The fact that when all 5 gens are done and the injured survivor is being chased, you can use Bardic inspiration to guide your teammate to exactly where to run towards
Bardic inspiration has been my killer tamer 5000 with a average succes rate of around 90%. Ive deemed it the „Desperate musician“-tech cuz every time i try to tame the killer im A:Last one alive or B:Death hook and injured

So, just looking at Prove Thyself mathematically, it is a terrible perk per cost. The average Gen time is 90 seconds, with a teammate, including the 15% penalty with one teammate on it, it takes 52.94 seconds according to the Wiki (and note that this is if both of you start simultaneously from 0). Now, Prove Thyself today gives a 10% speed boost to other users on the gen, and does not stack, to help mitigate that cost (it used to be 15 to negate it entirely, but that's not relevant ATM). If you factor in Prove Thyself's 10%, it will change the Charges per second (or c/s) from 1.7 with 2 people, to 1.9. When dividing 90, you get 47.36 seconds to complete one gen, which means you get a difference of 5.58 seconds. Note that this is if BOTH of you start at the exact same time from 0 with no interruptions. Also note that this costs you an ENTIRE perk slot for the full match, and don't forget to factor in that Pop & Pain-Res are two of the most popular killer perks ATM. So, when you are doubling up, you are increasing risk of total time lost, and do not forget this means you are sacrificing an entire perk slot for the match in the HOPES that your teammate will even be able to join you on a generator. If you want to get increased speed, go with Deja Vu. Sure, the 6% doesn't sound as nice, but by yourself it will save you 5.4 seconds of time (not to mention it highlights the closest gens permanently through the match, seriously decreasing your risk of a 3-gen late--game.)
@@nspgcertified Yeah, when those six seconds matter, they really matter. It and Deja-Vu together should help any survivor team (solo-queue or SWF) crush three-gens.

I don't know the rules of every Killer, but here are my Bard rules: •The Survivors get one free performance collectively. If someone uses it to save themselves and it works, I won't be swayed by it again in the same Trial. However, it has to be good timing or funny. Just pulling it out when you get cornered isn't enough. Also, multiple Survivors playing at the same time, next to each other is fine. •If you sandbag, you lose Lute privileges and I will make sure you suffer while everyone else escapes. I also will not accept the lute if I notice you barely doing anything all match. Or if you purposely get my attention by clicking, vault spamming, etc •If you roll a 1, you're getting chased as normal and you lose your ability to stop me, but another Survivor has a chance to try later. •T-bagging/pointing in any taunting manner makes your Bardic Inspiration useless and I will hook/sacrifice you.
The move is Bardic Insp + Deadline (10% more skillchecks when injured) & start with a toolbox (40% more checks). Bardic Insp will pay itself back due to the highly increased skill-check chance of using a toolbox and Alan Wake's Deadline ability as you will regularly score 15+~ skill checks per generator. Or a saved (27-15=)12 seconds each time you have a toolbox or deadline active. This is EXPONENTIALLY better if you're able to buff team-mates quickly eclipsing Prove Thyself. Only downside is it's a high risk move since you need to have 15s uninterrupted by the killer. Then actually have time to do a gen. And the fact Deadline wants you to play injured, but this is something you should already be used to as survivor.
Is it really a downside though if sometimes killers just wanna jam? There's a risk and reward element to it undeniably, and it's part of the reason it's one of my favourite perks currently!
I got hard tunneled by a clown after he saw me play guitar near a gen and at my last hook I ran to a coal tower and he followed me I opened a chest md came to an empty doorway and started playing and... he left me, after that he kept downing me when I was on gens but refused to hook me, when he killed everyone he gave me hatch and told me that he felt bad, so yes bardic inspiration can change anyone!
Bardic Inspiration ALSO affects the person who used it, and can technically be used as Prove Thyself by yourself. It also lingers for the duration AFTER you use it, meaning you can play the geeeetaur and then go find someone
This perk reminds me of Good Riddance from Hades. That aside it's fun to play swf and have access to quick gen speed and faster resets to get all 4 out
haven't even watched the video yet but i agree with the title because it's my favourite perk 👍 no but like it's so funny because using bardic in front of killers have made them just let me live its crazy
I mean i wish they just revert the cooldown and 20 roll effect to back to 60 seconds because, 90 seconds for a 20 roll is over kill and its basically too much value and not being able go use the extra 30 seconds
I think there's a better middle ground somewhere. It went up from 60 for a reason. Maybe 75? But I like that the solo gen timer is the exact same, makes it feel intentional.
prove thyself doesn't affect the person using it, only the people around them. Bardic DOES effect the user, and has a range for nearby survivors of 16m. Both is also possible, but overkill
I don't think its working properly yet unfortunately. They haven't changed the perks description, so by all accounts it should still linger for 90 seconds as long as you finish the performance, no matter what you roll. Here's to hoping they can fix it soon
@@nspgcertified its 15 seconds for 2-19 and 90 seconds for a 20 roll. Read the perk in game incase websites havnt updated it. I think the only way to get use out of this perk is for a SWF to all run it with distortion and hide until someone rolls a 20 then rush the middle gens.
@Miordithar It's in the shrine rn so I got it, I rolled a 20 and it lasted for 16 seconds not 15 and not 90 It keeps lasting for 16 seconds Which is the distance it reaches coincidentally Seems like the devs maybe entered the wrong value
1:40 "It's essentially a slightly weaker version of THE BEST generator perk, prove thyself" I'd disagree with prove thyself being the best, but that aside, I wouldn't say it's a 'slightly weaker' version of it. Because, prove thyself... only works when everyone is piling on to the same generator. Bardic... can work, even if everyone's split up. Take this, Have a situation where everyone's together, maybe at the start of the game, maybe later on. Everyone working on a gen while someone does bardic, will mostly apply at the beginning of the game, and require the hope that killer doesn't have Lethal Pursuer, or just happen to head straight towards the gen you're working on. Better yet if the killer has some kind of setup power, like trapper. But if this happens more at the end game, or killer has lethal, doing this, instead, while everyone is in some corner of the map away from gens, while killer is patrolling the 3gen... Or perhaps everyone in the basement, three running an invocation, while the fourth does bardic, would also work. Anyways, assuming the bardic doesn't get a 1, and especially if they get a 20, fifteen seconds later, the four split up, and each pressure a different generator. Now, if this is happening while there's a three or four gen, especially if everyone is bringing deja to know where the gens are and get even better progress, now all of the generators are being actively pressured, at a much faster rate, each skillcheck giving a decent bonus to the gen progress. With prove thyself, everyone working on one gen, the killer just has to... chase everyone off that one gen, and kick it. With bardic, you can split your gen pressure, no one having the debuff to gen working that working together on the same gen would bring, and making the killer essentially panic, because now all four of the remaining generators are at 90%, and there isn't much they can do about it. Oh, and also, considering killers benefit with survivors being bunched together~ just in general, having everyone together, making it easier to chase everyone off the same gen, knowing where everyone is, but especially with certain killers, like legion, which is now given the opportunity to slash everyone and even down someone, or doc, who can now shock everyone, or huntress or Wesker, who might have a better time hitting someone when there's a cluster of four targets, rather than just being one, with their hatchet or bound, or Unknown, who can just straight up hit everyone at once with a single shot when everyone is grouped together... ~having everyone grouped up on the same gen with prove thyself would give the killer more of an advantage, than having everyone split up, each on their own generator, each providing a lot of their own pressure. Hell, even if you're not working a SWF, and everyone just sticks on the same gen, now able to work faster with bardic... you can just go your own separate way, and pressure a separate generator, much faster.
Bardic's is a 16m circle around the performer. I thought it lingered on anybody who heard it too, but that's not that case. I had to rewrite the script pretty heavily because of it. Prove thyself is better for gens, but it's a generator perk. It should be better. Bardic does other things that compensate though
I just played DBD Last night, they made bardic only work for team mates and u have to play the guitar for a few seconds in order to see what you number you rolled. Can anyone confirm this is the only 2 nerfs they did to it?
I believe the perk is bugged right now. Last I checked, the buff isn't being applied to anyone. I do think the slightly longer roll is intended and probably for the best though
There is something I do not know how the perk works.... The perk buff is activated for the survis only when I complete the song? ...and how long does the buff last? When I have the buff and later aproach to another survi, will he get the buff too?
other survivors nearby get the buff while you're playing, and if you finish the song, the buff stays for 90 seconds attached to you. anyone around you during that 90 seconds gets the buff so long as you're nearby
Bardic is actually bugged rn, the dice animation is really weird and delayed and when you finish the performance it doesnt even give you the skill-check buff
They put out a whole patch and still didn't fix it. Crazy. I do believe the dice animation is intentional, but not giving the buff is 100% a bug. If they don't fix it soon I'm gonna riot
Interesting video. But I still think it’s a bad perk if PTS does gen progression better and without wasting time and with no cool down. Not sure attracting other survivors to you is a good idea, as it’s usually better to split up in most cases. If they buffed the numbers it may be worth it, or reduced the cooldown for a perk that may not give you any value due to RNG.
PTS only saves you around 6 seconds. And only even does that if you and a teammate start working on a gen with 0% progress, with no interruptions. PTS is heavily overrated.
@@NotRenjiro but it’s a guaranteed help with two on a gen, whereas you can roll a bad number with Bard and it do very little most of the game. If it always did only slightly worse than PTS, but could always be used when solo, that may help it. I don’t know. These RNG perks like this and Dramaturgy don’t seem worth bringing because it’s so inconsistent.
@@danowen79 You aren't guaranteed to get value out of PTS. And even if you do the maximum is 6 seconds saved, which you usually wont even get. On average it maybe saved 3-4 seconds on each gen that you work on. Bardic however applies to both gens and healing. It also gives your team info and effects multiple people over a longer duration. PTS is not what it used to be.
I'm all up for buffing it, but being weaker that PT for gens specifically is good. Make it too strong and killers will have 4 guitars in every game, doesn't sound like a bad future to me lmao
@@nspgcertified That was never my point. I wouldn't mind a small buff to both perks. Though I think PTS would be too annoying and would need some other changes.
So it's bugged right now, but it takes 15 seconds to finish the performance. You keep the guitar out until it disappears, and that activates it for the next 90 seconds (when it's fixed)
Do multiple bardic inspirations stack? I've noticed that if you play it with other survivors your performances compliment each other, but im not sure if there is any practical effect
people get mad when someone stops them from "playing silly guitar" but this silly guitar can actually totally genrush the whole game. so yes. im not allowing survivors to end playing when i play killer. its still a perk.
Takes 15 seconds to cast, which is 16.7% worth of gen repair time (15 / 90); therefore You require 17/9/6 skill checks on a 1/2/3 performance roll to break even with casting the perk The average # of skill checks on a solo generator without modifiers is 6 The % chance of hitting more than 17 skill checks is at most 0.025% The % chance of hitting more than 9 skill checks is at most 18% The % chance of hitting more than 6 skill checks is at most 59% You can also roll a one or the killer can interrupt you making those 15 secs go to waste. Honestly, don’t think this perk is worth running preferably you would want to cancel the performance if you roll anything lower than 11. You are also incentivizing multiple people to join you to work on that gen which you preferably do not want to do in the first place as a killer will interrupt two people if he comes to that gen and you are repairing more efficiently on separate gens as you receive a penalty with more than one person on a gen. All in all the perk is fun and definitely BM worthy, but in most cases, you don’t really want to use this perk. It can be good against the three GEN situation towards the late game or if you’re truly committing a gen rush build with a toolbox with full charges and, committing to this perk with a roll that’s 11 or higher makes it decent a 20 this perk is awesome. Also tried a build with distortion so that I can fully commit to gens without having the killer interrupt me and all in all perk was ok, but nothing to crazy.
The flexibility this perk offers is really nice. If the killer is playing for a 4k, being able to double up gens with solo que teammates is really strong. If they aren't, it's just a silly little guitar anyways who cares. Also deadline or hyperfocus can push it further. I played a couple games with deadline autodidact bardic & a medkit to 99 myself. It can be as strong as you want it imo
1:40 "The best generator perk prove thyself"😂😂 Resilience > prove thyself Prove thyself is garbage here is why It gives you 10% but you already get -15% progress speed when you do a generator with another survivor which is why the progress bar turns red when 2 survivor are on it Even if you had the old 15% prove thyself it's still useless because it just cancels the passive -15% slow from doing gens with 2+ people So doing gens separately is way better, especially with resilience since it gives you 9% and there's no -15% slow down when you do a gen alone Also resilience gives you 9% to vaulting, healing, totems, exit gates on top of gens so Resilience > prove thyself
@@nspgcertified Oni is perfect if you run resilience and dead hard. Since dead hard is the only perk that will counter Oni, michael, ghostface etc. Any killer that would normally one hit Resilience isn't just a gen perk, it's arguably the best chase perk
Prove thyself doesn't work unless your teammates are around. Bardic works solo, coop, and can bring your teammates to you. Better imo but can't go wrong with either
the innate idea of this perk (wait for a buff to maybe get extra gen progress) will always be not worth it. Immediate gen progress is always the prerogative as the most important thing in dbd matches is time. While you're using the perk the killer gets closer to getting a pain res or eating through more of the resources on the map. This perk is completely nullified and overshadowed by just running a toolbox
@@nspgcertified Yeah your point on it being a perk that you can use to meet up with other survs was such a nothingburger I didn't feel the need to say anything on it. Realistically the only reason to meet up with other survs in a game if you're solo qing is to heal, there're much better perks for that.
You're overlooking it. meeting up to heal or bring survivors to a specific generator to quickly repair it at later stages in the game, or on specific gens on specific maps, it's 100% worth meeting up with your team. Especially if its a good roll. The versatility in one perkslot is the secondary attraction behind a literal silly little guitar
@@nspgcertified Again, there are better perks for meeting up with other survs and no matter what the situation it is 9 times out of 10 just better to 1 man on a gen. This perk is bad and so is your attempt at e celebrity status through miserable youtube videos
Many things happen in a trial that change what the best thing to do is. Ideally you always want gen pressure but solo Q is a different beast. If we can't agree on that then agree to disagree, but I see bardic as a way to direct teammates around. Map wide aura reading is strong. No denying it. The risk reward it offers over 90 seconds on good rolls, compared to the time lost on bad rolls makes it great for solo gens, and a bonus if other survivors come to you. Dont play the game with only the meta, it's skews the perception of normal. Appreciate the feedback, and the digs, keep em coming in the future 👍
It can be. Cooperating on actions is overpowered if you can do it effectively. Maybe bardic is meant to be the perk that helps solo Q in a healthy way?
@@nspgcertified Survivors prefer to work on their own generators for full efficiency. Gathering is how you get slugged. Making the survivors group up and use only a portion of the map is the hard part of the killer's job and usually requires fighting to cause an altruism cycle then interrupting that. Self care often feels like the 5th killer perk as this does the 6th.
I see where you're coming from, and I don't disagree. It's risk vs reward. Time management is important but so are taking shortcuts. In the right hands, certain small details about perks cause big impacts, and that goes for every perk in the game at some point. Bardic is new, let people get a feel for it before you pass final judgement 👍
@@nspgcertified Bardic is a very decent perk. It's just low EV In solo queue, and for the reasons you passed as good things. You lose a lot of time efficiency compared to other options and you tempt many flavors of snowball. From multi slugs, from giving the killer the opportunity to tunnel person and creating unsavable, proxyable hooks. I had a bardic inspiration player today try to prove out a gen with 2 BNPS. I hooked them next to the generator they almost popped and carried the slug to the hook and dropped them there after they went second as the gen regressed and as soon as I dropped the slug next to the hook both players dced. I think that will be very typical for all of the obvious reasons.
I play the game to have fun, not to win every game. I think part of the reason I'm having fun with this game 8 years in is because I accept it for what it is & always look for new ways to have fun. As long as you're having fun do whatever you want nobody can tell you otherwise. Glad you can say it's decent though. Just remember not to use those low rolls, it wastes too much time for only 1%
Very good video ❤❤❤❤ I did not know about the orreading Ability Because I always run bond lol
Everytime I use this perk. My teammates will lure killer to me.
And most killers see my play lute. They will just nod and leave. 😂
This perk reminds me of Good Riddance from Hades. That aside it's fun to play swf and have access to quick gen speed and faster resets to get all 4 out
Don't know what that is, but W connection. Great all around perk, can't say enough about it
My deadass thought this was a DnD video for a moment there
The guitar can also be used to tame the Killer. Ensuring they let you live
A gentleman and a scholar! Truer words have never been said
haven't even watched the video yet but i agree with the title because it's my favourite perk 👍
no but like it's so funny because using bardic in front of killers have made them just let me live its crazy
Never felt more like Harry Potter in my life, shits magical
It is also a good perk if you want to use a syringe. Instead of needing to put down a durability add on, you can just run this
you need to get lucky with skill checks but yes absolutely
The aura reading would unironically make this perk S tier if soloqueue players weren't all dummies.
I mean, it's fun perk, this is enough for me
As it should be. Just a bonus it's great as well
Reconsidering my acts of mercy I’ve given to survivors using this…
a jam sesh is a jam sesh
while its kinda buggy in my experience, when somebody ELSE is running prove thyself it works while your doing the guitar
prove thyself doesn't affect the person using it, only the people around them. Bardic DOES effect the user, and has a range for nearby survivors of 16m. Both is also possible, but overkill
They fixed the bug, the perk works not but its nerfed. It only lasts like 20 seconds if u role 2-19 if u roll a 20 u get the full 60 or w/e
I think the only way to get use out of this perk is for a SWF to all run it with distortion and hide until someone rolls a 20 then rush the middle gens.
nvm i read it again, trying it now.. i might be mistaken
@Miordithar
It's in the shrine rn so I got it,
I rolled a 20 and it lasted for 16 seconds not 15 and not 90
It keeps lasting for 16 seconds
Which is the distance it reaches coincidentally
Seems like the devs maybe entered the wrong value

1:40 "It's essentially a slightly weaker version of THE BEST generator perk, prove thyself"
I'd disagree with prove thyself being the best, but that aside, I wouldn't say it's a 'slightly weaker' version of it.
@@nspgcertified Wait, it doesn't linger? Could have sworn it did.
I wish, maybe one day. Perks still solid othwise tho. Def still worth@@chaoticsilver8442
When I play as the killer, I enjoy the performance 😎
very good
They could completely remove its ability and just make it where you play a lute and it would still be in all of my builds.
100% agree
There is something I do not know how the perk works.... The perk buff is activated for the survis only when I complete the song? ...and how long does the buff last? When I have the buff and later aproach to another survi, will he get the buff too?
other survivors nearby get the buff while you're playing, and if you finish the song, the buff stays for 90 seconds attached to you. anyone around you during that 90 seconds gets the buff so long as you're nearby
I mean I think it’s insanely good, so Idk if it’s better than I think?
Where is the aura reading for guitar? I cant find it in the perk description or in the wiki
It actually doesn't say. Not great videography on my part, but at 05:16 there's an example of what it looks like
Bardic is actually bugged rn, the dice animation is really weird and delayed and when you finish the performance it doesnt even give you the skill-check buff
They put out a whole patch and still didn't fix it. Crazy. I do believe the dice animation is intentional, but not giving the buff is 100% a bug. If they don't fix it soon I'm gonna riot
I think they fixed it guys!
Though I think PTS would be too annoying and would need some other changes.
i cant figure out how long i'm supposed to let the song play before we get the perk, or how to tell when it's been long enough
So it's bugged right now, but it takes 15 seconds to finish the performance. You keep the guitar out until it disappears, and that activates it for the next 90 seconds (when it's fixed)
@@nspgcertified ohhhhh dang that's so sad, i literally got back into the game and bought the bard just to be able to do this lol
@@everythingelse2294 im hoping it will be fixed soon, it's too fun of a perk to leave it broken much longer
Do multiple bardic inspirations stack? I've noticed that if you play it with other survivors your performances compliment each other, but im not sure if there is any practical effect
i don't believe so no. Each new survivor that brings bardic has a unique song (at least two unique ones)
people get mad when someone stops them from "playing silly guitar" but this silly guitar can actually totally genrush the whole game. so yes. im not allowing survivors to end playing when i play killer. its still a perk.
What if the survivor pulls it out, just for you? No gens in sight. Surely just enjoy the little jig
@@nspgcertified then ok ig
Don't know how people didn't think that if they get a crap roll they can just stop playing guitar hero
It's because once you start playing guitar hero, it's hard to stop
does the perk actually reveal your aura? wasnt sure cause it doesnt say that anywhere in description
Yessir, unlimited range as well
Takes 15 seconds to cast, which is 16.7% worth of gen repair time (15 / 90); therefore
You require 17/9/6 skill checks on a 1/2/3 performance roll to break even with casting the perk
The average # of skill checks on a solo generator without modifiers is 6
The % chance of hitting more than 17 skill checks is at most 0.025%
The % chance of hitting more than 9 skill checks is at most 18%
The % chance of hitting more than 6 skill checks is at most 59%
You can also roll a one or the killer can interrupt you making those 15 secs go to waste.
I mostly play killer. No matter the game, if someone plays bardic, I let them live.
Do you need great skill checks or does it apply only to normal skill checks ?
you do not need greats no. Any successful skillcheck will apply the bonus
1:40 "The best generator perk prove thyself"😂😂
Resilience > prove thyself
Prove thyself is garbage here is why
It gives you 10% but you already get -15% progress speed when you do a generator with another survivor which is why the progress bar turns red when 2 survivor are on it
Even if you had the old 15% prove thyself it's still useless because it just cancels the passive -15% slow from doing gens with 2+ people
So doing gens separately is way better, especially with resilience since it gives you 9% and there's no -15% slow down when you do a gen alone
Also resilience gives you 9% to vaulting, healing, totems, exit gates on top of gens so
Resilience > prove thyself
What if it's an Oni? Or the killer is running thana? Personally love resilience, but saying it's the best gen perk doesn't work for me
@@nspgcertified Oni is perfect if you run resilience and dead hard. Since dead hard is the only perk that will counter Oni, michael, ghostface etc. Any killer that would normally one hit
Resilience isn't just a gen perk, it's arguably the best chase perk
NOOOOO YOU ARE GONNA GET THE PERK NERFED, STOP HIM!!!
I promise to use these powers for good, or until they stop working and I turn to a life of crime
Does luck do anything for bardic inspiration? It should realistically :P
It should but it does not

Yep and they refused to fix it for some reason.
Not sure why they said they were fixing it if they were gonna do it wrong
To bad it's useless and bugged atm
i mean the last effect still happens, killers still love it. fr tho needs to be fixed asap
@@nspgcertified Going on like two months and it hasn't been fixed
It's not as good as Prove Thyself for Gens...
Which is why I use it with Prove Thyself
Prove thyself doesn't work unless your teammates are around. Bardic works solo, coop, and can bring your teammates to you. Better imo but can't go wrong with either
damn the dislike ratio is BAD
Like it doesn't have enough dislikes?
Shit is bugged as fuck
Once it's back I'll let you know
the innate idea of this perk (wait for a buff to maybe get extra gen progress) will always be not worth it. Immediate gen progress is always the prerogative as the most important thing in dbd matches is time. While you're using the perk the killer gets closer to getting a pain res or eating through more of the resources on the map. This perk is completely nullified and overshadowed by just running a toolbox
If you're putting blinders up and only looking at bardic as a gen perk, then yes, but it's not
@@nspgcertified Yeah your point on it being a perk that you can use to meet up with other survs was such a nothingburger I didn't feel the need to say anything on it.
Talking about bringing survivors together as if it was a good thing for the survivors and not the killer. lol
I think in time if it's left unchanged, it could become a problem but for now, enjoy the free BP
