@@ThePotterCollector there is a new German edition of the philosophers stone out . I bought it yesterday (I speak German by the way ) ❤ and the new edition looks so much better than the original German copy .

I'm kind of just sat here wondering if anyone is ever going to translate HP into languages like Klingon and Elvish. I mean, you can actually learn the languages, right? Hmmm....

I think at least Elvish is not a full language. The vocabulary isn't developed enough to translate a whole book. It is functional only in a universe like Middle Earth and a time period like that of LotR. Also today only in light conversational level. Nevertheless I would love to see that too...
Gary M. Actually there's a man in one of the Scandinavian countries (I don't remember the details right now) who translated parts of Bible into Elvish (Quenya) - I think he did the Gospel of St. John and maybe Apocalypse. But it's true that the vocabulary isn't full and it would need to be developed to translate HP books.

That's why Jk is rich. Don't get me wrong I LOVE Harry Potter (and he can do his thing) but for me this is extreme it's the stories that count.
its not that extreme. most of these are just the series translated. I think its amazing that she's made her books so available for everyone across the world.

Haha! Indeed it is! I usually wait until I have a bunch to do at once. Check out one of my older videos: "Organizing 950 Harry Potter books" which shows how I have to move everything around.
All my bookshelves and DVD shelves are alphabetical. Once you get the hang of it... moving them to fit more is pretty painless (but I leave a few spaces for expansion). 😎

I would LOVE to get in your Library, I literally cried when I saw the German Book signed , because I’m German . I really enjoyed the trip and hope to see some of these Books in my live , because I got the German ones and one Englisch

Yeah! :D Two Indian languages are exceptionally rare (Gujarati and Malayalam).
The Potter Collector My mother tongue is malayalam, yay! Kannada is also an Indian language, spoken more than malayalam i guess, maybe you can find a translation to add to your collection!
Unfortunately there isn't one available. :( Hopefully some day they will translated the books into Kannada. :D

You must be earning too much money. I can't even think of buying all these. I only have one edition of each of the Bloomsbury books(including Hogwarts Library) . And, only one house edition of Philospher's Stone. The Ravenclaw one. You're lucky mate!!

The Potter Collector I was surprised to see that there are so many German editions. I only have the original ugly hardcover version from the late 90s/early 2000s back when they were first published and my mum read them to me🤔 I find their design really ugly and I didn't know that so many languages just kept the original british or american design for their editions

RUclips's recommendations is messed up because I haven't searched up anything Harry Potter related in ages. Anyways, I respect your dedication to Harry Potter. You have books from languages you probably don't even know, and I definitely didn't even know this many translations existed. You have my full respect.

some of the covers are soooo beautiful. I only have one main English set, the 20th anniversary Gryffindor editions and one book each in French,, Lithuanian, Dutch (pocket edition Goblet of Fire which is stunning) and German

I'm actually sad these won't be reaching the hands of potential readers, but still love it, too.
True they will never reach potential readers, but will be seen by many fans who might not have been able to experience or see them otherwise. I do a lot of local library displays and my ultimate goal is to open up some sort of museum or exhibit. They don't just sit on my shelf. :)

Those are the Vietnamese "comic books". Basically each book has 2-3 chapters and they released one book a week.
Well, it's the very first version in my country. And im extremely suprised that he got this version, which I believe one of the most difficult version to collect bcuz of its quanity

Haha definitely a bit crazy here. :) I have always loved to collect and when I fell in love with the series and then discovered there were different languages, covers, editions, it was natural I would being collecting. :)

I'd like to have such a collection of my own one day, as I'm highly interested in languages. I currently have the british english series, the dutch series (i'm dutch), and a few in some other languages, for example in latin or french. I'm sixteen, so I'm already proud of my small collection 🙂

I didn't know there were that many editions of Harry Potter. I have The Order Of The Phoenix in the Australian/UK edition and in the American edition, both hard back. All of the new Australian paperback editions. The Philosophers Stone 20 Years Of Harry Potter Magic edition. I have Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. They're hard cover editions of The Philosophers Stone. I've also got 2 other Philosophers Stone paperback (not sure what editions they are) and I have The Philosophers Stone in French

Aww fragile Hagrid. What a fantastic collection! That German set with the different symbols is so cute, I always feel like I should get it... for no reason, really. I'm German so I got the first 4 in the original "Harry looks at the camera like he's on The Office" hardcover editions, but by the time GoF came out I was reading them in English, so I never had a complete German set. Are you going to collect all the different editions in each language as well?
I highly recommend that German set. It's lovely... especially since you are German! :) I am trying to collect as many different editions of the translations as I can.

Isnt it pointless to spends thousands of pounds on the same book? I mean get the leatherbound and paperback and hardback editons if you love them so much. But you literally have hundreds of the same book! To each their own i guess...

It’s a collection. People spend thousands on sealed comics they will never open, toys they will never play with, or games they will never open. It’s an obsession. Some people need to be obsessed with something.

I also have book #1 in Irish. I'm learning Irish and that's my first book in Irish. 7:10 2 from the big 6 are from India, while being a Harry Potter fan from India I had never knew that the books were also translated in Malayalam and Gujarati. It's awesome, you got a museum right there man, love it!!
Omg this is so awesome I am a Asian Indian who speaks mayalaylem (though born in America) I wasn’t expecting my language to be called during this video. This shows that Harry Potter is so big in this world that it even reach into Kerala, India.

I've read them all about 40 times in English and a few more times in Persian.
