I think it's just that he has to concentrate when he has to give an interview in English...it doesn't come as naturally and he has to pause a lot; I think in a lot of ways the effect is similar to being drunk! No matter how fluent you are, it never comes as naturally as when you speak in your native language. If he was drunk I don't think he would give have such intelligent insights. Oh, I love him!
