My goodness! Obviously the Lord is at work. Everyone's testimony looks different. It took me a year of "Hearing" the Word. 16 years later I'm on fire for Him and spreading His Gospel! Many thanks to Ray Comfort for providing clarity. Pray for Kelsey! I think he's almost there!!!!
But is it obvious? That's a premature statement unless You know all things....Or could he be he's being used By Satan As a role model For people too think they can only come part way but yet be saved??? Something to keep in mind satan owns the fence. But once you're in, you can't be lost.🤗 What we can do is pray for him like you mentioned 😊
Using the phrase, "My goodness" in a vain manner, as you did, is taking God's name in vain. Please look up the origin of the phrase. "Good" or "Goodness" used in most expressions of exclamation are a substitute for "God". I realize that a huge number of people, even Christians, do not realize this, and don't hold it against anyone who doesn't know. But once you know, and realize you are taking God's name in vain, you need to stop using those words, as best as you possibly can, and show true respect for God and be a good example towards other Christians and to the world by not using God's name in place of a cuss word or as a throw-away phrase.
@Justin Gary First of all, with regard to "My goodness", what does the Bible say? Mark 10:18 "And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone."" Isaiah 64:6 "And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags" So, as a Christian, if we talk about "My goodness", then it must be referring to God, because we have no goodness aside from God's Holy Spirit who dwells in us. Then, what does man have to say about "My goodness"? From Wiktionary: "my goodness Etymology Minced oath for my God." From Collins: "goodness EXCLAMATION 4. a euphemism for God" So, whether you take God's Word, or man's word, they both say it means God, when used as such an exclamation. Other phrases containing Goodness or Good: Good Grief = Good God Goodness Gracious = Good God / Grace of God Now, if your child gets a perfect score on an exam, and you exclaim to your child, "Good!" or "Oh, good!" I would take that as meaning "Good job!", and thus not be any reference to God. Though just to be safe, it might be better to simply say "Good job!" to avoid any potential confusion, but that's just my personal opinion. If you talk about "this fruit has a lot of vitamin goodness", then obviously that's not referring to God, but then it's not an exclamation either, and so we wouldn't normally expect words not in exclamations to be minced. What about "My Word!"? In the same vein as "My Goodness!", what does the Bible say? John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." So, to my ears, it sounds like someone is trying to use that also as an alternate way of taking God's name in vain. So in summary, absolutely, in my opinion, "My Goodness!" is taking God's name in vain, if you know what the original meaning/origin of the phrase is and/or you know what the Bible says about "goodness".
I gave my Evidence Study Bible to a man in my Church who does jail & prison ministry... He says that it's a powerful tool in helping guys with different beliefs, to answer their questions and point them to the Real God, Jesus of Nazareth. It's a wonderful asset to have!!!
Ray,thank you for being my mentor, before I became a street preacher I dreamt of you 3times preaching with you to people. And 2times of those dreams we were actually killed by a mob.anyway am in Africa Botswana, and your words have mentored me for the past 5years. I thank The Lord for your teachings.
Father, please call and Kelsey, his family, all involved in the movie, everyone who watches it and anyone seeing this video. Let your glorious will be done Lord. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Kelsey Grammer needs to repent, and stop riding the fence. The world loves their perks and worldly connections too much. Not seeing that God's connection is eternal life in the Way, the Truth, and Life Itself.
Back in '79-80 Bob Dylan's song was on the radio - Everybody's Gotta Serve Somebody - well I knew I wasn't serving God but I didn't know what to do! I became rather terrified of going to hell but didn't know how not to. Long story short, God sent laborers my way for the next number of months. A word here and there. Somebody invited me to church in Oceanside california and the preacher lady talked about Jesus... Oh Wow it's JESUS!!! HE is how we get to heaven!!! Other folks probably said it to me as well, but it finally clicked. And it was a song on the radio that began the search ❤🔥 I'm excited for Kelsey because the Lord has surely begun a stirring in him and it will click ❤🔥Jesus is wonderful💖
I sure pray Mr. Kelsey has come to The Lord, I pray Dear Lord that You would open the eyes ears and heart of this young man. Lord You are Mighty Good to us guilty sinners, thank You! Love y'all ~John
Praise God . Something has happened. When you said "so you can judge yourself", it's like a different level of peace comes to this approach to evangelism. I've always been very grateful for it, but sometimes I've been a little troubled or uncomfortable with juding them. Now I heard you say "so you can judge yourself" so sincerly something has lifted. Thank you always for your relentless faithfulness to sharing the Gospel. God bless us all. Father please save this seeker. In Jesus name. Amen.
@@AndrewL4me The best approach is how, Jesus, approached sinners. With the moral law. Pricking the heart, the conscience is necessary. Yes, there has to be a level of faith and, God, is at work to lead that person. But, having factual evidence of, Jesus, living amongst us is crucial as well. We have that evidence of, Jesus,' tomb and eye witness accounts... Historians and Archeologists (even secular) have proven these findings. Everything lines up with the Bible. Of course not all people need "evidence." Like myself, I have had an unwavering faith in, God's, existence since I was a tiny little girl around 3 to 5 years old. Even in my rebellious years (which was a long time) I still had faith in, God, even though I didn't think, or care what, Jesus, did for me. I didn't fully comprehend, Jesus,' finished work on the Cross, and I loved my sin too much. Finally, one day, a sentence spoken to me by my paternal grandparents is what brought me to, Christ, something that my dad told them of what I did/said as a kid. So, for my personal salvation, I didn't need evidence. However, I hear a lot of other Christians say, they needed the evidence. And to prove, God's, existence... We just have to open our eyes and look all around us, His existence is everywhere. What I think about, is how perfectly our bodies were made to do all these things that couldn't happen by accident. Like our digestive system, it's well designed. Everything is so well designed in nature. The fact that fruits and veggies have all these vitamins and minerals that we just so happen to need, it's eye opening when you truly think about it.
@@AndrewL4me there is plenty of evidence to prove the existence of God. Faith does not refer to God's existence, it refers to trusting in the God you know exists already. Faith in the Lord is faith that He will never lie and has promised to save you from your sins by imputing His own righteousness to you. "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse." Romans 1:18-20 I agree with you, faith does not come around by way of evidence. "for it [the gospel] is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes" Romans 1:16 However your statement that there is no demonstrable evidence for God's existence is purely incorrect, and does corroborate either special revelation or natural revelation. Please rethink such a stance and think of what honors the Lord and what He has revealed of Himself in nature.
@@AndrewL4me you know what's funny? Your initial comment seemed like a Christian, yet your following responses are spoken like an atheist. Of course my response is going to be different for either. I think plenty of evidence has been presented at various times on Living Waters, seeing as you're on it perhaps you should browse their videos. If you really want to get into it, let us lay some groundwork first and we will convene back here after a while. What standard are morals measured against? What makes evil, evil? What makes good, good?
Mr. Kay, as Ray Comfort rightfully points out in this and most of his videos, taking God's name in vain is a violation of God's commandment. Please, do not continue to take God's name in vain by saying, "Oh my goodness!", which is equivalent to saying "Oh my God!".
Never ceases to amaze me to see that no matter the intelligence and rationality of someone, God is the one who chooses who is saved and when. Praying God will save Corey, your Will be done Father.
I like Kelsey Grammar. If he is saved he's just a baby. God is at work in each of us and we aren't all in the same place of growth. He was at a Pastor Greg Laurie service and didn't come to the stage or appear on camera. He was towards the back and nobody would have known he was there if Pastor Laurie hadn't happened to mention it in passing while talking about the movie. I guess we'll see if there is any fruit in his life moving into the future, after the hype over the movie has faded.
Ray when you said "How could anyone do such a movie and not come to faith" I immediately thought of Judas Iscariot; thinking you were going to mention him
Thank you, Ray for your witness and your ministry. There are something’s that have “value” and other things that have “eternal significance!” We should examine what we’re doing daily to make sure our Father is glorified! Praise Jesus for the opportunity
Man, as a police officer who watches these on duty, (don't tell my sgt), those tones you use to bleep out the foulness are helpful for my spirit but MAN do they raise my blood pressure. I keep thinking dispatch is dropping emergency tones! lol
He is either still searching or still being sanctified. I know for myself, i didn't know what taking the Lord's name in vain was until I watched Ray's videos. Sounds ridiculous but its true. Either way, praying for Kelsey. So much love and respect for you, Ray and Living Waters Ministries!
We don’t watch much TV or movies any more. I think the last movie I seen was Forrest Gump. Yes , Forrest Gump. Another great eye opener for this young man. Now it’s all up to that seed to grow. Good job Mr. Comfort. Luke 9:62
Ray Comfort adds works to the free gift of salvation. That makes what he presents as the gospel and makes it a false gospel. He is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Jesus paid the full penalty for our sins on the cross. Believe the gospel, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Don’t add or take away from the gospel. After salvation, study God’s word and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth. Be blessed. ✝️❤️
What are you saying? What does Ray add? God's word says repentance leads to salvation. 2 Corinthians 7:9-10 - 10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death Acts 3:19 Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, Jesus says to repent. Matthew 4:17 ESV From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
What I don't under is why didn't Ray Comfort ask this young man if he wanted to repent then and there?! I mean, this man was receptive to the gospel... the most he could say is "no, not right now."
Ugh! There is no "clicking up to your left" on these videos. I'd love to see some of the videos suggested but there is no link in the video interface, nor is there one in the description. Loved the rest of it. Sorry, just really wanted to see that other video too!
I doubt Kelsey has had his come to Jesus moment as some would call it, I heard him on a interview about this movie where he said he prayed to God or whoever to give him a meaningful role, the next day he was called. Who calls God whoever when God is the sovereign being who made heaven and earth and everything on it? I myself know of God and whom he is, not perfectly, but enough to know He is not a whoever!!!
Before I was saved I prayed 8n the "general direction of God" because I didn't know Him. I asked God "whoever you are, reveal yourself to me, let me know you." Now that I know Christ, I trust that the Father heard my genuine prayer and drew me to the Son, and the Son gave me access to the Father, and I have the Holy Spirit in me. In other words, a vague prayer was a genuine first step towards God.
I have prayed for him and the whole cast. If you watch Frasier at the end of a certain episode , Bull dog pays tender homage to this dragon that appears on the paint job of this car that drove through the wall. There were many homages to the Spirit of the air on that series. If a person did not notice the new birth, being made a new Holy creature, then they must not have been. I knew when I wasn't, even though I meant my confession and Lordship declaration, was baptized, etc, and I knew when I was, after I finally hated my life in this world and gave it up and only asked God to take some if the pain away. He took it all away, weight was lifted, all scars and lustful desires gone, and total freedom and amazing peace, and later , of course, attacks of the enemy. It's a night and day difference. Not to mention Jesus called it a birth not a journey or process, it is the harvest.
@@RonanTheAccuser92 I found the same interview online which wasn't edited, and he's taking God's name in vain there. Ray correctly bleeped that part out as to not make the video to be more offensive to believers.
Hey Ray, why don’t you ask the people do you believe that Jesus died was buried in rose again, people will either believe that Jesus Christ is the resurrection in the life, or they won’t
Hi there Ray, hope you’re doing well. I am glad you are going to Pastor Jack Hibbs church this Sunday. He is very good on the true doctrine of the pre-tribulation rapture. He knows that Jesus is coming soon for His bride! However, he is not telling his flock that to divorce and remarry is to be committing ongoing legalized adultery. This is an important step for people to take in getting them ready for the rapture but many aren’t willing to forsake their sin and follow Christ wholeheartedly. You are very good on evangelism and your method of using the law to bring the knowledge of sin really works! But why are you not telling people in the churches to repent? I know for a fact that Jack Hibbs church is filled with divorced and remarried people and he tells them that they can get divorced and remarried privately in counselling sessions. He did a question and answer session where a woman asked about divorce and remarriage and he told her that she could be married 5 times or 50 times! He says that people can remain in their adulterous unions! This is not of God! The church needs to be evangelized Ray and this is so serious to God. People living in sexual immorality will __NOT__ be going in the rapture. Many people read 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 but they miss the first 8 verses of the chapter: 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8 NLT: 4 Finally, dear brothers and sisters,[a] we urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to live in a way that pleases God, as we have taught you. You live this way already, and we encourage you to do so even more. 2 For you remember what we taught you by the authority of the Lord Jesus. 3 God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin. 4 Then each of you will control his own body[b] and live in holiness and honor- 5 not in lustful passion like the pagans who do not know God and his ways. 6 Never harm or cheat a fellow believer in this matter by violating his wife,[c] for the Lord avenges all such sins, as we have solemnly warned you before. 7 God has called us to live holy lives, not impure lives. 8 Therefore, anyone who refuses to live by these rules is not disobeying human teaching but is rejecting God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you. People who are divorced and remarried will __NOT__ be going in the rapture. The Bible is very clear. Many pastors refuse to preach the truth concerning this because they know that they will lose members of their churches and they will lose money. They will not be liked by many in the congregation and they will be hated. Ray, are you willing to be a voice and speak up? Pastor Jack’s church needs to be evangelized and since you are going their on Sunday why will you not do it? Divorce and remarriage is a cancer in the church and it has destroyed families. Will you speak up? Here are some scripture verses to read: Mark 10:6-12, Luke 16:14-18, Romans 7:1-3, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, 1 Corinthians 7:1-2, 1 Corinthians 7:10-11, 1 Corinthians 7:39 and Galatians 5:19-24. Hebrews 13:4 . We can see the signs that Jesus will rapture His bride soon. I will keep holding onto the truth about the covenant of marriage even though I have been persecuted for this. To God be the glory, great things He is doing. Sheena.
Hello Ray, just to point out that you've made an slight error in the video. In 10:20 of the video, shows the verse Hebrews 10:21. Actually, should be Hebrews 10:31. Just stating that if you haven't. I thank God for bestowing His grace to us, by His word and spirit, enables us to show love for a world that has forsaken God. I know that God's hand is abundantly shown through your countless encounters and witnesses to the lost from your videos. The Gospel is the power of God for salvation for all who believe. My mature brother in Christ. Ray, thank you for showing me what is to never stop ceasing to fervently to fear and tremble to serve our Lord. By God's grace, perishing souls are snatched away from the fiery pits of eternal punishment to hearing the Gospel and being justified by God as an act of His immutable mercy toward us. Like the Paul the Apostle said in 1 Corinthians 2:2 'For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.' Grace and peace to you from your brother in Christ, Johnson.
Kelsey probably came to faith a long time ago…I love how the so-called Christians question the faith of others…maybe try as Paul says “working out your own salvation with fear and trembling”…
Yes as in baptized & also in John 3....& taught for centuries in the holy orthodox catholic church, ancient apostolic Christendom. This is the faith like it or not, Christianity existed well before Zwingli in the 16th cent, even Luther & Calvin knew the power of baptism...so why this imposing & denial today in the Protest? Too much of our own interp, forming doctrine before texts are evaluated & not even researching church history
Do not be deceived by false teachers. Only God know's the truth. And remember this man is an actor playing a role, always playing a role. Deceptive by their very nature are actors.
No repentance! No salvation!... seek Jesus Not man's narrative! Salvation comes by hearing the word of God!... Jesus says don't forbid them who speak His name Jesus says.. for as in the parable of the wheat and tares.. the Lord will separate the goats from the sheep... beware true brethren You are saved by it's grace Only! Not of watching a feel good movie We don't preach affirmations..we preach long suffering.. then rewards...peace and blessings.. SEEK JESUS WHILE YOU HAVE BREATH IN YOUR LUNGS!!... thanks Ray and blessings LW..
@O Really? the actors salvation is no different then the homeless man who sleeps in the streets.. his salvation is between God and him...I do pray for more souls won for the kingdom but since God shows no partiality neither should we...we need to stop looking toward these entertainers as figure points in our lives as markers of a reflection of who we are and how we conduct ourselves in the faith..Amen?
Hey Ray, I don't think this movie is recommended for Christians... Sure it's a "lovely" story but the Lonnie Frisbee was an open homosexual even after he "got married". He later died of aids at the end of his life. I can't explain everything here but please watch Jordan Riley's channel and his take on the movie and Lonnies life. God bless.
Taking God's name in vain does not mean what most people think it means. If you actually look up the meaning of the original words, it basically means putting his name to something he has nothing to do with. In means useless or without any fruit. Unfortunately, modern Christianity is so far from Biblical truth it is sad. Example: How many times in the NT do you see miracles or salvation at a temple or church? Church is suppose to be where we are taught and equipped and then as Jesus commanded, sent out to those in need. We have made everything about the church and not about God. We say come to church to find Jesus...now that is true blasphemy.
Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is the unpardonable sin. All of us sin after we are saved! We are still in this body with all the temptations we had before we were saved. Explain Lot, why did the Lord count him as righteous, there is one reason! Simple answer! You need be be careful you don't think too much of self and ignore, quench the Holy Spirit! Let us pray for Kelsey Grammer and see how God works not you!
I thought you said it's only bad to use it as a cuss word like when you say the s word but you bleeped him for just saying the word. So we can't say His name at all? Like in awe of something? Also, in all my years in church and following other RUclipsrs like Wretched, John MacArthur, I've never heard them preach against just saying his name I've heard them say you can't say Gd or JC as a cuss word of course that's a given but you call it blasphemy even to mention his name at all?
Ray, you do good work and I have no doubt that you have brought people to Christ, but it is not good that you put Kelsey Grammer under your "is he a Christian " spotlight. What if he was a new Christian and then sees your video questioning his faith? We are all lucky that we got to grow as new Christians without the pressure of the world watching us. It's much harder for celebrities. Also, you beeped out his words as if he was saying bad words. The commandment is to Not Carry God’s Name in Vain. Saying Oh my G** is not blasphemy worthy of the death penalty in the Old Testament. If that was the case, using the acronym OMG, as you do, would be too, since it is referring to Him just as the English word we use for Him is. (I didn't use His name, so that you wouldn't be offended) Again, you do His work, but go easy on Kelsey Grammer. Pray for him.
The argument has become popular that “God” is not the Creator’s Name. It’s just a title. Therefore using “God” as an exclamation (in place of a cuss word) isn’t blasphemy because it’s not His Name. Forgive me, but for the sake of making an important point, I’m going to be very explicit. If I said that the sitting Governor of our State is nothing but a piece of [human excrement], I may not be using his name directly, but I’m horribly dishonoring him as a person. The Governor (his title) and his name are the same person. When “God!” is used as a exclamation, it’s used as a substitute to express disgust. It is taking it in vain-counting it as nothing. The Name of Jesus is used in that very context with the common exclamation “bejesus”: Etymology: alteration of by Jesus -- (interjection) used as a mild oath; -- (noun) runny poop You scured [scared] the bejesus out of me. www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=scured Such a context shows the utter contempt that human beings have for their Creator. They hate Him because He demands moral restraint and accountability. King James Bible Dictionary - Blasphemy: “In the sense of speaking evil of God this word is found in Psalms 74:18; Isaiah 52:5; Romans 2:24; Revelation 13:1, 6; 16:9, 11, 21.” kingjamesbibledictionary.com/Dictionary/blasphemy Jesus warned that every idle word men speak, they will have give an account of on the Day of Judgment (see Matthew 12:36). How much more will they have to give an account for dishonoring the holy Name of God through the evil of blasphemy.
@@raycomfortjustwitnessing Ray, it might be worth for you to sometimes mention to your viewers that there are quite a few other phrases that are substitutes for "God" or "Jesus" and used exclusively for the purpose of taking His name in vain. A few of them are "Gosh", "Golly", "Gee", "My Goodness" (or just about any exclamation with the word "Good" or "Goodness" in it where it is a substitute for "God"), "Crickey" (for you New Zealanders or Australians), and several others.
@@d_Gnome No, you are not correct. It can be said that those phrases, when used as exclamations, are not direct substitutes for the words, "God" and "Jesus". They are though a substitute for taking His name/title in vain, i.e., for using His name/title as an exclamation in a vain way, as a substitute for a vulgar word, etc. By that, I mean, you would never use those words to refer to God/Jesus in a respectful/reverent way, so with that in mind, they are not direct substitutes. I.e., the word "God", without defining any context, can be thought of as neutral. Depending on the context it's used, negative or positive or neutral descriptions can be added. Those exclamatory phrases being discussed here though cannot ever carry any positive descriptions about God, because they are by definition disrespectful of Him. The origin of those phrases was to use God's name/title in an offensive/disrespectful manner toward God, but attempting to not be so offensive to the listeners' ears, while fully conveying the same thought from speaker to listener, and conveying fully that the heart of the speaker wished to disrespect God. Let me give you a very modern example that will hopefully make it easier to understand. A year or two ago, it was common in various crowds for them to chant the name of the U.S. President along with a profane word. A man being interviewed, who's name is Brandon, mistook the chant for different words and thought it was a positive chant about him. Almost immediately afterwards, that phrase he thought he heard became commonly known to be an equivalent for the original chant disrespecting the President, but without running afoul of perhaps offending people by the use of the profane word. The meaning of that substitute phrase was identical. The speakers of that phrase had every intention of disrespecting the President, and they had every intention that the listeners would know it. This is exactly the same situation with people who, a long time ago, wished to take God's name/title in vain, but ran into resistance from people who found it offensive to hear that with the word, "God" or "Jesus" in the phrase. So they coined a new phrase, but which both the speaker and listener knew meant that the speaker was disrespecting God, but which supposedly wasn't as offensive to the listener's ears, or such that it would not run afoul of legal/moral/social rules. I believe that while God judges you not only according to your own heart (if you intend to say something, you will be judged for what is in your heart), you will also be judged according to what others take your words as, provided you realize in advance how they will take those words. Let me explain with an often used hypothetical situation. If you yell "Fire!" in a crowded theater, and there is a stampede of people, some of whom are trampled to death, you will be charged with a serious crime. It matters not that you were joking and not serious in your mind, because you knew that the people would think there was a real fire. Let's say that 50% of the people in that theater realized you were joking, but 50% didn't and thought you were serious, and those 50% panicked and the result was deaths. At your trial, would you say, "Judge, look how half the people knew I wasn't serious. How can you charge me with a crime just because some of the people didn't know that in my heart I wasn't serious? The fact that some knew what was in my heart should be enough to prove I'm innocent." And of course that line of reasoning would get you nowhere. The judge/jury will declare you to be guilty to the full extent of the law. The point being, communication is designed to carry a thought from one person to another person(s), and it is important to know how the person receiving that communication will receive that message. Of course, if we don't realize that the person will take it in a different way than was our intention, we may have some excuse. But if we knew, or had other reason to believe that they would/might take it in a way other than our intention, then we have responsibility for our words being received in that way. Now, whether we speak words with our mouth, handwrite words on a paper, type words on a computer, send Morse Code, send smoke signals, sign language, etc., it does not matter. Communication can use all sorts of methods for transmitting a message, some of which you could argue don't even involve words or language, but message is still being sent. So whether you use code words or not, you are every bit as responsible for your words, and will be guilty if those words are disrespectful toward God, and you know that the receiver of your message will or may interpret them as such. Granted, these phrases are used so frequently in modern society that it may very well be that many people these days don't know the origin and what they really mean. But that doesn't change the facts about their origin/original meaning, nor change the fact that many people still view those words to carry the full weight of their intended use to take God's name in vain. Finally, the dictionary clearly defines those words as referring to God/Jesus. From Collins: "goodness EXCLAMATION 4. a euphemism for God" "gee EXCLAMATION US and Canadian informal a mild exclamation of surprise, admiration, etc Also: gee whizz Word origin C20: euphemism for Jesus " Can you honestly say that the Collins dictionary is lying? Many other dictionaries also say basically the same thing. The dictionary is not some book with definitions made up arbitrarily or just one person's opinion. They are made with real definitions, as defined by multiple/groups of people, and checked by various individuals composing the dictionary. Just because you say a word means something, or doesn't mean something does not change what the dictionary says is the case. If you are speaking in private to yourself, then by all means, define your words to mean whatever you want. But the moment you start speaking to others, especially those who you don't know well enough to determine how they will interpret your words, the dictionary is a valid source to refer to so that you will know how your words may be taken by others. Of course we all make mistakes. And sometimes those mistakes are sins. Sometimes we say things out of habit before thinking. I'm not perfect with all the words coming out of my mouth, nor is anyone. But it is totally unacceptable for a real Christian to deliberately speak words that they know will be taken by their audience of real Christians as taking God's name in vain and is offensive to them. Doing such continually, without repentance, proves they do not love God nor love their brothers/sisters in the body of Christ.
@@AirstripBum Oh I don't disagree. I feel bad when I say it. However I don't hate God. For Ray to have said "No you don't!" like that seemed off to me. It seemed aggressive and I don't think taking God's name in vain is quite like how Ray thinks it is. At the end of the day though the dude seemed super receptive which is totally awesome.
@@LivingWaters You don't think that David was writing that lament about his actual enemies though? I mean just because I stub my toe and say "*** *****" doesn't mean I hate God. Also vanity has a lot more to do than just using God's name as a curse word. Old Testament wise it had a lot more to do with the religious leaders using God's word for monetary gain. It's why He whipped them in the temple until they were bloodied and naked. That is true vanity. Joel Osteen uses Christs' name in vain. Joyce Meyers uses Christs' name in vain. Not saying you're wrong, but for you to say he doesn't love God just because of that is silly. I love you Ray but you seemed a bit aggressive when you said that. I don't know it just felt off.
You bleeped geez? How is geez a cuss word? I'm confused. I think of gosh, gee whizz. Who decided in the English language one day that these are cuss words? I understand using God as profanity is a sin, but these other words, if not meant in a heart of disregard, disrespect, but just language, when did they become wrong?
Geez / Gee Whizz = Jesus Gosh = God Those words were created for non-believers, people who hate God, to be able to take God's name in vain while supposedly not offending Christians so much. They are words from people who's hearts are filled with Satan, not with God. The inference in someone using those words is that they hate God but in order to be more socially acceptable, use a different form of the word that supposedly doesn't call as much attention to their hatred of God. They were absolutely never intended to be used by Christians. For a "Christian" to use those words, while knowing their true meaning/origin, is absolutely horrible. The message being sent is, "I profess to be a Christian, but in reality I have such a complete lack of respect for God and such a hate for Him that I will use this substitute word so that the real Christians won't be offended." Nothing could be more vile to the ears of someone who truly loves God and respects God above all than to hear such words from Satan being spoken by someone who professes to know and love God when they do not. Anyways, if you don't believe me, look up the origin of those words, and any good website that shows the origin will show the fact that they are indeed what I say, and substitute words for Jesus/God. They have always been wrong, but Satan has done such a "good job" of making those expressions so commonplace that many people don't even think about using them, nor some people even know their true meaning anymore. Don't fall into Satan's trap. Learn to research the meanings of the words you say, especially any exclamations you use in vain, and you'll find a good number of them fall into this same category.
@@MrCamaleon7 Taking God’s name in vain or using it as a cuss word as Ray calls it is not something that a true Christian would do. We all slip up sometimes but a true Christian would be deeply ashamed when it happens because they truly love God and know it is so wrong to use His name that way. So no, if you trust in Jesus Christ and are born again all your sins are forgiven and you are spared the wrath of God but taking the Lords name in vain with no sense of it’s sinfulness indicates that you are not a true born again Christian.
@Lorraine Whitehead God is not Gods name. And "using" God's name has nothing to do with saying a word name. Using his name in vain is using his authority give to us by christ for personal gain. God told me to marry you, when it's not true : that's using God's name in vain. God told me you need to give me money: that using God's name in vain. It's about the authority not a name or a word. In other words, when we become saved we receive a power of attorney. With power in the spiritual realm. When we use that power to open doors for selfish reasons. That using God's name in vain. God is not even a name, it's just a word. The Bible never said "God" alone, it says "The Lord your God".

Amen! Aren’t we glad Jesus didn’t come back or we died before coming to Jesus??? 👊🏾🙌🏾
Yes Lord pour your Spirit on Kelsey in the Name of Jesus Christ
No one is good except God alone.""
Isaiah 64:6 "And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags"
So, as a Christian, if we talk about "My goodness", then it must be referring to God, because we have no goodness aside from God's Holy Spirit who dwells in us.
Then, what does man have to say about "My goodness"?
From Wiktionary:
"my goodness
Etymology
Minced oath for my God."
From Collins:
"goodness
EXCLAMATION
4. a euphemism for God"
So, whether you take God's Word, or man's word, they both say it means God, when used as such an exclamation.
Other phrases containing Goodness or Good:
Good Grief = Good God
Goodness Gracious = Good God / Grace of God
Now, if your child gets a perfect score on an exam, and you exclaim to your child, "Good!" or "Oh, good!" I would take that as meaning "Good job!", and thus not be any reference to God.
John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
So, to my ears, it sounds like someone is trying to use that also as an alternate way of taking God's name in vain.

Kelsey Grammer needs to repent, and stop riding the fence. The world loves their perks and worldly connections too much. Not seeing that God's connection is eternal life in the Way, the Truth, and Life Itself.

@@AndrewL4me fairly sure u can
@@AndrewL4me The best approach is how, Jesus, approached sinners.
So they are without excuse."
Romans 1:18-20
I agree with you, faith does not come around by way of evidence.
"for it [the gospel] is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes"
Romans 1:16
However your statement that there is no demonstrable evidence for God's existence is purely incorrect, and does corroborate either special revelation or natural revelation.

Only God knows the heart.
This man in part two was fascinating, the everyday person. Brave to be on camera.
Looks like a great movie, ill be looking for this one when I can stream 😀
Ray when you said "How could anyone do such a movie and not come to faith" I immediately thought of Judas Iscariot; thinking you were going to mention him

Excellent sir. I hope your video goes viral.
Thank you Ray!
God bless him. May he trust the Lord before he walks away.
2 Corinthians 7:9-10 - 10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death
Acts 3:19
Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out,
Jesus says to repent.
Matthew 4:17 ESV
From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
I have always liked Kelsey Grammer. It is obvious God is working in his life.

Thats beautiful
I used to take Gods name in vain.. Before I was born again..then after I had been whenever I said it I felt a pain inside..soon I stopped.😊
Just witnessing? Now this channel is like other living waters channel. But i can jump over:)
This was so refreshing to watch ❤
I doubt Kelsey has had his come to Jesus moment as some would call it, I heard him on a interview about this movie where he said he prayed to God or whoever to give him a meaningful role, the next day he was called. Who calls God whoever when God is the sovereign being who made heaven and earth and everything on it? I myself know of God and whom he is, not perfectly, but enough to know He is not a whoever!!!
Before I was saved I prayed 8n the "general direction of God" because I didn't know Him. I asked God "whoever you are, reveal yourself to me, let me know you."
Now that I know Christ, I trust that the Father heard my genuine prayer and drew me to the Son, and the Son gave me access to the Father, and I have the Holy Spirit in me.
What do they keep bleeping?
I'm sooo happy, when someone comes to Christ...
Probably cursing or blasphemy
@@RonanTheAccuser92 I found the same interview online which wasn't edited, and he's taking God's name in vain there. Ray correctly bleeped that part out as to not make the video to be more offensive to believers.

Ayo ray ray !
He is promoting his movie with tears!
Many people read 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 but they miss the first 8 verses of the chapter:
1 Thessalonians 4:1-8 NLT:
4 Finally, dear brothers and sisters,[a] we urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to live in a way that pleases God, as we have taught you.
Here are some scripture verses to read:
Mark 10:6-12, Luke 16:14-18, Romans 7:1-3, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, 1 Corinthians 7:1-2, 1 Corinthians 7:10-11, 1 Corinthians 7:39 and Galatians 5:19-24.
Hebrews 13:4 .
We can see the signs that Jesus will rapture His bride soon. I will keep holding onto the truth about the covenant of marriage even though I have been persecuted for this.
To God be the glory, great things He is doing.
Sheena.
He's not saved, yet! Yes he's searching. If he were saved he'd say it!! 🙏

Like the Paul the Apostle said in 1 Corinthians 2:2 'For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.'
Grace and peace to you from your brother in Christ, Johnson.
Thank you.
What is up with the beeping? Did he say something wrong?
Blasphemy.

Not of watching a feel good movie We don't preach affirmations..we preach long suffering.. then rewards...peace and blessings.. Repentance is Key 🔑 if you don't think you need to be saved then you won't care either way. Idk I hope he's saved.
@O Really? the actors salvation is no different then the homeless man who sleeps in the streets.. his salvation is between God and him...I do pray for more souls won for the kingdom but since God shows no partiality neither should we...we need to stop looking toward these entertainers as figure points in our lives as markers of a reflection of who we are and how we conduct ourselves in the faith..Amen?
If you're used to using profanity, it isn't that easy to quit. Whether or not Mr. Grammer has repented of his sin, I don't know.
whoa...some choice words about JFK getting shot lol
What is wrong with that women host making a comment about his sister like that
I think Kelsey is just an actor. Always will be. He's getting old and needs fame. Time will tell.
(I didn't use His name, so that you wouldn't be offended)
Again, you do His work, but go easy on Kelsey Grammer.
The Name of Jesus is used in that very context with the common exclamation “bejesus”:
Etymology: alteration of by Jesus
-- (interjection) used as a mild oath;
-- (noun) runny poop
You scured [scared] the bejesus out of me.
www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=scured
Such a context shows the utter contempt that human beings have for their Creator. They hate Him because He demands moral restraint and accountability.
King James Bible Dictionary - Blasphemy: “In the sense of speaking evil of God this word is found in Psalms 74:18; Isaiah 52:5; Romans 2:24; Revelation 13:1, 6; 16:9, 11, 21.”
kingjamesbibledictionary.com/Dictionary/blasphemy
Jesus warned that every idle word men speak, they will have give an account of on the Day of Judgment (see Matthew 12:36).
@Aaron Lee Goodness and Gee are not substitutes for "God" but they're substitutes for exclamations. Big difference
From Collins:
"goodness
EXCLAMATION
4. a euphemism for God"
"gee
EXCLAMATION
US and Canadian informal
a mild exclamation of surprise, admiration, etc
Also: gee whizz
Word origin
C20: euphemism for Jesus
"
Can you honestly say that the Collins dictionary is lying?
Just because you take The Lord's name in vain doesn't mean you don't love Him.
But it is showing His Name disrespect. Very bad thing.
“Your enemies take Your name in vain.” Psalm 139:20
@@CaptainPantys The names Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyers should never be used in the same paragraph as Ray Comfort.
Geez / Gee Whizz = Jesus
Gosh = God
Those words were created for non-believers, people who hate God, to be able to take God's name in vain while supposedly not offending Christians so much.
Saying "God" Or "Oh My God" is not blasphemy 🤦 god is not a name it's a title. Using God's name is using God's authority for the wrong reasons.
Yeah, I don't envy you having to explain that to God when you stand before him.
@@nicholaswhisler9844 I'm pretty sure nobody is going to hell for saying Oh my God. That's stupid.
I always feel that type of exclamation is like a prayer, calling out to God.
