His Super Formula season showed he does not care about the experienced drivers. He went toe to toe with Tomoki Nojiri (and beat him in the champsionship) who won that championship 3 times already. Really wonder what he can do when he's in the same car as Max.
@@leongt1954 Total BS!! Gasly didnt win SF either, Nick Cassidy did, in his second year. It was Liam's rookie season in SF and he won on debut. He was top of the table or thereabouts all season, in his rookie year. He only really lost it in the last race of the season. Liam did the same in his rookie year in DTM. The first time Liam has ever raced tin-tops. Won on debut and was beating seasoned professionals that are DTM specialists, just like he did in SF. He also destroyed Alex Albon who was his Ferrari team mate. However, DTM hardcore tin-top racers couldnt handle a 19yr old rookie from openwheeler categories coming in and beating them and making them all look like amateurs. So, they literally had to steal the championship from him in the very last race, and the way they did that was something I have never seen in any form of motorsport. A total disgrace, courtesy of the Mercedes works team and Kelvin Van Der Linde. Liam has the determination speed and talent to be a future world champion, much more than Ralf Shumacher, You can quote me on that.
Liam has had to deal with older entitled drivers in , first the DTM, with SVL, the worst display of dirty driving ever , then his seasoned team mate in the Japanese super series, pushed him of track to stop him overtaking, causing Liam’s one and only major prang . Both costing him a series win .Now he has just a few races to prove he ,has what it takes, and apart from a competitive car , he has ! And the old guard can’t stand it 😤, GoLiam !!!🇳🇿
100%. Lawson has serious chops. Give him the RBR car and watch him deal to the "more experienced drivers". Hell, he's been doing it the VCARB so far and that things a tractor.
Every F1 driver who came to F1 and really wanted to achieve something and at the same time knew he had a real shot at it did present elbows like crazy when they came into F1.
Its been reported that Liam's gesture was out of extreme frustration with Checko following their later battle when Checko was infront and deliberately brake testing and divebombing to stay infront of a faster Lawson. Hope footage of this will emerge. If so, showing a finger in the heat of battle and then calmness in media interviews later shows maturiity.
Marko ticking off Lawson for the tussle with Perez - he looked like a dad ticking off his son for punching out a school bully - secretly pleased but for the sake of appearances, "you shouldn't really do things like that".
I really don't think it was just "for the sake of appeaerances", Perez was not doing great but he could have easilly scored a few extra points for the team, and even if it is too little too late for the constructors championship, I think that kind of fights with a teammate generates some doubt about promoting Liam to the main team with Verstappen.
@gastongarraza7391 Marko and Horner are only publicly ticking off Lawson to appease sponsors and their $ that Checko is currently (not for much longer?) bringing to RB. Privately, they'll be very satisfied with his performance and Pérez scrapping at the back is totally is own doing due to poor Q1 and penalty due to false starting position. In that RB he should have been in front 4 rows well ahead of Lawson
@@deveshd3555 Perez most likely is done, and so are his sponsors, his performance has been very bad for a top team. But Liam is auditioning right now for a seat in the main team, what if he gets promoted and has a similar fight with Verstappen for a lot more points? Do you really think that Marko or Horner would appreciate those kind of manuevers that could ruin one or both cars race? I really like his driving and I think he did an excellent job in Austin, but Mexico was bad, and not only he damaged Perez car, later he damaged his own against Colapinto... Liam should be smarter or he will be stuck with Tsunoda while another good driver is next to Verstapen.
@gastongarraza7391 Agree to extent his rough edges need smoothening, the incident with Colapinto was mutual clumsiness, but he is a quick learner so I believe he will emerge stronger for this. As a back marker he was strategically holding Norris and Sainz back enough to perhaps give Verstappen a chance to close the gap yet not incur 4 blue flags and a penalty ... so it seems he can be a team player, support his partner when needed, and is wise to situations as they unfold. But early days still and I share your sentiments of caution and need to tread carefully in next few races in order to make good on his potential
I like Checo, but it’s time for him to go. He’s not really in a position to give any other driver advice with his poor performance. Agree with your analysis!
Liam in the better RB car will do very well - has to cope with a certain amount of indignity currently having to race others in faster cars - Colapinto and his car seems very good too so Yuki and Albon will be the next to be humbled by these two new guys
Totally agree with your view on it. Perez and Alonso have been good drivers in their time but are on the downward slide and are struggling to adapt to the reality of this. The stewards and Perez/Alonso's teams didn't agree with their view on the incidents as there were no investigations or penalties handed out. The Colapinto incident was also ruled in Liam's favour yet there are some people out there trying to throw him under the bus for the lot! Liam deserves a shot at F1 next year. It would be great to see Colapinto there also, clear out the deadwood.
"they-race-me-too-hard-itis" is a very apt description of their moaning. also, props to kimi and vettel knowing when to leave the sport, them in their position could've hung on to whatever seats that were on the table every time "silly season" comes around.
I agree Liam Lawson is worth a place in next year's F1, but I would rather not see him in Red Bull - I don't think they treat their drivers well at all, & would hate to see his F1 future wrecked.
The Lawson Colapinto incident just looked a bit clumsy from both of them in my opinion but they’re both in their first races even if their performances make them look otherwise😂 Could have done without a penalty or five seconds but ten is also fine I guess, to stay consistent (which is what they should be more than anything else) it was justified Great vid, loving the content atm!

He's clearly riding his luck going 6-1 vs Yuki where 3 were from strategy, 3 were DNF/DNS.. Meanwhile they boot out Daniel who had issues in 18/25 of his races and still showed a higher peak than anyone in the midfield with his P5 and two P4 qualis.
To finish first, first you must finish. Yuki caused the lap 1 accident, he repeated checo mistake from last year, going 3 wide on the outside leading into the first corner. The whole field swerves left leading into the corner and he took the space that albon needed when the rest of the field also swerved left. In the last 2 races vs lawson, yuki has crashed out twice, spun out once and had a 5 second penalty. Neither yuki or checo can handle the pressure
