I LOVE YOU! Quick, simple, clear and to the point! Now I can present reports in a nick of time! Keep up the good work, you are a damn good teacher! Cheers!
Your tutorials have been a huge help to me with my business activities! Thank you so much! I've learned more in one day than I did attending a 2 day seminar.
I wish I had find your videos last year when I was struggling in gradschool. However, I am sure i will be able to implement this fantastic learning experience in the future in a dream job I'm looking for. I never noticed the importance of learning Microsoft office until a few days ago that I figured I need to master them before I qualify for many many positions. Many many thanks.
Thank you, one thing I noticed that most people on RUclips who give tutorials, don't upload sample XLS files. You may want to do that going forward with your new tutorials - just add a download link to the sample xls files :) Thanks again for the tutorial.
Nice intro video. Pivot tables are a nice way to quickly summarize data, particularly currency values. Another option not mentioned here was instead of summing the dollar figures, you could set it to count the instances of a value in one of the fields.
AWESOME - thank you very easy to understand........Wonderful. I would say if your going to make it more professional (I do audio recording) you ought to get a USB mic of some sort b/c the built in mic on the computer is not that good........Just a positive sugguestion b/c I really loved the video and it will help me sort my data more effectively....Thanks. I think youtube should include a built in spell check for these comments.....hahah
I don't believe this is possible. The pivot table function is going to use an aggregate type function. If you are able to find a way to do it please let me know. Thanks
What's that thumping noise in the background? Sounds like someone's running around. I've got my headphones on so it quite distracting. Not complaining. Just pointing it out. Thank you for the tutorials. It's been a while since this post, but this stuff is very useful.
Once you've summarized by salesperson, how do you sort sales (by salesperson) from say highest to lowest or vice versa? Also do you have a website or a email to contact you directly? Thanks so much!
can you help? i want to make a similar pivot BUT i want the pivot table to present text not 'sum of' or 'count' each unit produces a weekly report for 5 weeks i can make a pivot table which sorts by unit on the row and then the week in the column but the only option is to sum or count or stdev etc of the results in the result cell, i just want the text of the "answer". eg. unit 1 week 5 "result" should read "xg654rf" unit 3 week 2 "result" should read "54r+hyt--^" possible?

Will pivot tables work if the cells are formatted, such as for currency or percentages?
@sidz832002 refer to tutorial 8. he mentioned it near the end of the video.
Hello Rick, thanks for the information but I was curious to know. How do you 'un table" a table created??
What's that thumping noise in the background? Sounds like someone's running around. I've got my headphones on so it quite distracting. Not complaining. Just pointing it out. Thank you for the tutorials. It's been a while since this post, but this stuff is very useful.

can you help?
i want to make a similar pivot BUT i want the pivot table to present text not 'sum of' or 'count'
each unit produces a weekly report for 5 weeks
i can make a pivot table which sorts by unit on the row and then the week in the column
but the only option is to sum or count or stdev etc of the results
in the result cell, i just want the text of the "answer".
eg. unit 1 week 5 "result" should read "xg654rf"
unit 3 week 2 "result" should read "54r+hyt--^"
possible?
What if you have a situation where the data in inputed horizontally?
Thanks
Is there a short cut to sort by
Why is it called a pivot table?
Is somebody hammering in the background?
Lol look at the names of the people how bought the cars:
