accurate list, I'd like to add Shieldbreak your opponent, escpecially if your character have a 10%-KO move
Top 2 best things:
- Ganondorf side-B suicide when you have a stock lead
- Capt Falcon side-B spike offstage
Opponents never expect those (unless you spam it) and almost never recover from them. Mmmmmmm!
Bonus good thing: people who homie stock online when shit happens due to lag or sheer badluck.
hopcat: teabags are annoying
me, a plant main: really? oh.
My favourite thing is when you’re playing quick play and finally get matched into a respectful player that doesn’t only spam or camp. Basically whenever I see im up against a captain falcon it makes me so happy, idec if I lose, i just want to enjoy the match
I've always thought the reveal trailers are just the pinnacle of life
Great List, although I would have included hitting super strong moves (Falcon Punch, Byleth's Axe, Warlock Punch etc...).
You know I say getting a final stock zoom in on a weak move like wolf’s side special is satisfying as fuck.
Here’s a good one:
There’s a spirit in the game that basically turns a parry into a reflector, and hitting one of those projectile parries is just so satisfying
The fact that characters like Greninja and Sheik are in the same game just goes to show how unique Smash is
I'd say some of my favorite things in smash is
1. bring back the match, like when you are at 1 stock and the opponent is a 3 and you still win.
When your friend says “OH YEAH?!” and then self destructs
1. Winning a game on a flip-kick spike (every ZSS mains love that feeling)
I can’t tell you how cool I feel when I’m facing a Ganondorf and I land my Isabelle combo and he ends up at like 60 to 70 percent afterwards, and especially since Isabelle has a really good combo starter, that being fishing rod down throw, it just feels really cool, and it feels even better if you’re able to land a spike off-stage to finish it off
Reflecting a gigaflare to kill at basically 0% is probably the most satisfying thing in Smash, if not the funniest.
My fav things
1:Beating people
2:Beating people
3:Beating people
4:Beating people
5:Beating people
Honestly my favorite thing about playing Smash Bros is training and amiibo you just feel like you have so much power in one single toy that no one can stop you
Another great feeling in smash is to find an online ditto and beating them. It’s just so satisfying to win as your main against someone else who plays your main.
My Top 10 things that feel good in Smash Ultimate
1. Doing a 0 death combo
2. Hitting a spike
3. Fighting good and respectable players online
4. New character reveals
5. Low tier upsets in tournament play
6. Playing with friends, in general
7. Hitting Falcon Punch, Warlock Punch, any hype move etc
8. Cool Kill screens
9. Disrespecting an opponent
10. Beating a tryhard player
My favorite thing is very specific, but it is hitting a limit cross slash in the blast zone.
I (cannot stress this enough) 100% agree with finding a main. I spent a year trying to find a good main and finally found one, and felt soo good
I'd say one of my favorite things about this game, is that it's a crossover of all of my favorite game franchises. Mother, Final Fantasy, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, etc. I love it! It's just one big nostalgia trip for me!
I love you hopcat!! I wish I could tell the others to stop saying Hopcat victory and other condescending words!! You're definitely the most genuine :)
1. Reading with a Smash Attack
2. Killing with Back-Air
3. Accidentally doing a combo by mashing
my favorite thing in smash is getting a set up just right like a zelda phantom to fair or an arc fire combo with robin, it feels really good
