well said well said!!!!! if a raiders priority is beating the meter, the raid is their second priority. that goes not just the healers, for dps as well, since dps is the most competitive. if you wanna stand in fire, and trying to cast out a big hitter thats not gonna help the raid. 1 hit wont get u any higher in recount.
I know most people are going to whine about new vs. old. But as a proud discipline priest, i'm so happy of the direction Blizzard took the spec, we're like badass combat medics now, not kids with bubble wands.
@MrDisciplinePriest: I agree, Mastery isn't nearly as bad as portrayed here. All secondary stats for Disc (mastery, crit and haste) in effectiveness are pretty much equal, and it solely depends on your induvidual playstyle with which you are better off, but regardless of this, you shouldn't neglect any of the secondary stats, because besides the obvious direct influence, there is alsi alot of indirect stuff going on which includes mastery and to this often is not looked at.
I find that stacking Haste/Mastery is better since you have the 10% crit buff for flash heal, greater etc from the talent Renewed Hope, and since the tank should almost always have Grace or Weakend Soul up on him I find that stacking crit is absolutely useless. My opinion however, open to different points of view :) Last question, is Atonement healing better or not? Which spec is best for mana as well? Great vid :)
@NatSmish I think if you dont have mana issues than use [Burning Shadowspirit Diamond] but if you do then use [Ember Shadowspirit Diamond](54 intel 2% maxium mana)
In a 10m setting rolling atonement wouldn't be wise to 2 heal, and depending on your comp, your substats really vary. I two heal with a hpally most often and i stack mastery > crit/haste are even. For a fight suck as yorsajh heroic, my greater heal crits proc a heavier absorbtion during hard purple phases so we don't require as much healing on a single person - along with unglyphing the bubble prime glyph that provides a heal upfront - you can bubble spam then. ~great guide for 25m tho.
Indie i was wish you could come on the EU realms, and teach me how to play disc spec. I do play a night elf priest, but she is holy and i do have fun with the amount of healing i do in holy, but I would like to learn disc but really dont know which route I should take. Smite healing or Non Smite healing? What do you think would be best?
Hello, I am not NEW to healing, but my disc is now 83 and i am wondering constantly if I am doing anything wrong. Now people are not constantly dyeing or anything, but it seems everyone has there own way of doing things. Does this sounds right: (i forget what its called but it heals a little damage taken when taken) then instantly after i bubble, then when they are hurt selectively spot heal with heal and greater heal and occasional penance. and do this EVERY time we pull agro. is that seem ok?
Is the mana system still so messed up ? like, 5k mana fora flashheal, where u go OOM after 1-2 groups of mobs in a normal dung? cause thats why i quit when cata came out .. it was impossible (for me , hence) to heal , even in normal dungeons! please reply and tell me if its better now and whatever's been added/fixed/removed. im thinking about starting a priest again, if things r better now as a priest.
First, let me say I am new to WoW ... however being a cleric/priest player for ... ever in D&D, its my primary class. I am curious what the major differences are between Holy and Disc priests ... as I have at least been able to figure out what is unique about a Shadow priest ... dealing damage. But any quick synopsis of the different kinds of WoW priests are much appreciated.
I find it strange that you would favor crit over mastery. Crit has been almost universally panned by healers. Even with disc, I think mastery is a better throughput stat than crit.
atm i'm 85 disc, but still struggling with normals sometimes.. tho i am healing (for the JP rewards and money. NOT for real) in full pvp gear, but still i have 3k mp5, and about 23% critchance groupbuffed, but shit haste.. i'd love to heal heroics and raids, but i know im gonna fail anyway XD
exactly what i had, back when cata first came out .. its ridiculous. flash heal 5k something mana, wow really? tank took damage like crazy, and so did the party.. byebye mana after 2-3 mobs..
It is not.. It simply was impossible to heal after cata just came out .. I tried healing again recently without using flashheal, it's do-able, but with the retarded tanks on my server, it's sometimes impossible to keep up..
That's really ignorant. Flash heal is your, "OH FUCK!" heal, and should only be used as such. It isn't wotlk, the mana system isn't 'messed up', you just aren't healing correctly.
starting out is always going to be rough, the more vp/jp/LFR gear you get the easier it will be :) also its probably not your fault, the gear level and skill of the others in your group may also make it harder on you as well. ( tanks tanking in pvp, or dps gear and such, people standing in stuff/tunnel vision) so a combination of those will make it a bit harder.

Finally a very good guide 4 disco healers. Something similar i built on my priest and its keeping on top since patch hit :)

we miss you indie, you made me an awesome disc =)
As a raid healing disc priest myself, i am curious, what percentages should my Haste, Crit and Mastery be at? This is always confusing to me.

tank took damage like crazy, and so did the party.. byebye mana after 2-3 mobs..
for 25mans i find my self spamming shield to use up some mana with the spine trink and tsunami =p
My mana is burning sooooooooooo fast when im spamming greater heal like you, what is wrong?

I tried healing again recently without using flashheal, it's do-able, but with the retarded tanks on my server, it's sometimes impossible to keep up..
