If you watch the camera angles , you can see Angelina is never horrible directly to her daughter , who wouldn't have understood " it was just acting " , at that age . It's cleverly done , mins you .

The fact that the director was a genius for putting Angelina's own daughter in the movie is utter genius
He had no choice. As it was mentiont bevore they had 40 4 year old girl `s auditioned but they where terrible afraid of Angelina Jolie in Kostume. Only her daugther just saw her beloved mother so she smile and hugged her.

A month later we watched the movie together. When Maleficent kissed Aurora, I turned to my daughter and said "Awwww, you called me Maleficent" I hugged her and gave her big kiss on her forehead "and that is a true loves kiss" My BabyGirl smiled at me "I told you, you are Maleficent... I would never call you anything bad Mommie."
The sad part, my daughter's dad is very much like Aurora's dad, so focused on his hate and anger towards Maleficent he didn't focus on his daughter when she finally came home...

The way she said the second "go away"... she needed all her own self control to not break character... and the smile I 'm sure she had for her as soon as the camera moved away and the filming paused is something not hard to envision at all. I'm sure she immediately run to Aurora, smiling and hugging her with love.

Definitely true..I worked in the foster care system..and many of those children loved their parents despite the neglect and abuse. Didn't even realize their parents were literally monsters

I also thought that was an amazing casting choice because Maleficent was supposed to not like Aurora, but be conflicted. Jolie perfectly shows this and you can see the love in her eyes. Of course her daughter isn't acting, which is just perfect adorableness. Just great casting

Angelina is excellent in this movie. You can tell her daughter is not afraid of her dressed in her movie character. She must have seen her mother dressed this way a few times before. She's even smiling. I also learned that crows are very intelligent birds. The crow is watching the encounter between maleficent and the young girl.

Before the scene is performed in costumes, they do it hundreds of times in normal clothes. Children spend their entire lives recording them. They are not afraid of their own step-mothers. Angelina involved a child, money and a career😅😅😅

My favourite fact about this movie is that they had no choice but to cast Angelina's daughter, because she was THE ONLY child they could find who didn't burst into frightened tears looking at her in costume.
Especially at the end when he watches the little princess leave, you can clearly see the look of the mother. 😍

This is so cute to see her daughter trying to have fun with her mom while recording. I know they’re acting but technically most of what her child did was likely unscripted because she was too young to understand. This is still so cute and will always be one of my favorite scenes in any movie
