    I really enjoyed watching the deck build and tent setup. I have a White Duck Regatta 13 bell tent and will soon be purchasing a lot, so I had already been thinking about the setup. Your video was very instructive, and I love your style (If us boring old guys can be said to have a “style”😂) New subscriber😊

      Questions...Do you get much wind there and if so how does the yurt hold up to that. Also do you keep your food in the yurt or do you have a food box outside the tent like campgrounds do to deter animals?

    Iv spent a lot of time running a yurt/ tent business and I can give you all a few bits of advice.
    Keep your tent tight. There should be no sag on any angle. Sag leads to moisture and moisture leads to mould.
    Always dry your tent. If your planning on packing early you will need to erect your tent again in 48 hours or the mould will ruin your canvas.
    Other than that they are awesome

    Love this. It's long been a dream of mine to get a patch of woodland here in Wales and do this. I have a 5m bell tent that I use to camp all year with the family, we have a Swedish cast iron stove, which heats the tent up really well. Liked the tips on the decking area for the guy lines. Did you put that stove jack in yourself? Thanks.

  • @iceman256
    @iceman256 2 года назад

    Wow..nice setup 👌 It would cost a fortune to build that deck,with the price of lumber these days. Yeah! you need a bigger stove for the size of the tent. I would go with Bereg lrg stove,has glass side with heat protection panels,sides and back( can be removed) but pricey. I have the Bereg UP2 hot tent with med stove and insulated underpad. Also added 6x9 vestibule that zips to the tent...also has a stove jack. You can store your skidoo or ATV or store wood,extra gear,cook...ect. Best hot tent ever owned. Thanks for the share 👊 💥 🇨🇦 💥👊

      I was going to purchase a Bereg Up2 hot tent, but wasn't sure how it would be in the summertime if using full time. Decided on a canvas bell tent. But I just loved the insulated floor in the Bereg (and the pop out door!)

    Thanks for making this awesome video. Does the bottom of the tent get moldy? Does the wood deck help the tent bottom's condensation evaporate? Because the tent bottom is plastic, right? Wish I could hire you to build my deck!

    • @OutdoorsMyLife
      @OutdoorsMyLife  9 месяцев назад +1

      I built my deck with spacing between the boards to enable water to drain and not to cause moisture build up on the base of the tent, the floor of the tent is plastic and does not get mouldy.

      Purposely attracting birds into your campsite by feeding them is going to get bird sh#t all over your expensive tent !
      Waste seed on the ground will attract rodents.
      How ... are mice getting inside a closed tent to chew on things inside IF ... they haven't chewed a hole in the tent ?
      You'd better invest in a cat.
