Outstanding food clips Elmo! Sincere and accurate evaluation. I see you as a custodian and ambassador for our M'sian Chinese Street Food Culture. Please keep up the good work.
As much I enjoy your clips in Kwong Tong Wah, I believe some done in English is good idea cause, you can be a great Ambassador introducing Malaysian culture to the world. Your command of English is impressive. And your presentations are professional, fun, informative, logical and recommendations are good
Elmo, U shud check out these BKT stalls in Klang and Pandamaran. Weng Heong for claypot BKT at Taman Rashna, Teck Siong also at Tmn Rahsna (related to under the bridge) Ah Her at Pandamaran (evening), BH BKT Jalan Young Pandamaran ( elated to Samy), Samy BKT same row as Rest 158 which u covered for Hong Bak.... U shud also check Swee Xiang Hong Bak at Jln Sg Keramat Kapat road
Thank you for the history lesson of this Malaysian cuisine. Good info. It should be canonized in the culinary libraries around the world. We must step up to acknowledge it because our Malaysian ministry never steps up to defend any cuisine except nasi legal in the international realm. That's how we lost Chicken rice and other famous Malaysian hawker delights to Singapore in the UNESCO listings and almost lost yeesang to Singapore also. (But it was too well documented and found o be from Seremban)
Hi Elmo. I hope u can do the top 8 Prawn noodles in PJ. My recommendation is Johnny's prawn noodles in Yau Yat Khan Subang 2. D best and even better if u add d pork ribs even though its a bit further frm PJ. Worth a try
Please try "Teow Chew Peng--潮州平" at Kg.Baru Subang(not during the lunch hour please)..Last time this shop was operating opposite the Batu 3 petron petrol station and is a family team...IF you go there and taste disappointed, you may claim your bill with me😃
Here is it is the address in google maps. Ground Floor, 43, Jalan TS 6/10a, Taman Subang Permai, 47510 Subang Jaya, Selangor You can also waze it Ju Xin Bak Kut Teh. It's opposite the Mamee factory/office
I ate Ah Sang BKT many times...and everytime my throat is screaming for water for the next 2 hours due to the high amount of MSG they put into the soup.
The bak kut teh is believed to have originated from China Fujian province, so it doesn't matter was it 1st introduced by the Singaporean or Malaysian. I like the dark bak kut teh, with added fine cut ginger, and also the dry version. They're yummy 😋😋😋😋😋
I visited this creative food site and got more than food tips but a unique dose of history and narration. Well done!
Thanks William, shall be doing more research on the local streetfood scene. Next is Char Kuey Teow

I ate Ah Sang BKT many times...and everytime my throat is screaming for water for the next 2 hours due to the high amount of MSG they put into the soup.
Thanks for the feedback, I didn't noticed the MSG in the bowl I reviewed though
whats wrong with MSG?
yup...many friends also complained about the same thing. If only they
put a lot lesser msg, the taste will be even better and healthier
You are right very very thirsty after eating, about 2 hours? Correct too.
@@kayellai5278 ya, all my friends said the same thing. thats why they no longer eat there.
I remember my dad rather call singapore white bakuteh as pepper soup lol compare to local klang dark version bakuteh.(joke)

Nope, originated and created in Malaysia.
