Made this a few months ago from your post and got rave reviews from the family. Just enjoying a relaxing weekend morning, so, I’m back here to make it again!
I used chopped dates and toasted finely chopped pecans because I didn’t have almonds or an apple. It turned out great- particularly if you like pecan pie.
So funny you posted this today! I just made this for the first time this morning, it is so delicious, like all of your recipes! My kids didn’t love it, but I wasn’t upset about that..😉
Our breakfast cereal in winter was called fried oatmeal it is so good . Brown the old fashioned oats in so butter stirring very often a lot so they don’t burn ,when they are toasted really well add milk & water till thickened . oatmeal has cooked and tender add some half & half brown sugar, apples or pears, cranberries, pecans.
I love the piano ❤️

This is hit with 2 of my 4 kids ... I'll take it! I think it's a texture thing for the two that don't like it. So glad you like it!! 💕

Amy's right! The original recipe does call for some cinnamon. Go for it!
