Today I'm sharing a video where I give my review of the Sutera BathStone Mat - a mat made from Diatomaceous Earth. I personally really enjoy my mat after having it for several month now - the only down side is you do have to up keep it by sanding it down when it starts to get dirty - doesn't take much effort though to be honest. Hi everyone! Just to follow up on this video - I have posted a complete break down of the Sutera Bathstone on my blog. For those interested in checking out that article, you can read more about it here >> bit.ly/3HGEoSZ
>> Some things to mention:
1. Regularly sand your stone down to avoid cracks or for it to look it's best. I sand mine down every week and clean any dust with a damp microfiber cloth.
2. This stone is made from Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth - which means it's safe if ingested (unless you're sanding your stone aggressively, this shouldn't happen...)
3. Please be a respectful commenter - I have already gotten some trolls on this video and I am more than happy to delete them!
4. Thanks for watching! 🤗🤗
Why would someone ingest it??????
“Literally”. And “In all honesty “. Your two favorite words or phrases.
What doesn’t make sense about this product is that they claim both that the “water evaporates from the surface instantly” and that the DE “instantly absorbs moisture.” It can’t be both, or they don’t understand the difference between absorption and evaporation.
Definitely worth reaching out to them for clarification! The stone doesn't hold onto water since it's made out of raw natural material so imo, it does evaporate. If you do reach out to them though, I would love an update! - Sarah
It’s a chalk like” product so it absorbs. Or displaces the water from the surface.
Both processes are involved. Water dissipates and doesn’t pool, allowing evaporation of the water much easier.
@@slc1161 obviously both are involved. My point is that it’s a ridiculous claim that it evaporates instantly. I will buy that it does a good job at absorbing quickly, but it can’t both evaporate instantly and absorb instantly, otherwise there wouldn’t be anything to absorb in the first place
I have two of these and I think they work great. I can see that they may crack but only if you drop them. I’m glad I got rid of my old bathmat as these work well for me.
I agree! ^.^
Thank you for giving your opinion on a product you personally bought. This video was created in 01/22, can you post an updated review? (I see you made a post below, but would love a thorough video)
1. what it looks like now
2. what (if any) would you do differently?
3. how delicate is this?
4. maintenance: how often did you sand/clean it?
Thank you for your feedback! I can definitely create an update video on how it's holding up! ^.^
Thinking of getting one for girlfriend’s birthday. Shes having a remodel and jacuzzi tub install. Good for stepping out of or too much water? Good birthday gift? I got a necklace of course also. I learned early that things like 700$ roombas aren’t as appreciated as a small catbird bracelet
It's definitely worth trying! Apart from cleaning it regularly, I can step out the shower now without drying off and it will dry within a minute - really cool to watch sometimes. I think it's a nice gift as it's unique for sure and with a jacuzzi, it sounds ideal for her. Also, bracelets are the key to a girls heart haha. ;)
Why are bathhouse mats getting moldy? Done with it drape it over side of tub or top of shower door and let it dry. I’ve never had mold and I don’t leave it laying on floor wet.
Bath mats can get moldy for many reasons really - if bathrooms have little to no ventilation causing humidity build up in the air, the tiles themselves and if they're treated, and some mats are genuinely made out of fabric where no matter how often you wash them they still smell weird afterwards. It's a case with many variables, but mold does happen. I was over mine so that's why I invested in this bathstone. No more guess work!
Save your money - mine cracked and broke in half
If yours cracked it simply means you weren't caring for it properly or your floor isn't leveled. I've had mine for five months now and with regular sanding, it hasn't cracked at all, and still is a great investment.
Look on the bright side - Now you have TWO of them!

Very good video. I bought, but I forgot to use your link (I was trying to see how much it was on another screen and just forgot.
Thank you!
Thank you! I appreciate you for your feedback and I hope you enjoy your product! ^.^
What are the dimensions?
Hello! The dimensions are 25.5x15 and it’s thickness is about .5 cm - hope this helps!
Why will it be dirty if your getting out the shower ?
She mentioned they get dirty from her slippers when she walks into the bathroom. The same thing happens to mine.
@@cubanalien do you like yours ? I currently use a towel but I don’t like that
@@user-lisau no i hate it!!! It’s thick kinda like a sponge and it gets so gross
Is the mat hard or soft ?
Great review you did a great job. I think I will get one.
Thank you very much, I appreciate you! :)
I'd like to know how you liked or disliked the product after a few uses.
Of course! The bathstone really does what it advertises if taken care of the right way. I like that I no longer have to wash a bath mat so it's one less thing to worry about. I also enjoy how fast it dries too. It does get dirty easily so I did find that I have to sweep it often to make it look nicer throughout the week - I also have to sand it down when it gets dirty but it doesn't take too long; it's still much better than a bath mat! Hope this helps and thank you for your comment and for watching! ^.^
You don’t have to wash it?
@@joelvaldes10 Nope ^.^ you just sand it down every week with the sand paper it comes with and maybe sweep it if dust gets on, it It's fairly low maintenance tho which I like!
Informative and excellent video and You’re adorable. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this feedback! I appreciate you! - Sarah
How come you can only make a video when the weather is clear sky's??
Natural lighting is always better for recording videos, plus my apartment is facing a weird direction which doesn't help at all 😄😄
Thank you! Keep up your good work
How does it feel?”
Like a stone or?!”
Definitely like a stone but not as cold! It has a matte feel to it I guess ^.^
Awesome vid, gonna use your link!
Thanks so much Justyn! Greatly appreciate you watching and I'm happy you enjoyed it! - Sarah 🤗🤗
Thank you 🙏🏽💕💕💕
You're welcome! Thank you for watching! ^.^
