It all starts with Mara. He is low-key one of the 5 worst owners in sports. He was the one who told McAdoo (remember him?) to bench Eli and allowed his head coach to get absolutely skewered in the media. He was the one who told his then-GM to draft Jones, when hardly anyone in the organization wanted him. And he was the the one who green-lit said contract, instead of franchising Jones and extending Saquon. Now they have a Bortles-like quarterback and have to reset yet again. The problem is Mara will tell whomever the GM is to draft Carson Beck, who is yet another stiff.

So, because I'm a nerd, I crunched some numbers. If you go back to 1994, which was the last date i could find with salary cap numbers in a nice column I could copy, the average percentage of the cap a super bowl winning qb has taken up is about 10%. That result includes 2 extreme outliers, Mahomes last season at 26% and Stafford in '21 at 25%. If you take those 2 out its about 8.5% Which means in the past 30 years the key to winning has pretty much always been to get a good QB young and win or get a vet and have a great team around them. Only 1 super bowl winning QB on that list was ever given a big contract before having won something and that was Stafford. Every other QB who had an even moderate salary had won a ring before they were given a pay raise, and again those salaries were still always relatively low. The idea that these teams have to pay huge salaries to players who have never won anything is insane.
I have been telling my dad (whos a life ling Giants fan) for years now, that Daniel Jones ain't the guy for the Giants and that he's fucking trash. He will make an excuse for him saying "He doesn't have a O line". He still defends him to this day which is wild.
The NY Giants have been painful to follow for over a decade. DJ is not a franchise qb, not even a solid starter, but a barely adequate backup, and that is being charitable. We are in year 6 of the DJ experiment. The idea that if only they just bring in one more player, this will finally be the year, is insane. You cannot fake the qb position. Either the guy has it or not. And you get a short window to show it or it is time to move on.
Don’t hate the player, hate the game…. this guy is probably laughing all the way to the bank if he’s so bad, but yet his team wanted to give him $40 million per year
What we keep seeing more of these days is with these overinflated record setting contracts is players play JUST well enough to earn a big contract and then either stop trying because they got their bag, or players that are JUST good enough to appear as if they are worth a big contract. However what is rarely mentioned here is basic human psychology and motivation. Once you guarantee a player 200+ million dollars, they have 0 motivation to ever try again. Or look at your all time favorite LeBron James who you LOVE to mock, he is a great example of this. He gets guaranteed contracts, and the requirement for these contracts? Absolutely nothing. One could argue in his early years he actually tried. But in an era where his contracts are guaranteed? We see him do the absolute minimum, except for last year where he went all in for that mid season tournament which had a big check for a prize. Guaranteed million dollar contracts are killing sports. Tie money to work and output, end guaranteed contracts. Make penalties severe. In the NBA, for every game to load manage, you lose 1 million dollars and I do not think such a price is extreme enough. Daniel Jones? I think he should be forced to repay 80% of his contract for failing to live up to his end of the bargain. Players of older days had to prove they were worth it, but now all a player has to do is get drafted(which admittedly requires a lot of work) and they are set for life. Giant's cover against Cleveland. 81% of the money is on Cleveland. Giant's cover.
Does anyone notice the Giants 3rd jersey is highly similar to the Canadiens jersey? Thoughts on that, Skap Attack?
I'm a fan of the New Jersey Devils, and I recognize we haven't been very well at all. Unfortunately, the New York Rangers have aged poorly for the last 30 years.
I have a feeling he’s here to stay till 2026, they’re definitely waiting for Arch
Idk how this bum pulled Kay Adams
You should do the Broncos franchise.
This was a surprise to absolutely NOBODY. We could all see that the dude was trash 2 seasons ago - now it’s like people finally woke up 😂😂
The Giants usually need a great defense to win a ring, but this clown is so bad that it hurts all other aspects of the team. Please, the Giants gotta get rid of this dude.
As a Texan fan, i wish yall leave Trevor alone. I like what they are doing in Jacksonville 😂
At least Trevor was good in College.
Trevor Lawrence has the girliest hair of ANY quarterback in NFL history
I always thought they should run Jones like Allen, a lot. If he dies, he dies.
Why anyone was high on a QB who played at DUKE is beyond me 😂. Maybe they thought Quarterback was a new position in basketball?
As a Eagles fan...wanna trade coaching staffs? My god...got the players but the coaching and playcalling is terrible...from the head coach to the Defensive Coordinator. I wont be surprised if we end up with the same record as you guys.
As a giants fan I agree, Jones has never been even good at any point his backups played better last year
Not defending Jones, but wheres the energy for Dak, the highest paid qb in the league playing for "americas team"?! Dude has been handed everything and cant get it done. Zeke was a top 5 rb for most of his career, dallas has always had a top defense, top ranked line, top ranked wrs. Jones has only had barkley.
Least dak throws touchdowns and takes his team to playoffs. Daniel jones sucks
@@larry7079 ok im not refuting that, but dak has played with waaaay better talent then jones. Thats not even debatable. So of course he should get them to the playoffs. Dak played with dez bryant, jason witten, amari cooper, elliot, brandin cooks, lamb, randle cobb just to name a few. The worst guy there is better then every wr the giants have had. Plus hes always had one of the best lines in the league and has always had a solid defense. DJ has had one of the worst lines in the league and one of the worst defenses. This is a failure by the giants organization not finding proper talent. Most of their draft picks dont even last in the league.
Dak has one only one more playoff win, then dj @larry7079
@colerainswaggify6387 yea man, i never thought jones was some stud. But its not like he walked into a great situation. Different coaches, shit line, no one to throw to. Dak on the other hand has been given everything, is expected to make the superbowl and is the heighest paid in the league. He should get skap attack video before jones imo.
This is what Daboll left Buffalo for 👍
I haven't watched my giants since jones got the contract
Oh....I did not realize Jones has been in the league 6 seasons. That's insane he is still with the Giants. That would never happen in Pittsburgh. You see what we did to Kenny 😂
@colerainswaggify6387 Lil Giants 🤣
Sad, but true....
This Giant's fan misses competent football.
I know close to nothing about the NFL so I don’t even know who Trevor Lawrence is, but he looks like “Sunshine” from Remember the Titans…. look at that flowing golden hair
Bro ain’t sugar coating with the title😂
daniel jones consistently has been a bottom 5 starting qb in the league, its unbelievable how much hes gonna make and continues to get chance after chance. now he has an elite weapon in malik nabers, and will still blow it. say what you want about trevor lawrence, might be overrated and not deserve that contract but hes still miles ahead of jones
Eli Manning...🥶💨...is so long ago...😶🌫️
bryce young is worse than daniel jones
Its hilarious that only now people are starting to realize this smdh
My Jags caught a stray.
I can’t believe we are worse off than the Giants.
@colerainswaggify6387 Naw. We are going to ruin Lawrence. Both our LT and RT are pushovers. No defense. No running game.
One good season, and the Giants were dumb enough to sign him to extention. Same with Trevor Lawerence,a slightly above average quarterback!
