      @Gryphyn3 Год назад +2

      None. These aren't yachts. They are boats. The difference between a yacht and a boat is that a yacht, can actually carry a boat on it. A Boat cannot. None of these in the videos are yachts.

    • @jeanmaldonado301

      @@Gryphyn3 Technically they are yachts because they have a cabin where you can sleep. If they can carry a boat or not doesn't matter like look at a sea ray 340 sundancer as an example, thats a yacht, it has a cabin but you can't put a boat on it

    I see a lot of arguing in the comments "if it has a berth it's a yacht", "if you can overnight it's a yacht". We overnight on my center console that doesn't even have a head. The ONLY thing that designates whether or not it's a yacht is the Coast Guard rating, my vessel is CG rated for 6 people, a yacht will be specified on the CG rating for the vessel. If it is a yacht it will clearly state Yacht Certified on the mandated Coast Guard placard. Yes we also own a yacht certified vessel and can send a pic of the placard if needed.

    Lot of idiots in the comments here. Anything with overnight accommodations is technically a yacht. Some may argue that the boat has to be of a certain length but all sources do not agree on that being the case.
    The most basic definition is as follows:
    A yacht is a sailing or power vessel used for pleasure, cruising, or racing. There is no standard definition, though the term generally applies to vessels with a cabin intended for overnight use.

    • @seanmartin2382
      @seanmartin2382 Месяц назад +1

      Wrong, the coast guard defines what a yacht is with its certified placard. If your vessel does not have "yacht certified" on the CG placard than it is not one, and you have a capacity listed.

    • @ashleighelizabeth5916
      @ashleighelizabeth5916 Месяц назад +1

      @@seanmartin2382 that's nice, there is just one problem with your definition. There are boats in other places in the world besides the US. So whatever the US may define as yacht it will have no bearing on that definition in Australia, or Europe or Asia or even Canada or Mexico. As I've said to others, your definition may be ONE definition of a yacht but it is not the ONLY definition that is applicable.

      Biggest problem is where do you plan to keep it? Liveaboard space at marinas is becoming harder and harder to find and when it is found the price is steadily increasing. The alternative is anchoring out which presents a whole host of problems including getting goods, food and water to your boat, limited bathroom facilities and a need to get your holding tanks pumped out regularly, generating electricity (to say nothing of getting cell or internet service) and the fact that a lot of areas in the country are really cracking down on people who live on their boats at anchor.
      Believe it is or not it is actually easier to find long term space in an RV park and RVs are normally cheaper to buy and to maintain then a boat. Biggest drawback with RVs is that unless you get one with slide outs your space is going to be limited to a width of 8 or 9 feet at most. But slide outs create there own problems and make an RV cost more too.

    so all these boats are not yacht but just boats is all. like i have said the minimum size any boats that are able to be called a yatch is if its 37 feet 6 inches or longer anything less then this are only called a boats not yachts at all. if you do not agree with what i jsut said then thats your problem not my problem at all for i have built yecht with my dad and i and he had to register his boat as a yecht for they have told him any boats that is 37 feeet 6 inchs long or longer has to be register as a yecht not jsut as a boat they said if it was less then 37 feet 6 inchs then he would have to register as a boat. so ya size does matter just like not all boats are called ships unless they are over 100 feet long then they are call ships and now days yes some yechts are being built longer then 100 ft long so they are both what they call are super yechts and a ship. why they are called super yechts becouse it just sound better then being called a ship so some time back they had comes up calling them supper yechts is all when they are ships.you can not call a boat that is 37 feet or shorter are all just called boats. like i said if you have a boat that does not meet the 37 feet 6 inchs long thats your problem its just a boat thats on you not me lol.

      @@randyscott3386 I know a good deal more about the subject than you do jackhole since I've actually been involved with the pleasure boating industry most of my life. The key is what constitutes overnight accommodations. For purposes of insurance and title registration overnight accommodations mandate at least one permanent berth aboard, a permanent kitchen/kitchenette with cold storage, some type of sink for sanitary uses and cooking equipment, and a permanent bathroom facility with both a head and some type of facilities for indoor bathing/showering. So no a sleeping bag, a BBQ grill or propane camp stove a portable cooler and a bucket do not qualify as overnight accommodations. @@ashleighelizabeth5916 Here you go :
      There are two main types of NMMA placards you will see on recreational vessels. For boats less than 26 feet in length (and all pontoon boats), a ‘Capacity Tag’ is used, listing NMMA and U.S. Coast Guard safety standard compliance statements and information about the max capacity of the vessel. Vessels 26 feet or larger will have a ‘Yacht Certification’ plate with compliance statements, but no capacity information.
      The main reason for this difference is that federal law dictates that all vessels 20 feet or smaller must contain capacity information. NMMA takes a more conservative approach and requires any NMMA-certified vessel under 26 feet to have this. Currently, there are no federal laws regarding capacity management for larger vessels 26 feet and longer.

    Glame TOP 5 you do know anything under 37 feet can not be called a yacht in the first place for a boat or ship to be called a yacht needs to be at lest 37 feet and longer. you do know this right for the one all the boats you have in this video the numbers that in the name of the boat is the number of how long it is in feet so if you hear some one say the name with a number like 28 in it that means that boat is 28 feet and like i have said to be called a yacht it needs to be at lest 37 feet long or longer. soo all this ships are not yacht and is just a boat. its the same thing when a boat is called a ship it has to be over x amount of feet that is larger then 37 i think not sure for a boat to be called a ship it needed to be at lest 197 feet long.
