before I got caught up in other projects in other games, I had this idea myself and was building onto archives. But nothing of this scale, I didn't have the time nor the PC capacity. Pc would probably explode, but I'll just have to see tbh.
Yeah, one of my first questions is how long after landing on the invisible landing pad does it take before you can see the city? And how long after that does it take for your computer to melt into slag?
If there was a way to bake all the composite parts of a 'building' into one single asset after making it, it would massively cut down on cpu resource hogging. However, it would also mean deleting the entire structure instead of editing it.
I made a mega city. Not this detailed but just as big and still working on it. I'm on ps5 and it handles it fine. takes a while to load for your friends but a PC should have a way easier time running it.
This is honestly what we need in nms. Would give a reason to actually explore planets to its entirety. Instead of looking for 5 min and leaving. This is my most requested feature. Randomly generated cities!! Hello games needs to see this asap!!
It would also be nice to have enemy outposts too. Corrupted sentinel outposts or even getting the chance to fight some gek, korvax, and vykeen on the ground
This is incredible. They HAVE to hire you. Imagine this kind of stuff in game. Cities and settlements, even the space anomaly being this detailed and fleshed out.
I have ALWAYS wanted the space anomaly to be filled with hotels and city like things as there is so much space along the walls and you cant even get there. Imagine taking a train from the main part to a potential rest of the city?
I definitely agree, the only thing i don't like about building in no man's sky is the lighting, it just looks bad And the 300u limit of the base station
@@MacEat This is with a mod or something. I saw so many parts that are simply unavailable in build mode. And, as you said, with the current limiters, there is no way we could build this.
How do we get the developers to see this? Cause holy imagine if we got randomly generated cities in game! Regardless, this is amazing stuff! :o Im actually stunlocked
while that would be awesome, unfortunately, old gen consoles wouldn't be able to handle these types of bases/cities. maybe they could after some optimization but idk
Bruh the consoles can barely handle an empty planet with no life or flora on it. Generating cities like this is an easy way to cut your game short since the console won't be able to play.
This is what NMS needs - some actual non-randomly generated cities that are hand crafted. I appreciate players creating their own but if they had proper cities, more players could do more in them than what they could do by visiting another player's creation, you know? Like being able to buy a building or an apartment or something, have an NPC shopkeeper that you employ etc etc
There have been a few flagship locations that players can travel to in the NMS universe like a fantasy castle but they're usually large scale farming operations empty of other players compared to the galactic hub that is the Anomaly. Visting one of these locations was the first time I encountered the BeatByte device. And you can always leave a message at Expedition way points
I was about to ask how you were building with freighter parts on a planet but then saw it was a mod you were using. This build is insane and I have absolutely no words it's so good!
It's 2033. You go to play your favorite old game, No Man's Sky. On your new save, traveling to the stars, you fly upon a planet and see this. You land; it is completely derelict. A civilization of settlers who abandoned the game long ago.
I said it before and ill say it again. No Mans Sky - Colony Update . Focused on being able to establish your own Colony on a planet. This update can include a revamp on the building mechanics. maybe a collaboration with the developers of city skylines could help a lot here.
Im always so upset that you can’t explore more of the space stations the only part we get to explore is the landing bay and the few people that work there but there is a giant colony that lives on each one
@@no.12fireman12 I jump from game to game too much to be able to stick with it long enough to create something that is videogame masterpiece like what you have shown in this video! We need that in game bare minimum drastically increase server cap and base building cap so thousands can visit or build thier own imagine having thousands of players thier on in this city or on other ones in the galaxy on a planet somewhere
Got super lucky just now. Found a collosal archive thst looked kinda odd, has flames and smoke coming from parts of it, i think some damaged machinery spawned on top of it somehow cuz ive never seen this before. But whats more, theres sn observatory, and a communication tower thingy right within view of it. Found a spot with a radon cloud and another mineral vein nearby to set up base on. Gonna make a small, spread out sort of a city i think.
I've tried to build a base like this, but after lighting out and logging back in the next day the entire base is like 20 feet higher than. before and it looks awful. It ruined my day and possed me off
almost a year ago, and i think HG should make this type of procedurally generated capital for some types of planets just like star wars, doesn't have to be crazy big and does have a decent population. also should have some vendors so that we can interact with npcs with various offerings.
WE should be able to do this with our settlements. Go from small humble beginnings, to flourishing cities! This would do extremely well in building those abandoned and destitute systems back up.
So, I saw one of the screenshots posted on steam a while ago. Still, my comment is this: I think it would be awesome to have the capacity to build late cities and use a 'flatten tool' to make the bulk of a city build smaller in size to reduce loading and such. It would allow for better fps and let us build potentially better cities. And also maybe do like Mojang does and (in a similar way) partner city creators to build a thing but contest style in a theme so the racial home worlds have explorable content? Don't mind me. Just spitballing deas here. Lol
NMS seems to be really bad at properly culling entities like it should, that's the main fps problem. If the devs can fix that, it should be easy to have cities of any size on planets.
It looks amazing. I wish Hello Games could've given us something like this on their own. Those trading posts, archives, and settlements in the vanilla game are underwhelming to say the least.
God i wish these naturally happened on planets and we could walk around talk to NPC, get quests, and drive around in on our vehicles. GTA-style lol.. imagine.
Did you go past the base part limit? Edit: Nevermind, I just had a look at the mod page for the mod that you used for this build and the other one. I had no idea that anything like this existed, let alone fully multiplayer compatible. More people have to know about this, this is absolutely insane like holy shit look at this build in the video. Really great job on this, your builds are absolutely mind-blowing and thank you so much for being the reason I know about the beyond base building mod.
It's basically the Freighter parts that's making this possible. The freighter parts can create entire buildings in just a few instances, saving a tooooon of object from network limit. Not to mention they are all vanilla parts so it doesn't break the game for any other players coming to see it. In fact you can actually do this without any mods, there are building permission glitches that allows you to build freighter parts on planet, and planet parts on freighters. They're just a heck of a lot harder to do compared to the mod.
Imagine if this becomes a trend and for the next few months we just establish entire cities on a network of planets in one galaxy.
One system where each planet is littered with unique cities would be so cool
Computers everywhere would explode
before I got caught up in other projects in other games, I had this idea myself and was building onto archives. But nothing of this scale, I didn't have the time nor the PC capacity. Pc would probably explode, but I'll just have to see tbh.
I can already count the frames
endgame for the galactic hub
Idk what’s more impressive. The insane build or the fact that your pc can run it
😂

i dont think thats how it works bro
The scientists room with the appearance modifier in the back gave me cyberpunk vibes, love this location for a base also.
It's the deep and complex NPC interaction that has me convinced that this is a living, breathing, thriving city!
I love seeing cities like this in-game. Such creativity, especially with the apartment at the beginning! It gives Night City a run for its money.
it's ridiculous the amount of potential the base builder provides. this is remarkable 👀

No man's sky city builds are so dystopically lonely. The use of statues to simulate beings is I Am Legend-esque is a very very sad and depressing way.
