The case and movement are the same as the NB1050-59a, which is about half the (retail) price, so half the price of the watch is the dial. Want one though ! However they can be bought at discount in Japan for ¥83,630 (retail price ¥126,500) at Yodobashi store. The NB1050-59a at the same store is ¥50,000 (retail ¥77,000). Both prices include 10% points so if you have a Yodobashi card then essentially the price is 10% less. An nb106012L for ¥75,000 (GBP£420) is an excellent price. All this information is as at March 2024.
Absolutely worth it. A hand crafted dial at this price point is ridiculous when you remember that Rolex and Omega use machine made dials almost exclusively.
Another home run! Beautiful watch, with a well executed in-depth review. I did not have this piece on my radar… and now, I believe it might not go away. I’m a sucker for pretty dials…
Great looking watch, what a dial! It really is time that Citizen simplified the naming system of their watches and released a broader range to the world market. They make far too many amazing watches that are not easily available to international watch enthusiasts.
@@TheGreektrojanBecause of how it's hand made, no two dials are exactly the same either. You only really see that with watches in the thousands of dollars range.
You can order the bracelet from the NB1050 by contacting the parts department of your local Citizen Service Center. Make sure you order a pair of springbars as well as the bracelet models have slightly shorter spring bar bodies than the strap models (NB1060). I got mine through the Canadian service Center for about $200 CAD. I bought a 1050 just before the 1060 came and needed both. Went for the white dial as it’s more dressy. The silver leaf really pops in bright lighting.
I think I might have read your comment somewhere else online, I distinctly remember someone discussing this exact method of getting hold of one. Fair play!
You are absolutely right, photo/video can't do the dial justice. If you went to Japan, this one is a no-brainer buy. I bought it for just ~470 USD in Bic Camera after tax-free and tourist discounts.

Good video! Some consumer advice regarding these watches, from being in Japan: The NB1050 series can be had at BIC Camera or Yodobashi for 40% off. I don't recall the situation for NB1060, though the overall impression I had was that if it wasn't a "premium" watch -- and the vast majority of Japanese watches, including Oceanus, aren't -- then 20-40% discount is the norm, especially after the first year of a model's introduction. As for The Citizen, it is considered premium and these two retailers are reluctant to provide a discount, although 10% or a tax-free concession for foreigners might happen there. I got my The Citizen at a Citizen factory outlet store, and it was an older model, so there was incentive to clear it out. So I got mine for 28% off. One last thing: About The Citizen, put on your eagle eyes and study their dials and features very well. I saw a model that looked like it had thin white lume on the indices, but under a loupe it was just painted. Similarly, indeces that look like they have black polish may just be painted black.
@@ImpulsiveWatches they are a little oricier than I usually spend but well worth it and they got options for 19mm Opt for spring bars and they’ll put them in the strap for you
I'm fairly sure the answer to that is that the rules for products to be sold in Japan are a lot more stringent than other countries, so the models have to meet higher standards and then cost more to produce. Bit depressing if that's accurate.

the backgrounds/filming locations really set this video apart, very well done

I've been fawning over this watch for a year, haha. I should just go ahead and pull the trigger. That dial is incredible!!!
As good as it looks in pictures and video it's even more stunning in person.
I bit the bullet about a month ago on this watch and it was 100% worth it in person.

Thanks for this, I've been weighing up what my next serious purchase might be and The Citizen is on the list, I'll take this into consideration
very good keep it up!
Love mine
Put it on an aqua strap from b&r bands
Will have a look at that, thanks for the info

Either that or a real warm brown looks fantastic

Still don't get the idea behind jdm only watches from seiko and Citizen

What is the maximum strap llength?
You're going to be on the very final holes if you have 6.5 inch wrists and it's a write off if you're getting towards 7.
Is the rotor noisy?
It's not bad, you'd never hear it in normal wear at any case.
Saat çok güzel ama rotör sadece tek bir yönde sarma yapıyor diğer tarafa döndüğünde saati kurmuyor
Need a black dial
I can’t get a good fit with a leather strap, either. Always too tight or too loose. I’ll be skipping this one
