Why not just use the scroll wheel? I have kinda small hands and the scroll wheel works wonders. Once you get used to it it can be more effective than using numbers.

If clay farming is not considered dishonorable, then sneakily shooting ores while dodging fireballs from a distance is absolutely fair game. It's a perfect example of brains over brawns. (and it's amazing how versatile SV is. This heart-attack inducing mod is for the same game where I relax at the end of the working day by planting sunflowers and placing goofy hats on my virtual hat rack kids)

I hate using the hotbar as well, I have larger hands but I can’t focus on WASD and the hotbar. But, I prefer scrolling actually. My mouse has a scroll wheel that is fairly accurate and I can feel it bump with each individual scroll-click.
Same. I play a lot of combat games and always used scroll wheel. I can easily and accurately scroll to wherever i need without even needing to look at the hotbar. That of course means i know my mouse well and i have wasted absolutely too much time on the games... maybe using buttons for specific slots would be faster, but no. I refuse.

I absolutely refuse to use keyboard or switch my mouse into the discrete clicky scroll mode, so over my thousands of hours of wasting my life on games I've gotten insanely good at judging where I need to scroll to. When I found out my mouse was discontinued I almost cried because I know it so well and it's so perfect for me but I also know I'll need to replace it someday. If I ever use someone else's computer I always try to use my side button macros even if they don't have any buttons on their mouse lol. What mouse do you use?

I think some companys sell smaller key boards
as a console player, it takes me seven clicks to get to my cheese 🙃
That's what i liked about the mobile game, it changes the tool automatically which i found very useful in the mines
