- A Massachusetts mom is grateful to the pilots and crew who saved her son on a cruise ship. Aiden Parker and his family were enjoying the cruise when he was stricken with a life-threatening perforated intestine. The U.S. Air Force scrambled two choppers from a base in Florida and flew nearly 400 miles across the ocean. The rescue operation required three midair refuelings before the choppers landed in North Carolina. Parker was rushed to the hospital. Inside Edition’s Les Trent has more.
Props to the U.S Air Force for saving the kid

That's something I would never forget, being saved by the US Air Force is an achievement in life for sure, If I were him id be worried that they might forget his mom that's the only thing that would be worrying me not gonna lie!
gotta get that platinum somehow 😬

@@eggbenedict-gt7mwexactly
Hey I don’t think calling for help is hard work, unlike whah the US Air Force had to do, they did most of the planning, flying, had to refuel more than once. So don’t tell people that the us Air Force weren’t the ones doing most of the hard working… not to say the ship didn’t need to work hard either but I surely believe the military had more to think about and do in such a short amount of time.

I'm active duty Air Force. This is a warming video, it really is. However, to all of the people who will say "he will join the Air Force," no he won't. He won't be able to. I was almost denied entry because of a thumb injury I had when I was 3 years old, and I had to spend a good month or so collecting all of the paperwork from (then 20 years ago - 2022) showing that I was in fact "able bodied." Thankfully I did not require a waiver, and my recruiter even tried her best to get me in as well. I have a friend from Security Forces technical training who was kicked out after our SF graduation because of an eye problem. Dude was a distinguished student and top performer and all. (He's now a cop down in Florida.) Now, imagine when this kid tries to go join the Air Force. And with our new medical system for recruitment, everyone is getting denied for something. This kid should pray for a waiver when he grows up and if he decides to join, His PULHES score will not be all 1's across the board. I'm not saying this to be mean or to put us down, but I have personally seen people get rejected for ridiculous things.
Yup. I joined the Marine Corps in 2002 after graduation. I like many of my classmates joined after 9/11. We lived just outside NYC so it was deeply personal to a lot of us that we serve. I got blood clots in my leg during basic training. They kicked me out. I was devastated but now I work in healthcare so I get to serve in a different way. I just hope he MAKES a full recovery with a perforated bowel. That’s no joke. Mom didn’t sound like he was doing great. Just better than he was. Stay strong buddy. You got this!
I couldn’t join because Im a dual citizen of 🇺🇸 🇳🇬
Thank you 🙏 for this. information didn’t know it go along way for many young women and men that would like to join US Air Force Australian Air Force. I am in Australia writing this respect services Cheryl Melbourne Australia.
I mentored two high school students, both class of 2005. Both intended to join the Marine Corps. First was a physical specimen, three sport athlete, smart and well grounded. He was denied due to 40% hearing loss in one ear. Second was also intelligent, great athlete and raced motocross. He has all sorts of physical ailments, broken bones and metal rods holding him together.... today he is a Marine Corps Captain and a pilot. Go figure...
Kudos to YOU for speaking the truth buddy.....❤
That’s the first time hearing of the Air Force doing something like that, well done.
For the US Air Force Para Rescue it's just another day of saving lives.
This happens pretty often for the Air Force and coast guard.
Careful your ignorance is showing. Shall we start citing operations? Didn’t think so.
@@Alckee6904 There's no need to be so aggressive when all the comment said is that its the first time they heard the airforce doing something like this, not that they do nothing.
@@Alckee6904Get off your darn high horse! That was so mean spirited and rude! It’s always easy to tell when someone doesn’t feel important in their day to day life when they go out their way to down someone to make themselves feel better. That was so unnecessary!

Sad but that’s pretty badass at the same time getting saved the Air Force coming to you in a helicopter 😂

Great job on behalf of the ship doctor, and the people who coordinated with the Air force. Get well Soon buddy!
Props to the doctor on the ship for diagnosing. He may have been the Person to call for the air force.
Seeing those people clapping for the kid gives me hope
It’s no fun to be taken off the cruise for an emergency because of being severely sick. The U.S. Air Force did a great job taking Aiden carefully to the hospital by helicopter. Feel better soon. May this gravely sick boy be on the road to recovery. 🙏
If I got to tell people that the US Aii Force deployed a helicopter specifically to save me I wouldn't even be mad about it
I feel like not only was the USAF saving a life, they were also training their people. Plus it makes for good PR, which no doubt helps recruitment. A win-win across the board.
Exactly
Exactly this, it's a significant training mission for those airforce crews. You get aerial refueling, the pilots get time behind the stick, and the I'm guessing PJ's get to practice the evacuation portion of going down to the ship and bringing someone back up.
ive been lucky enough to have gone on quite a few cruises. this is actually more common than you would think. ive seen more than a few coast guard helis rescue crew members and guests.
props to the pilots and to the air force! what a huge operation for one sick teenager! mad respect.

that is so strange for a 12 year old to get that. glad hes ok
Respect from the us air force
These types of rescues aren’t unusual. Especially with how many elderly people go on cruises.
It's usually the Coast Guard who flies out to rescue people. I guess the ship was too far and so they needed the refueling capability of the Air Force helicopters.
God bless the boy and the Air Force❤
THANK YOU!!!!

I bet that kid will have pretty awesome respect for the military now and when he grows older! Glad he is doing OK!
Same thing happened with my grandparents. They were on a cruise to the Bahamas and a young male on board had a heart attack. The coast guard helicopter had to come to the ship and they saved him.
Respect to all the military!
Now this is the story I need to see daily!
I hope that he has a speedy recovery.
😬 let’s hope it’s free, my friend got air lifted for an emergency too and three months later he got a ten thousand dollars bill. Luckily a charity help him pay all of it and he was so thankful.
This is so awesome !
Props to EVERYONE including the Ship crew from the Ship Captains and his crew, the ship medical personnel doctors and nurses. All medical teams on the ships. Everybody is was on the ship. And the Air Force for stepping up when needed. I know the Coast Guard can do this kind of missions but I don’t know if their helicopters can refuel on air. Maybe that’s why the Air Force stepped up to carry out this rescue…… hats off to Everyone was involved…. God Bless America 🇺🇸
Coast Guard helicopters can't be air refueled bcoz they lack a refueling probe (the stick on the right side of the helicopter) that's why the Air Force was called.
Great practice for the military, as well as a critical mission.
AMAzing it’s like a movie. Salute to the military.
