I try reasonably explain to potential clients that you don't want to throw good money at bad and just because you FEEL wronged doesn't mean that you necessarily was.
Hi Maven I hadn't watched wrestling in years until watching your videos. Just wanted to say your videos are fantastic. Even your responses to comments show what a humble and amazing person you are.
I love how this is ultimately a story about making sure you get your priorities straight if you care to make a big choice and to weigh your pros and cons.

If anyone expects to be rolling in the millions after the suit is settled is going to be sorely disappointed. After court costs and legal fees there nothing much left.
Hey Maven, I met you at Lowe's of Paterson a little while ago, I was working and you were talking to Jim in paint (who apparently you know!) I'm not gonna lie I was a little star struck and our handshake wasn't the best and you said "nah we can do better than that!" And shook my hand like a pro 😂. It probably would have changed the relationship to the style of content Maven has become an absolute king of. Everything he says/does on the channel is very genuine and paints the WWE in a pretty fair light. It's a personal look at things and you can see he has a lot of gratitude for the opportunity and has worked hard to do a lot with it. As much as he was entitled to pursue that if he wanted to, especially with the ongoing pain from it he has said he knew the risks and understood the trade off and a lot of it was decisions/risks the boys chose to take together. I hope WWE still hold him in high regard especially with what he's doing now on RUclips since it's definitely keeping us older fans reminiscing about the brand for sure
Would be really interesting to see your take on labeling wrestlers as independent contractors. Right now there's a lawsuit from a few former AEW wrestlers who claim they where mislabeled as independent contractors, and if they do win, it could set a precedent and make it so most wrestlers are categorized as employees. It would also be nice to see your take on unionizing wrestling
Its a holdover from the territorial days, just became really handy during the worldwide expansions for the company to do that so they got to keep even more money. Remember in the 80s, they fired Sgt Slaughter for asking for it. But I think the time has come for wrestlers to be treated as employees properly.

@@ray5549 Pretty much. The difference is that with wrestling even more egregious than MMA. While MMA fighters are a lot more likely to get injured than wrestlers (unless someone botches something), they only have a few bouts per year. Zero interest in wrestling entertainment, but... completely hooked on this youtube channel. As honest as anything I've seen on youtube (at least appears that way to me). Well done Maven!
Having Maven become one of the best wrestling content creators on RUclips was NOT in anyone's bingo card ... But its such a pleasant surprise. Dude is humble, charismatic and full of interesting stories and insights. Wish nothing but success.

Absolutely love this channel! All the behind the scenes stories were a big reason I decided to give WWE a real honest watch in the summer and now I'm a total mark, great shit
I think you made the right call on the lawsuit Mave. Had a lawsuit for my dad after his passing. Took years. Lots of stress. Lots of tension and worrying. Had a price put on his life that was much too small the same way you said you had to have a price for your health. Then the lawyers take most of it after that the government. (Not even talking about taxes.) It wasn't worth it.
Hi @MavenKHuffman, the thing I enjoy the most in your videos is your honesty and positive attitude. Thanks for always sharing exciting and entertaining experiences from your life as a WWE Superstar. You've always been one of my favourites in the ring and now I respect you even more!!! Keep up the good work Sir!!! Cheers!!!👍👍👍
Love this fella and his content. Just missed his run as I ducked out of wrestling around that time because I was getting to the age where it wasn’t cool anymore. Now I’m 36 and WWE is killing it and I’m too old to care what people think of my hobbies anymore. Got tickets for my second UK house show next month and finally gonna see Kev and Randy and am beyond pumped for it. Dude has built a big following with his honest, down to earth content and I bet loads of us would love to see him in a ring again in some capacity. I think his success is down to his positivity, a lot of ex-wrestler creators just want to bitch about the industry and air grievances, Maven’s videos are a refreshing change.
I really have respect for maven specially during these times when its very easy to blame WWE he doesnt blame them for anything he always takes responsibilities of his failures such an inspiring and positive character

Thank you again for providing such great content and insight on your history with wrestling. I always look forward to your videos and on days like today when im struggling watching your video helped lift my spirits.
Don't ever join a class action lawsuit, 1. You give up your right to sue individually, if the class action fails, 2. You're not in charge, you cannot reject a settlement and sue for more, 3. Any money awarded will be split between everyone who joined the suit after lawyers get their cut, there could be 50, 100, 1,000 or more people who joined, lawyers get their cut then whatever is left is divided between those 50, 100 or 1,000 people
I got like 12 bucks from the steam lawsuit and for me there was no downside since I never planned to sue them anyway. I used it to buy a game from Steam.
Maven you're one of my favorite wrestlers, for being genuine. I'm dying if cancer. One of my dreams of this world would be to spend a day with you. I love yoy mavon. You make me push the next day.
@kingfwogger I don't get the hate for AEW. Yeah it can be extremely bad at times, and seem directionless, and ratings are in a huge decline, and matches seem very scripted, and .... what was my original point?
@@bobtheslob2246You're forgetting how the company was built on spite from Stardust's Cinderella Story, it's a money sink hole, and its fans are slovenly man-children who never leave their bedrooms who feel it's the "next big thing" when, at best, it'll sit somewhere between TNA and WCW. There's plenty of reasons to hate it
I got involved in a lawsuit against a former employer, and they ruined my life even more than what was being done to me when I worked there.. People will go to great lengths to ruin you if you find yourself involved in one of these things. Thanks for being honest about how your situation may have gotten you to get involved if it had been a different time.. When you're desperate, things like this are extremely tempting, and I was too weak at the time to turn it down. I wish I would have seen this video at the time.. would have saved me many years of humiliation and irreversible damage to some relationships... Money is never worth it, even if your flat broke with a broken down car.. They'll kill your dignity and self respect if you don't do it yourself, and there is almost no way to combat them, because the people who come after you never do it directly, it's always through the people you know.. Lawsuits against former employers is a no go, don't ever do it... unless it's like a really bad injury that's crippled you permanently, and they're refusing to help you.
Honestly if I was you, I wouldn't sue WWE either. You can make a lot of money as a WWE, and not to mention the regime is very different now than it was 2 decades ago.

Maven, just wanted to say I really enjoy your RUclips channel. I found it randomly and subscribed right away. Just wanted to say that your content is so entertaining and informative. Keep it up good sir and I’m glad you’re having a career renaissance.
2:48 is how i know everything he said is truth..
Seeing you drive around Providence is so cool Maven, another great video!
Is he in Providence RI? I live in RI and his background looked familiar to me
The injuries are part of the job, I would think?
It's a rough contact sport, so how?
Yeah I agree. I left a comment here about why I wouldn't sue, but I just simply didn't wanna ramble on for too long, so I didn't mention this reason.
All the respect for you Maven, I love your attitude and the way you take responsibility for your choices. I cant even express how much more you give me hope in humanity in the age of professional victim hood
Right decision. Don't risk your relationship with the former employer that could easily bring you back...
But seeing Ryan Sakoda mentioned... the guy passed away 3 years ago. Yeah... that's a bit unfortunate.
bootlicking mentality.
@@benkylo8015 No. It's not like that. It's more like "Why put blame on the company when you know that it will cause problems to your health?".
Yeah, because WWE has NEVER brought back anyone that's sued them. 🙄
@@acerimmer8338 true. But still... Better not even try the luck.
@@teo_heelI think it’s more of if no one fully knew the extent of concussions etc then who can be held liable? But fuck the employer it’s about being fair
Was great meeting you at New York Comic Con Maven! You are such a nice and genuine guy! Keep up the great work ❤
I honestly admire how loyal Maven is to the WWE. Even though he got fired, I think we all can tell how much love he still has for the company and the business. Glad he came to terms with everything involving wrestling.
Mad Respect for the decisions you made Maven, you are a stand up guy. At the end of the day I would've backed you up
Hey Maven, guys here
Thank you again for providing such great content and insight on your history with wrestling. I always look forward to your videos and on days like today when im struggling watching your video helped lift my spirits.
Great appearance on the Piers Morgan show Mave, really gave a good account of yourself.
Keep up the fantastic work, the future is bright.
You think a individual can win a lawsuit about a international company that has billions?
Maven you're one of my favorite wrestlers, for being genuine. I'm dying if cancer. One of my dreams of this world would be to spend a day with you. I love yoy mavon. You make me push the next day.
Hey Martha. Thank you for your kind words. I'm so sorry to hear that. Please email me at mavenkhuffman@gmail.com
Just watched the Pierce interview- love your insight Mav!
Clearly, Maven doesn't watch AEW, because there are wrestlers taking unnecessary chair shots.
Why would he 😂
@kingfwogger I don't get the hate for AEW. Yeah it can be extremely bad at times, and seem directionless, and ratings are in a huge decline, and matches seem very scripted, and .... what was my original point?
@@kingfwoggerWhy would anyone?
@@bobtheslob2246You're forgetting how the company was built on spite from Stardust's Cinderella Story, it's a money sink hole, and its fans are slovenly man-children who never leave their bedrooms who feel it's the "next big thing" when, at best, it'll sit somewhere between TNA and WCW.
There's plenty of reasons to hate it
Peoble still watch that?😂
I got involved in a lawsuit against a former employer, and they ruined my life even more than what was being done to me when I worked there..
Imagine having a storyline to revive tough enough and Maven will face the winner like a final test. Love your videos Maven. 🤘
Can someone at WWE grow a brain and hire Maven to be a GM or manager?
How the heck arent you on commentary or bringing back the days of ol' Mean Gene doing interviews or something. Youre just so good in the mic and camera.
Love the videos!
