Cha-am beach is a nice local beach. It’s not as nice as Hua Hin but it is very popular with the Thais that come here from Bangkok. It also has much better deals for food and logging. I made a few other videos from the area including one where I show a bit more of the town. If you want to see it here is a video.

Much prefer Cha-am to Hua-hin. So much more laid back, as you say. Safe to cycle, and a lot to see and do. E.g. Khao Nang Panthurat Forest Park, the little port with all its colourful fishing boats, the night markets

Cha-am has a lot of charm. I just passed through and missed the night market set up between north and south beaches on the waterfront. :( it gives me a reason to stop next time.

Cha am beach my mother-in-laws favourite, I only found it because of a family weekend away. We go every other trip now, love it so much we bought a plot of land 11 minutes drive from the beach, going to retire there with any luck. We have friends in Hua Hin & OK for the night Market, a few higher end restaurants & obviously tourists/expat bars, but couldn't live there, too many farang, too holiday resort, but nice for the odd day here & there.

A great place to retire. I also prefer here over Hua Hin and when possible I stay here now over it. I do like the sand at Hua Hin better but not enough to have to deal with the crowds and traffic to get there compared to Cha-am. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed the video. I will be going back through in a few months so let me know if there is something you would like to see.

What did you think of the drone clips in the video? I’ve been trying to do a few different things. The drone is also fun to fly.

@@endlessjourneytravels drone could enhance the video. Give the overview. It take some practice to make ‘em good and enhance the video. Not to much and not to little. Also movement of it. Music to choose could be tricky. Ok can also talk to the film. Continue to bring drone in when it give something to the video 👍🏻

@@JorgenD-original I’ve seen several of them. In the old days I would just go outside and start flying and figure it out. Now I have to pour over hours of videos to do something simple. Lol my old timers syndrome kicking in.

The beach will change shape again once all the construction at the southern end is complete. A small alteration such as sand removal or adding rocks on a beach completely alters sand movement in each tidal event. Your anology of things wrapped in banana leaves and now plastic is not correct. Thais are and always have been poor custodians of their land, look back to historical times when they destroyed their native forests for profit to other countries. The northern end of Cha am beach at the breakwater is black and disgusting with pollution washed from the roads after a road event. You didn’t film at the southern end as with your other vid on this area ? The southern end is more family orientated to the family Thai as it’s free in that you don’t have to pay for chairs or obliged to eat at a particular food outlet. The north is full on commercial. The southern end doesn’t have all the shops but everything you need is available including showers and toilets. It is being heavily developed so it may change. Thanks for your video

I didn’t have enough time that day to film all the way to the south. I mainly wanted to get a look at how the sea wall was progressing. Looks like it is almost all the way finished. I spent more time there on my last trip so I wanted to look more to the north. My next trip through I will do more to the south. I’m still trying to catch the gibbons in the forest park so I will be coming through again one of these days. Thanks as always for watching.

There is a monkey or two at the southern end of the beach that live in the resort and surrounding trees and on occasion comes down for a snack. You can enquire at the local cocktail bar etc.
