My father was a CP Rail train operator. When I was about 7 we went to a company BBQ and they gave us these records. It was my first record as a kid and I used to lay on the floor listening to this on my record player and play it over and over. Don't know what happened to the record that I had. This brings back a lot of amazing memories. Thanks for uploading this!
I lost that record years ago! Wish I still had it. The guy that said "once it gets in your blood...." was a fellow that I worked with for quite a few years. I had three years service when that came out, I managed to stay for another 27! Thanks for posting this!
+thetrooper1950 Wow no kidding you knew him eh! That's awesome. It's nice that they included the names of all the different people speaking on the backside of the record as well. My pleasure to record and share this, hopefully a few others who were part of this campaign stumble upon this video and can reminisce as well.
Thank you. Ive been looking for this song for over 10 years. Even going as far as contacting the singer. He just laughed at the song. This has made my year.
My great grandfather worked for CP starting in the 1940s and into the 60s, I'm sure he's rolling in his grave considering how much trackage CP and CN have torn up since his death in 1980. Nice vid by the way.
With the price of gas, even diesel fuel for the trucks, buses. It makes more sense to ship goods by rail. 7 members of my family worked for the Lehigh Valley railroad in Northeastern Pennsylvania out of Coxton yard near Pittston, PA.
+WestCoastRails Haha I thought about that too Greg. The older sounding gentleman says he loves CP so much if he had do his whole career over again he'd do it for free! The company and the union have quite a different relationship now than they did back then.
Holy shit. I work like 15 hours a day and I’ve only seen my kid once this month. My boss is an asshole and a lazy piece of shit. 🎶 I hate the CP railway line🎶 LOL.

+bushman1679 You are very welcome! That's awesome you contacted the singer, and he didn't have a copy??
Back in the days of Multimark, it's awesome how Multimark SD40-2s are still in service
Haven't heard this in god knows how many years
@4:30 sounds a lot like MIKE PAULOCELI a supervisor in 1984 diesel shop port coquitalam BC.
Wow that's a gem of a find
Very cool! That was also a TV commercial way back with that tune!
+Kevin Dunbar Neat I didn't know that Kevin. I wonder if somebody has a copy of that?
When Railroads still expressed how important their employees are to their workforce. 1984
Imagine what the commentary would sound like if they tried to do this today.
wow... I remember when my father brought this record home when I was a young boy. thanks for posting
+marpa Your welcome, glad it brought you back!
+BArailsystem yeah that was cool... dad passed a few years ago so I shared this clip with my mom and sister!
Fantastic upload.
+LanceCampeau Thanks.

+PittsburghIndustrialRailroad Thanks Lance!
Hey ba cp is getting rid of multi mark SD-40s is this true?
Yes CP Rail is getting rid of SD40-2 Locomotives
Could you imagine hearing a 2015 recording!! haha would be completely opposite

LOL.
I have this 45 for sale on Kijiji .
Now known as CPKC since 2023 due to the amalgamation of CP Rail and the KC Southern Railway!
Not sure how I missed this video! What a treasure. If you play it backwards what does it say?
+Maltux1 Didn't try that haha
It says "HAIL CN!!!" XD
Nice -Ryan
👍🏻
+Mr. Minecraft Thanks Ryan.
I have a copy of this same record with note from R.S. Allison which I'd like to sell to a CP Rail fan. What's it worth?
Not sure what it's worth Tom, maybe put it on Kijiji and see what kind of offers you get?
can confirm once its in your blood its pretty hard to shake it.
Now you can add Kansas City Southern railway to the Canadian Pacific railroad.
Where’d you get this record?
English and french ,,,wow ,,,,,,,too funny........................lol
+Pascal Latulippe Haha yes of course.
