One of the easiest methods I have seen here on RUclips for making wind chimes. Others take a simple task/project and make it 10 times more complicated than it needs to be. Well done that man. 👍👍

I made this project yesterday. Very happy. The ringing disk seemed too large so I cut another at 2 3/4. Thank you for posting.

I make windchimes also! I make them from aluminum and stainless, anywhere from 1/2 inch to 6 inches around. The longest one was about 7 feet from top of hanger to the bottom of the windcatcher. And hang them from jack chain. And I hang them so the clapper is about 1/3 the of length of pipe from the bottom. My holes are drilled at 22.4% of length to give a long tone sound. I get most my info from Lee Hites video's, and his website.
    Good job! Thanks for sharing!

Excellent video! Other videos made this so much more complicated than it needs to be. This explanation is easy to follow and not overwhelming.
I do wonder if I could paint the conduit and seal it and how that would affect the sound.

Can anyone help me out? Plan to make one for my daughter's birthday.....which is this Sunday. I am confused by watching the video and reading the directions. The images appear to be different than the directions? Are you using chain or nylon string? A 2 1/2 eyebolt wouldn't be long enough for the sample you are cutting. What is the purpose of the copper, looks or does it hold it steady? The picture looks like it has an eyebolt in the bottom disk. I didn't read anything about that? I am sorry if I come across as a complainer or dumb. I am just trying to figure it out. Thanks for any help.

I have a wind chimes that fell apart. It has no wooden base, no strings. Just the chimes or the metal bars. The bars are not hollow tubing. 4 of them are solid aluminum. 3/8 diameter.
7 3/4", 7", 6 1/4", and 5 1/2". I am going to build a new wind chimes because there is nothing to assemble to. I'll have make my own wind chimes.
