Interview by Pierre Gutiérrez
Video editor: Renzo Gutiérrez
My favourite metal singer ever. Was blessed to tour Australia with The Haunted and Peter was class act, and a beast on stage. Extremely intelligent man
Was that the unseen tour? A friend of mine got the backstage pass for the Melbourne show, and Dolving wasn't there. He had contracted flu just before or when arriving in Australia, and had slept something like 4 hours since arriving in Australia. So on 4 hours sleep after two live shows, he came onstage and He. Absolutely. Slayed.
Absolutely agree! Peter Dolving is on another level. I hope he gets back into a band making music and poetry. He is the man.
The Haunted is sooo underrated…. All albums where great in my eyes… I can sincerely listen and not have a want to skip any song because they are all great… with regards to the front men Marco and Peter they both are truly great and they definitely’bring it … I love it all!
Yeah man, it's a shame they dont get the recognition they deserve!
Peter is an amazing talent. He has cemented his legacy with his stellar performances on The Haunted albums.
He is one of the best in the history of metal. Sadly so underrated.
Great interview! The thing with Unseen is that you need to read the lyrics while listening to it (just like The Dead Eye by the way). It's such a dramatic album I love it. Peter was the most unique and recognizable singer of those times.
I totally agree with you! Thanks for watching please share!
Big Haunted fan, I always preferred Marco and the heavier Haunted albums but I have since changed my preference. The Dolving albums have so much emotion in the lyrics and his vocal performance is stellar. Could be my older age as well but the last few Dolving albums grew on me and I now find them to be incredible.
Hell yeah Damian!!! Hell fuckin yeah!!!
With Marco it's classic metal, good, but dime a dozen. With Peter it was something that was unique and special to me. The Dead Eye especially.
I really fwll the same thinng about Unseen. Disappear is the most beautiful song ever! Peter is not just a singer. He is a single person who makes the difference. Thank u, Peter!
You are so right, Wilfred!! Pete wasnt just another metal singer doing growls, he sounded like a HUMAN BEING EXPRESSING HIS EMOTIONS. Pete is one of a kind!
and.. Unseen is a beautiful album.
Love Peter!! Miss him!!
People need to recognize that artists are complicated and that they have a lot of angles to their art. Some fan bases need to chill and just be on board with the platform for which artists stand instead of their many styles of art
Uno de mis cantantes favoritos. Qué interesante! Estaría bien que pusieras subtítulos en español, se entiende bien pero se lo facilitarías a la comunidad de habla hispana 🤘 gran trabajo
My biggest inspiration poetically and lyrically.
Wish you would have asked him about his very brief involvement in Craig Locicero's band Dress The Dead. Peter wrote the incredible song 1969 with Craig and did 1 show and then never returned Craig's emails or calls again. I'm sure the distance was a big issue but it still would have been interesting to hear Peter's side. The song was redone with the new singer but the original with Peter is amazing and cannot be located on the internet anymore sadly enough.....
I wanted to ask him that but there wasnt enough time despite we talked for 1 hour. Pt. II coming soon though. Stay tuned!
@@rocktalks5706 did you ever happen to download the Peter version of the song and have it on your computer somewhere? Would love to get a copy if you somewhow do. lmk \m/
@@damianhealy300 sorry man I dont have it. It was a Great track!
Peter's English is absolutely perfect. and 'The Unseen' is an absolute banger of an album. It is very introspective.
Yeah UNSEEN is a really amazing album. I dont understand why you are surprised about his English. He speaks that good since forever...
My Shadow is one of the most haunting The Haunted songs ever. I love Marco but Peter’s vocals were just that, haunting.
the unseen album was a twist, but personally liked it a lot. the reason why a lot of people did not like the album is simply because they only like the music because the beat slaps and not really what the lyrics and the song are about.
like kendrick lamar for example his good kid maad city album was so good his next album to pimp a butterfly was trashed simply because girls could not twerk to the music and i am not lying that is what twitter was saying when the album dropped lol.
Exactly man. The lyrics on Unseen are AWESOME.
great interview. also daath are coming back.
Thanks man! Please share!
And yes, DAATH will come back soon. I got the chance to interview SEAN Z and Jeremy Creamer from DAATH last year, we talked about that. Check it out!
Holy shit
Peter is a legend and he still has the game and mojo :) !
Pete is one of the best! I hope he return to music soon
@@rocktalks5706 let us try to convince him ;)
I did not discover the haunted until the dead eye album, I think peter was the best singer for them and really love all the albums he was on, no disrespect to their current music but the haunted dosent even sound like the same band without him (guitar, bassdrums etc) its a shame things didn't work out between all of them.
Totally agree!
como extraño a Dolving en The Haunted, pero tambien me gusta como suena con Marko aunque no es lo mismo
Piensoo igual!
Ouch, audio is rough but I’ll do my best
Yeah, sorry about that. Pete got his volume too loud. Please try subtitles if it´s too annoying. Thanks for watching!
@@rocktalks5706 I actually got used to it - didn’t affect the interview too badly. Thank you so much for this. I saw The Haunted in Spokane WA 1 month before dime died. My favorite concert
Peter has amazing voice. Interestingly enough, my most and least favourite The Haunted albums are with him. I loved the faster/more aggressive albums with his vocals. But he also encouraged the band to make softer music which I didn’t like that much. When Marco was back for the second time, they did better songs (although Marco Aro’s vocals weren't in par with Peter IMO).
Thanks for watching!
Unseen is a great song. Very In Flames sounding but still great
I dont know about the In Flames comparison, but definitely a great song!
@@rocktalks5706 oh its not a question. Its all In Flames groove there. 100%. Maybe you're not familiar with the IF era that was Reroute, Soundtrack and Come Clarity but the guitar groove on Unseen is spot on (the song, not necessarily the album). Either way, its not a bad thing. Those In Flames albums are killer although not as heavy as the earlier stuff. Kinda like what we're saying with the Haunted.
@@damianhealy300 sure, musically sounds similar but vocally Pete is a million times better.
@@rocktalks5706 oh sure, just referring to the music
I detect a little Jordan Peterson sound from him. And JP intelligence as well.
Weird..I have the interview with Peter where he states he left the haunted originally becuse he was making too much money and wanted to stay on swedish welfare...lmfao now he's a fucking CEO? Lmfao
I think you meant he WAS NOT making too much money.
@@rocktalks5706 nope. He was making TOO MUCH money and was at risk of being taken off welfare. He quit to stay on welfare. Well known fact actually lol
I prefer the Dolving albums by far, but he always sounded terrible live. The band was always sloppy live with him on vocals. They were always able to lock in w/ Marco Aro in a live setting
I disagree. I had the chance to see The Haunted live with Dolving and he was great. Although I do believe that Marco's style is more easy to perform because it's more flat unlike Dolving's which is more emotional.
Yeah, he was one of the best metal vocalists I've seen live.
@@rocktalks5706completely different style post Dolving. Yeah it’s flat.
