Hi! Thanks a lot for this video! I'm also thinking about getting a 701 and equip it with a rally kit. Did you ever consider the Aurora Kit? It also looks like it's good quality, and they also use the OEM KTM tanks!

Hey Christian! I have no idea if you have seen it already, but I answered your question in yesterdays VLOG.

Once more here: I never really considered the Aurora. Not because I dont like their kit or think it's bad, but I trust my feelings and first impressions whenever I can, and kit690.com and OMEGA were the ones I felt it would be "the right thing" to choose from. ...and I didn't get disappointed ;)

Hi! Yes I saw your Q&A video and was (positively!) surprised that you answered my question. Thank you for that, I'm looking forward to seeing more videos from your vlog! :)

    Hi!
First of all, awesome serie! It’s sad that you discontinued with the videos!
Can I ask you what brand of tools do you use? What brand of bike lifter have you bought? Thanks

Thanks! Still thinking about continuing. There's still terabytes of footage on my hard drives. The tools are nothing special and I don't stick to one brand. Wouldn't get the cheapest stuff, but for private use the high end tools are overkill. We've got a tool shop around where I got the bike lift (Powerplustools), but I don't know if the brand is available internationally

Odd. I thought the Kit690 and 701 were advertised as "bolt on" and "no modifications to the frame" but you had to drill several holes and/or re-tap some.
    Good video btw.

Cool that you liked the video!
The kit needs minor modifications like drilling 2 holes into an already existing mount in the frame. I didn’t expect this myself, to be honest, but in the end it wasn’t anything complicated and done in minutes. As the tanks are KTM stock and made for the 450s (afaik) it‘s totally understandable that they don’t fit without this small mods.
About the “advertised as bolt on” thing: When I got in contact with Jon from kit690.com the modifications that are necessary to mount the kit were one of the very first things he informed me about. Right in the first mail. To me this was super fair.
When I started the build I had the option to go back one day in mind, but now... The only reason I can see why I could want to go back is to use the kit on another bike, and I don’t think this will happen (as long as I don’t crash and destroy the frame, but in this case the mods aren’t a problem anymore ;) ).
My personal opinion: Don’t let the necessity of a few minor mods get in between you and a build of this quality. Meanwhile I’ve met a few other riders with different rally kits, and almost everybody was impressed by the kit690 kit - compared to theirs. I don’t say I know them all, I’m far from this, but from what I’ve seen there are just 2 kits on the market I would buy. One is the one I have, the other one is the Omega kit which was too pricey for me (much higher price, plus it’s from outside the EU where I live in, so I would have had to add round about 23% taxes in total). And afaik it comes without the rear tank but uses the stock one.
Please correct me when I’m wrong

It;s still a good kit, just the advertisement is a little off. Thinking about getting the Omega kit myself next year.

If minor mods like drilling a few holes are a deal killer with one of these kits , you really need another sport. The mods are literally nothing.
