Perfumes dont expire. If well kept they will last for years. Keep them where it's cool and dark. Light will fry a perfume. I cringe to see them all sitting out like that! I have perfumes from when I was young that were properly stored and they smell like they did when I was young (60s and 70s). I have a 50s bottle of Chanel #5 that smells glorious. Protect your nice collection !
The sound of the bottles clanging is just so relaxing! My mother loved "Shalimar" & "Tweed" perfume. I love "Green Tea" by Elizabeth Arden. I remember one called "In love" by Hartnel which I had as a sample spray when I was young but I've never been able to find that since. Absolutely loved this video. Thankyou Laura. Much love X

I tried it out recently and it smells very strong at first, but when it settles down it turns into a warm, spicy sweet smell. Still wouldn't wear it on myself, but I can appreciate the work that went into its development.

I like many of these. Shalimar is my favorite. I was told I was an old soul when my high school beau asked me what he could buy me for a gift, and I answered Shalimar. Lol. This was in the late 90s. The ones you don’t like - life is short - consider selling those.

I enjoy your perfume videos. I wear a little perfume every day, since the pandemic began and everyone was in lockdown. Right now, I'm using Sweet Crush by PDC brands.Its a cheap, three dollar perfume I found at my local Walmart, but it smells so good. I feel that wearing a little perfume every day is a great way to get in some daily self care.
Blue Waltz used to be gifted at Quinceañeras for girl turning 15. I know many of my friends and my oldest sister were gifted that perfume for their Quinceañeras.

It's a well known fact you should never rub your wrists together as it burts all the scent cells Whereas they are slow releasing throughout the day. So by rubbing your wrists the scent wont last as long at all.

I have a lot of these perfumes but the thing is I almost prefer to smell them in the air coming from someone else wearing It verses me because it’s true a lot of them vintage scents are a bit too strong for me. Also if you can read about Habanita by Molinard. That one is a old perfume that also brings you right back to the time it was created. I think in the early 1900s

It's wierd how on some people's chemistry are so different from others. It seems that some perfumes can smell really good on other people, but if I wear them they just don't smel good on me! ( And they smelled so good on the other person, that I really wanted them to work out & they didn't!) I'm lucky that the Elizabath Taylor Diamonds Collection work for me. I used to wear Tabu, when I was in my teens & in my twenties. I haven't tried it in years, I don't know if I would like it now, as the perfumes of today are so much different .I'll have to try it out at a store & see one of these days. It's been probabaly 40 or 45 years since I have worn that kind of perfume!
I saw my beloved Arpege in your video. I hate the new formulation, but I was able to find and purchase a small bit from the 1963 formulation. I love it. I hate Charlie. It used to be pretty good in the early/mid 1970s, but it's not anymore.
I use Florida Water even if it's a men's splash and buy it at the local carribean grocery store for $5. In the 70's I found Bal a Versailles at a discount store for $5 a small bottle, didn't suit me.
Shalemar good old days was so good but the new version not so good Yves Saint Laurent Paris I'd recommend it as vintage elegant and u still can buy it today no regret 😉 not cheap but worthy

They’re not cheap but they last forever, I have some that are ancient, from the 1920s And they still smell lovely. Penhaligon’s make some nice perfumes too but they are weak and very expensive. My Nan wore Youth dew, it is a very heavy perfume I agree! I’m really liking Bronnley’s new fragrances at the moment and durance. Both are very cheap to buy but certainly don’t smell it x
I brought a bottle of Delicious in June. 4117 do a solid cologne stick and had a cool version for summer. I have box set of that Britney one. Penhaligon have a shop in Covent Garden in London and sell online. I adore Guerlain perfumes, they have really good noses, that's the people who create the perfumes. My favourite Chanel is Allure. The girl in the sixties song Where Do You Go To My Lovely, wears Balmain clothes. Perfumes last longer if you keep them in their boxes. I prefer the more modern Dior perfumes, try Dolce Vita. I have a rose and oud perfume that the Queen Mother was said to have liked, it's very old fashioned but it's very strong. My favourite Elizabeth Taylor is Black Pearls, but I also like Violet Eyes. I have a tiny bottle of Joy. The most expensive perfume I have is Bizarre which comes in tiny black bottles. Try the more modern Charlies from the last decade, like Silver or Shimmer, they are much lighter than the original seventies ones. ❤️

I love perfume and I adore so many scents on other people but I can't tolerate many on me personally because I struggle with migraines. However, I do have Guerlain La Petite Robe Noir, which is my go to, and it doesn't make me ill. I do like rose scents, Penhaligons does Elizabethan Rose and it's probably the only one of theirs I can take as they're hefty scents. Listening to you chat about perfumes though, I might try more Guerlain as I do love the brand, and might try some of the lighter fragrances you seem to gravitate to as I feel we have similar tastes in scents? My mum used to wear Youth Dew and I cannot handle it.. thankfully she moved to Beautiful which is less harsh, but still, Estee Lauder perfumes linger too much for me. Loved this though ❤

I see the shalimar perfume you have looks exactly like the shalimar Legere? Is that the one you have on your collection? I saw that the shalimar is sold rn has a different presentation and also completely different notes compared to the shalimar legere

@@rainicascadia5514 I remember going into restrooms & they had perfume machines that you could put coins in for perfume. White Shoulders was always one of the perfumes that was always in the machines. It was a very popular perfume & it does smell really good! Do you have to get it from a perfume counter or can you it in the drug store now?

I dont like to buy perfumes from singer or actors.i for me is vintage .like cashmere mist.also i like Jadore and If course Channel Coco Mademoiselle. And i kive Estee Lauder. I used the bidy powder. I lime this one it reminds me of my favorite aunt. I remember her buying it in 1978.tes i agree with you ut has a strong sence.

I bought that one back 30 yrs ago. And i love it.i dont like the one Mus.i bought onces i was in a cruise and a lady i met on tbe trip i didnt like.i dont stick to one perfume. My favorite is Channel Coco i live it.i also like Cashier Must and Jodir.dont know if am spelling right.but the other favorite is Estee Lauder and theres another Estee Lauder is called Youth Dew Vaporisatu again am sorry about my spelling. This one comes in a glass bottle it a brown color and it has a gold ribbon. I dont like Charlie its to strong. Alit of grils back then they used it it was1976 i was the Disco lady.those are my favorite the reason i like it my favorite aunt used to buy it alit.plus the Dusting powder. Estee Lauder

@@Laurajaneatelier I honestly have no idea how they get their videos, but if you look up, "uninentional asmr" there's one channel with a sloth as it's profile picture. I don't like intentional asmr. I like it when people talk intentionally about a subject without trying to do asmr. Those channels feature those kinds of videos. I guess I'm just trying to say that this video is hella relaxing but if you were trying to relax me, it wouldn't work. lmao.
