when I was 12 my family of (then) 11 moved into a tent about this size in a small community in the mountains. we had no electricity or running water and cooked in an outdoor kitchen. we later setup a rainwater collection system and had it uphill for natural water pressure. it was rough, for sure, but I'll never forget those days roaming the forest and living off the land. the coyotes would come down the river at night and circle our camps and I'd go on long walks with my dog dreaming about what native Americans once roamed those same cliffs. Hi pal: It is soooooo nice to hear a most genuine account of your most special adventure there. She retired a head of a children's hospital having gone to med school of pediatrics when I was just five years of age watching "The Sound of Music" at least 36 times.
I want to live like this with my husband and dogs and grow a lot of food in a warm climate but sadly I can't in America. You have to own the land here and I don't know where I could live like this. But I really wish I could find a place to live like this ........it would be just pure happiness for me and my family
I'm in the United States too n in Oklahoma....I'm working on my tiny house now and hope to get some land here in a few years to move to....approximately $3000 an acre, a little rich for me at the moment; but, hopefully I'll get there with my little home 🙃Me, my dog, n my cane (that I use for walking....Good luck to you
I think you are mistaken. The US is one of the easiest places to live in nature in. (because of the sad fact, that most countries in europe don't really have any nature left...) You should look at Ted Kaczynski or Glenn Villeneuve for inspiration. Both were able to live off grit without alot of money.

I'm living in a yurt in the oregon forest I can only imagine how amazing itd be to get a small yurt in your spot! You already have what looks to be a good platform! You're awesome!
Thanks! However a yurt would feel to permanent for now :-)
You are real your videos are greatly appreciated. Thanks for your honesty.
He's inspirational. Love it.
Congrats for your courage, resilience and mindfulness. God bless you
A pure inspiration. Thank you for inspiring me

👍Wow! That’s terrific. 💝 Good for him! It’s an opportunity / adventure of a lifetime. 🤗💞🤗 So glad he told us @21:13 how he got that “life changing couch” to the tent....that’s the one thing I was most curious about. 😂
#ExploringAlternatives love love your content!!! This guy is so honest and humble !!! I especially appreciate the fact he is Vegetarian!!! Love his bell tent and the idea of making it onto a boathouse sounds phenomenal!!! All the best to All !!!🙏🌿🏡🙏
What a gentle spirit he has. I’m glad that he is so self aware and will know when it’s time to be around people more than he has been this year. He would be a great person to hang out with!
Congratulations mate, you are living a beautiful life. Some stunning videography too!
I would love to live truly off-grid some day. An axe and my wife with me. Starting from scratch in the middle of nowhere. That would be my dream.
This is what everyone is missing and looking for once again, true freedom.
I want this kind. Just simple and appreciate life, nature and everything.
We can do it together.....
Thanks for sharing! Never regret any second spent watching your videos.
I will do this real soon! This us ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! 👍🤙
I love it, but I can't do cold weather like that 🥶. I love warm weather. I love his idea, to put the tent on a floating platform. Always wanted to live in a floating house/boat 👍. Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it 🙂. Many happy travels to you, Jojo. 🛶
Thanks!
@@MyNorthernStory You're welcome 🙂. I subscribed.
For only having done it for a short time he's defiantly got it well established! The first couple years is when you tend to make all the big changes as you figure out how to optimise things.
Wow. That was beautiful. Great production work and great subject to film.
whoa this really inspired me to start my own adventure! I always wanted to live alone in the wild for a while, maybe for 3 weeks or a month in the beginning to test the water
Go for it! Start small and increase knowledge and experience then even bigger endeavors become possible after a while.
Amazing story, this gentleman is inventive, nature living and rugged! Thanks for sharing his life with us!
What a beautiful location!!!
Hi pal: It is soooooo nice to hear a most genuine account of your most special adventure there. My aunt graduated in an Austrian med school and is still mad that she didn't accept Austrian citizenship.
I'm in the United States too n in Oklahoma....I'm working on my tiny house now and hope to get some land here in a few years to move to....approximately $3000 an acre, a little rich for me at the moment; but, hopefully I'll get there with my little home 🙃Me, my dog, n my cane (that I use for walking....Good luck to you
@@tandiparent1949 3000 dollars to buy the land or rent it?
I think you are mistaken. The US is one of the easiest places to live in nature in.
(because of the sad fact, that most countries in europe don't really have any nature left...)
You should look at Ted Kaczynski or Glenn Villeneuve for inspiration. Both were able to live off grit without alot of money.
This is also the life I Inspire to have. 😊
@@tandiparent1949 $3000? Are you missing a zero?
Thank you so much for putting this video together and sharing it great work my friend your one lucky man, kind regards Roy from Australia
“Inner Calling” ♥️
Man this guy is so earth loving. I worship this kind of person that will try what is very hard to see how he reacts to living a very different life. Yes humans are in need of social contact. That is a hard thing for me that can be without contact with people. I think he is very brave, like our ancestors. Support his You Tube is good.
Beautiful!!!! I would love this life but not live alone.
What a life you got!! Outdoor is my dream!! Thank you!!
It's perfect for an introvert that doesn't like people! 🤭💕
I have a similar plan for my retirement years! This was a beautiful video. thank you for putting these stories out there.
You need a dog for friendship. And to talk to.
Yup! Definitely need a dog.
100% agree!!
It would be nice but what would he feed it? By his own admission he's not sure if he could catch a fish let alone hunt.
@@candyclews4047 dog food? If he can go out to get his own food he can go out and get dog food
Or a cat ! It can hunt for you !
I really like this guys attitude. He's not militant about what he does and doesn't think his way is the only way.
All the power to this guy.
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart.
👍💡Another note: For the floating raft... he could make it like how pontoon boats and catamarans are built (on floats / tubes). I wish hima the absolute best. 🤗💞🤗
Kudos to your adventurous spirit from the Yukon Canada
Amazing 💛 Great inspiration! I like the concept, but I think it's not for me because I like shower too much :D Myb after some time I would adapt to a bucket :)
Thank You for the story!
Keep on the good job on expanding human minds - that it's possible to live in other ways!
Ilze Izadora Vidžupe ::: Try it, you might like it! You would be amazed at the treasures that living with nature offers. There are solar showers!
@@dallimamma Yes myb someday - when I meet someone crazy enough to do it with me :) currently I'm living in a house in the middle of the forest. I love nature, but I'm still bit scared of Her 🌱🤗
Dude you rock I just subscribed to your Channel I got to say you are living the dream I love how you have solar setup just so that you can play the piano I also play so that's really really cool! I feel not just because I play but the piano was one of the most emotional instruments that you can play I'm sure that the forest animals love to hear you! And you know what covid-19 has nothing on you! So I look forward to watching some more of your videos I have recently downsized in my life as well moving full-time into an RV and saving all of my money so I love your whole video way cool! :-)
Fallit asleep to that slow german voice like a purring kitten
You have almost 2 million subs! How could you possibly be short on money!? I live in a 536 sq ft cabin in the forest in NY. Love the isolation. I see people when it is my choice. I travel in a RV in winter chasing 70 degrees.
I really respect your tenacity and ingenuity!
He is absolutely NOT off the grid, but I can tell you, he is the PERFECT amount of off the grid. Amazing, really :)
How so?
This is what I was thinking.
Congratulations on living life successfully as a nomad and for inspiring the beautiful music you created. I am so jealous of you're ability and dedication. I will be doing the same, once I am able to get my elderly mom settled into a full-time dementia care facility.
Wow. This guy JoJo is truly living out a Bizarre Adventure.
Wow, what a beautiful way to live. If you have someone there, your life would not be that lonely.
wow interesting life style human think of.. I guess as long as person is happy why not.. good luck and be safe..!!
This is so awesome. “Leave me alone world “ kind of living.
This is popular in Los Angeles too except the island part.
jrhensel don’t forget pdx
LOL
I would love doing this for, like, a year or fifty.
Now, how to get the wife and kids on board? 🤔
Thanks for posting and sharing. I really enjoyed listening to Jojo.
After living with my wife and daughter and then having my mother in law with us for the past 10 years, I have a question. Do you need a roommate?
Mate I feel sorry for you as I lived with my in-laws when building my house and never again.
I think buy a dog kennel and move your in-laws in that and make sure you put the kennel at the further part of you property.
Jason S tired of living with women???😂😂😂
@@FarmerElson 😥😭😭😭
😂 there are still some islands left on the lake. I can put up a flag for you.
vOn art's i live alone now....no need for a man.
I wish I was younger and had a friend like you. I would have loved to have adventures like yours. Enjoy your life wishing you wonderful adventures, stay safe!!😊👍💛🙏
Thanks!
I like his raft idea at the end.
Very nice! Great filming and editing!
Into the wild 🍀🐸✔️
Love that movie
I like this guy hes a real go getter. Genuine guy doing what he loves to do and lives how he wants to live. All the best
If I lived out there I’d be constantly trying to expand it like survival mode lol
