Pompey fan here, great result for us and great performance by the team and fans. Thank you for all the kind words about pompey and fratton park. I do have sympathy with the fans who travelled down for the early kick off and I agree that lampard not clapping the fans at full time was out of order.
Hi Alex. Good video and that's the sort of match Pompey fans had away at Derby last weekend. So it's a very hard time being a fan of your club when you have day's like this. I'm sure you'll have better days to come but it's not every match you come up against Callum Lang. Pompey fan here. Great video. I have followed my team for over 4 decades, so I get how you feel, especially after getting up at the crack of dawn. Pompey often start slowly. So, we feared the worst after your first goal. Our goalie deserves a lot of credit for keeping the deficit to just one goal. We have got a lot better at home lately. 10 points in 4 games 10-2. So I have heard similar analysis from Bristol City, Preston and Norwich fans, too. We are hard to play against at Fratton. I thought your number 10 was really good first half, but Coventry just gave up second half. I hope to make it up to Cov in April. I live on the Isle of Wight, so I won't get home after a midweek match before 5 am.

Your team battered us & it should have been all over in the first 15 minutes. You were very let down by your team, especially in the second half. I totally agree with your analysis Alex (apart from the Chicken Balti pie comment). I'm a Pompey fan and was in the same Milton End as you. It may be the worst you've seen your team play this season, but it's the best I've seen mine play. So when those two meet, the end result is inevitable. Home to Plymouth next is the perfect game for you to bounce back. Good luck with the rest of the season though bud and great travelling away support for that early kickoff 👏👏

Cov started strong (even though it looked clearly offside) but they weren’t ready for the potency of Callum Lang ( wow that guy can play!!) he was first to every ball , out jumped Covs defense and even slotted one in as he was being dragged down by his shirt. Collins had a stinker of a game but frankly as you said the whole defense needs a shakeup … it’s been a problem the whole year…. Again thank you for recording and posting for us long distance fans … Not the Christmas present we wanted but don’t let it spoil the whole holiday season… Merry Christmas to and yours mate .. Really enjoyed your video. Not just because as a Pompey fan you have a talent we ith very good presentation skills . We lost 4v0 to Derby last week yet the manager came over to the fans to thank them. I hope Frank takes note and realises how important it is to connect with the fans and show some appreciation for all the effort and money they've made supporting the team. It wasn't long ago like us, Coventry were in division 2 and you've come such a long way and I'm sure you will get it right sooner rather than later. Your fabulous club! Wish you all the best.

Strong memories of one particular bloke in the stands at Highfield Road spending the entire match lambasting Steve Ogrizovic from right behind him. "Useless, Oggi! Yer USELESS, Oggi!"
You had a bad Saturday and we know what that’s like. It could have been different. Great support as usual from your lot and please give Plymouth a going over for us. Still not sure what Robbins had to go but you have watched all season so maybe the change was needed. I have a feeling however that Rooney and Lampard magnificent players but not sure about coaches. Ref aside, the result was down to a poor defensive display and the lack of taking chances early on. If basette scores the second… I think a different game but your fans were class, Lampard not clapping the effort you all made is a joke though
Pompey fan here, as much as I loved yesterday… I feel for you and the other 2000 that came down with you. Great set of fans you have and if Basette scores at 0-1 then I think the game goes your way. Your keeper was at fault for the first and third goal. I think the defence have to take the blame for the fourth goal, Lang was nowhere near the ball and your defence didn’t even notice him run past them for the fourth. The second was a top finish from Lang. Obviously we all need the points in every game but this performance sums up some of our form this season, we’ve played well in a lot of games and sometimes (namely games like Plymouth) we’ve performed like this and lost 0-1. Infuriating. The team have clicked now and Derby aside, seen to be on the right path. Pompey staying up I think. As for your sky blues, will be a very different game when we play you in April… I expect Lampard has connections and I think you’ll make some tidy loan signings to see the season out with a better fortune going into the business end. I hope we also can manage to put some daylight between us and the drop zone! Best of luck for the season (until the day we come to Coventry haha)
Pompey have needed their fans this year. They are not that good but are doing things without breaking the bank. If they play like that for the rest of the season they will comfortably be mid to upper table. Coventry fans travelled well to fratton and the ground provides a great atmosphere. Pompey fans are easily the best home fans I've seen. Coventry's players were scared shitless of the noise and with each mistake it just got compounded and louder. There will be alot more harder games than Cov but alot of other teams will fold under that noise too
I thought George Long was the worst keeper in the championship but he’s got competition in Brad Collins 😂 reckon those players have been on easy street all season since Viveash left, there are no leaders on the pitch at all
What’s your view Alex on taking the arm band from Sheaf and giving it to…..Bidders? I can’t really point to natural shouty leader in the squad, but bidders seems the most well placed. Revert to three at the back, play Bassett as a 10 (for a few games) and pray we can get some quality defenders in to the squad during the Jan’ window.
The game turned on Bassette's one on one chance. If he scores that, its a different game. But as soon as Pompey scored, we just bullied you off the pitch. And what a dodgy keeper you've got. Fair play to your fans for getting there for an early game week before Xmas. I thought it was disgraceful that Lampard didn't bother to come across to acknowledge you at the end - our manager Mousinho wouldn't have dreamed of doing that.
Come on Alex name names. I watched it in the pub and from what I could see Bobby Thomas completely gave up and looked shot through after the third goal. Taking a CB off is a bold move by Lampard but tells you something about Thomas' mental state. Who were the other main culprits?

Bristol City are a decent side and we thrashed them, derby aren’t and they thrashed us. It seems like there is a whole mass of teams who have a go and if it goes in they turn into Real Madrid and the other turns into, well what you saw yesterday we saw at Stoke (6-1) and Derby (4-0).
One of the worst performances I've seen from us in some time, and that's saying a lot this season. Not to take anything away from Pompey, but not a single one of our players looked bothered, except Torp at times, of all people. If anyone has a shot on target with Collins in the sticks, it's a guaranteed goal. Anyway, merry christmas to you, all sky blues fans, and the pompey fans watching. PUSB.
By the way your gk wasn’t turning round to look at the fans, there’s a tv at the top of the away end showing a replay of the goal so he was looking at that rather than fronting up the fans
Shambolic from Cov, I'm still angry now. Lampard will be fully aware that this job just doubled in size since he joined. At least half the squad need to leave the club but this is going to take 6 to 18 months to fully sort out. Happy Christmas.
I’ve been waiting for your video to hear your opinion and I can’t agree more with you. But Can’t believe we are not demanding Collins to be dropped completely. Coming out to clear that ball for the 3rd goal not getting anywhere near it and leaving the goal completely open was pure non league keeping. absolutely awful. and then the 4th goal was just as bad. This man should never be put in our goal again and we will never win a game with him in it. Must be dropped out of the squad completely
Season over for us. Think we’re probably looking at a relegation battle now, at least it might make the rest of the season more interesting. Worrying that no player (apart from Bassett) looks up for the fight. Never want to see Collins in a City shirt again. Hopefully I’ve a feeling this was the end for him today re being at this club.
Get rid of Collins and Disilva , need new right back, left back , central midfield warrior. Sheaf looks like his head is elsewhere, get him on new contract if not get rid and replace him as well.
We understand the emotions, but feel you're being too harsh. Sure, Collins was definitely at fault for the 3rd one, and possibly also the 2nd, from that angle.. Then again why do players always hit the screamers against us? 9 times out of 10 those end up in row Z! Why do Cov always have to be the 10th?! But the 4th goal, why doesn't he catch it? Because then he ends up in goal with ball and all! He was rushing back to claw it out. Maybe he should have clawed it to the side, but there was yet another unmarked player there... Defense was again ball watching. Our players can and should do a lot better but somehow that high pressing Lampard mentioned in his first press conference is only happening against us? If we start to press opposing teams a bit more, THEY will be the ones to make mistakes and our defense will have it a lot easier!
Naming names is not any disrespect to the team, Alex. Some of these players are not typically ‘Robins-esque’ signings, as he would usually get the most out of players who would work and perform for him. I honestly feel that, unless Lampard can turn this around, we’re going to be battling to stay in this league. 🩵

Pompey fan here, as much as I loved yesterday… I feel for you and the other 2000 that came down with you. Great set of fans you have and if Basette scores at 0-1 then I think the game goes your way.
Your keeper was at fault for the first and third goal. I think the defence have to take the blame for the fourth goal, Lang was nowhere near the ball and your defence didn’t even notice him run past them for the fourth. The second was a top finish from Lang.
Obviously we all need the points in every game but this performance sums up some of our form this season, we’ve played well in a lot of games and sometimes (namely games like Plymouth) we’ve performed like this and lost 0-1. Infuriating. The team have clicked now and Derby aside, seen to be on the right path. Pompey staying up I think.
As for your sky blues, will be a very different game when we play you in April… I expect Lampard has connections and I think you’ll make some tidy loan signings to see the season out with a better fortune going into the business end. I hope we also can manage to put some daylight between us and the drop zone!

Pompey have needed their fans this year. They are not that good but are doing things without breaking the bank.
If they play like that for the rest of the season they will comfortably be mid to upper table.
Coventry fans travelled well to fratton and the ground provides a great atmosphere. Pompey fans are easily the best home fans I've seen. Coventry's players were scared shitless of the noise and with each mistake it just got compounded and louder.
There will be alot more harder games than Cov but alot of other teams will fold under that noise too
I thought George Long was the worst keeper in the championship but he’s got competition in Brad Collins 😂 reckon those players have been on easy street all season since Viveash left, there are no leaders on the pitch at all
What’s your view Alex on taking the arm band from Sheaf and giving it to…..Bidders? I can’t really point to natural shouty leader in the squad, but bidders seems the most well placed. Revert to three at the back, play Bassett as a 10 (for a few games) and pray we can get some quality defenders in to the squad during the Jan’ window.
The game turned on Bassette's one on one chance. If he scores that, its a different game. But as soon as Pompey scored, we just bullied you off the pitch. And what a dodgy keeper you've got. Fair play to your fans for getting there for an early game week before Xmas. I thought it was disgraceful that Lampard didn't bother to come across to acknowledge you at the end - our manager Mousinho wouldn't have dreamed of doing that.

Come on Alex name names. I watched it in the pub and from what I could see Bobby Thomas completely gave up and looked shot through after the third goal. Taking a CB off is a bold move by Lampard but tells you something about Thomas' mental state. Who were the other main culprits?

Seems harsh to add that the goal was offside 😂 sorry. Seriously, I have been just amazed by how up and down this division is. Bristol City are a decent side and we thrashed them, derby aren’t and they thrashed us. It seems like there is a whole mass of teams who have a go and if it goes in they turn into Real Madrid and the other turns into, well what you saw yesterday we saw at Stoke (6-1) and Derby (4-0).
One of the worst performances I've seen from us in some time, and that's saying a lot this season. Not to take anything away from Pompey, but not a single one of our players looked bothered, except Torp at times, of all people. If anyone has a shot on target with Collins in the sticks, it's a guaranteed goal.

By the way your gk wasn’t turning round to look at the fans, there’s a tv at the top of the away end showing a replay of the goal so he was looking at that rather than fronting up the fans

We understand the emotions, but feel you're being too harsh. Sure, Collins was definitely at fault for the 3rd one, and possibly also the 2nd, from that angle.. Then again why do players always hit the screamers against us? 9 times out of 10 those end up in row Z! Why do Cov always have to be the 10th?! But the 4th goal, why doesn't he catch it? Because then he ends up in goal with ball and all! He was rushing back to claw it out. Maybe he should have clawed it to the side, but there was yet another unmarked player there... Defense was again ball watching.
Our players can and should do a lot better but somehow that high pressing Lampard mentioned in his first press conference is only happening against us? If we start to press opposing teams a bit more, THEY will be the ones to make mistakes and our defense will have it a lot easier!

Naming names is not any disrespect to the team, Alex. Some of these players are not typically ‘Robins-esque’ signings, as he would usually get the most out of players who would work and perform for him.
I honestly feel that, unless Lampard can turn this around, we’re going to be battling to stay in this league. 🩵
