The movie is very good, tells the story of the artist Touko Valio Laaksonen aka Tom of Finland very well. I love paintings, they are beautiful, they are amazing works of art. E' una tristezza sapere che film del genere, che probabilmente sono pezzi d'arte pura, non vengano tradotti in italiano.

None of them are playing any of the three main characters which are Tom, his sister and his lover. And a "Lotta" wasn't just any woman but a member of Lotta Svärd, a voluntary auxiliary paramilitary organisation for women.

"True story", "based on real events" etc doesn't mean they tell/show the real story exactly how it occurred. They usually beef them up to make the story more interesting to the movie viewers or for other reasons. They often do things like replace a male in the true story for a female character in the story's movie, eg the Exorcist is a good example of that because in the real story it was a buy who became possessed...

Rolando Aponte millions of gay people grew up only seeing straight people and straight relationships in the media and still turned out gay, what makes you think straight kids are going to turn gay off of a movie? sexuality isn’t as easily swayed as you think.

It doesn't take a genius to understand why a film such as this was made. Yet, for weak-willed folks such as the one who compared that filth to this wonderful picture; it seems you are missing a millimeter of brain to have that level of thinking capacity.
