Great ol' days, when you entered to the discoteque and in front of you saw this great LP cover arts (the album won best of the month and year by German Metal Hammer, for instance, that year) and you heard the sound played in the shop too...... A storyteller can tell it.
As a 60 year old who's followed Magnum since Kingdom Of Madness days, so sad to learn of TC's passing. So glad to have seen them at the height of their popularity and again on their last tour. Thank you for the music + the memories...🥲
A testament to what a class act Magnum were. I had the pleasure of seeing them a few times and they maintained this level of quality and passion right up to the sad passing of the unmatchable Tony Clarkin.
Ah, memories revisited. SInging along with this at a show behind the bar got me asked "aren't you too young for this..."...nah. Still better than a lot now in 2021.
This is my song.... I cannot remember much of my childhood due to trauma and ptsd, but I do remember seeing Magnum in 1985 and them playing this song. Obviously so important to my that my brain couldn't forget it!! Thank you for the last 50 years and here's to many more to come.
Shit! I walk past this rock band, in Brekstad Norway when I was a young teenager about 1994. I accidently said "whos the strange bold guy doing here". They looked very confident and overlooked my stupid comment (!) I still love this band - 25 + years later!!! If I only knew back then
Accidentally made myself 3 years older than I am @AlanBarrow - it was my 18th! Feeling old enough as it is, but great memories regardless! Hope you catch you on tour this year.
Thanks for the support. Plenty of fans are listening. Join them on the Official Magnum Fan page. Here… facebook.com/groups/MagnumOfficial/?ref=share_group_link
Posted by the one and only Al Barrow himself! I must've listened to The Storytellers album 300 times, which means there's still plenty of time ahead to squeeze in another 299 spins.
Sorry I had to leave as it was a lot of fun. But time marches on. I had egg migrated and wanted to didn’t more time at home but also try new things. I had the best time with the guys for 20 odd years. We did some laughing. Lol Thank u for the comment. Enjoy the magnum music of the future.
There's a stormlamp on the table Throwing shadows to the gable And you swallow if your able On a storyteller's night From the poorhouse chimes indifferent Seven towers seven sisters Every blackheart walks the distance On a storyteller's night Try to sleep on your pillow and dream Sleep in God's children to keep Though we all lose track of time Disappears like faded lines Keep your night light burning I'll come through the wind and rain Keep your night light burning I'll be with you once again There's a chill wind at your back door And the fire cracks on the damp floor You hear footsteps but you're not sure On a storyteller's night See the night sky super nova Chase the cold moon passing over Start the dragon's fire to smoulder On a storyteller's night

Title track from the best British rock album ever recorded

It's interesting, how differnetly it's played (03:09), I expected the vibrating sparkling sound of the organ.... finally this is great too.

twotter1969 when! 😂
I know?!! I didn't recognise him!!
Great track, but if any song needs a guitar solo, it's this one.
Very underrated band. Not much stage presence but damn they can make music
How come Bobs Tee shirt keeps changing colour? Some magic trickery going on I think. One moment its blue the next its white... Great video!

Great Version. From which DVD is this?
Does this track exist in an acoustic version too?
not that i am aware
😪
What are these “faces” in the audience, which I suppose Bob Catley’s face in sunglasses? 🤭
They are exactly that. Cardboard cut outs of Bobs face that were often worn. Bob loved the attention lol.
Lots of fun.
