Meet the MG HS Plug-in Hybrid!
The MG HS SUV launched on UK roads in late 2019 and a year later this Plug-in Hybrid was introduced into the line-up as the brands first plugin hybrid model.

Just purchased an HS ICE, and don't care whether it comes from China or not. It's cheap to buy and gets to keep up with modern tech.
(Regarding the infotainment, what's the problem with big buttons? Try using some of the other fancy screens out there. Not easy!)
Great spec. for the money, 7 year warranty and there's an "affinity" programme (at least in Scotland) which gives you £££ off. Also a £500 discount just for taking a test drive.
It doesn't have to be "dynamic" or any other nonsense we've been told cars have to be these days, it just has to survive potholes and ***holes on the roads. Boring can sometimes be good, and that's coming from a VW/Audi/Porsche group addict.
Does it come with memory position on driver seat ?

Enjoyed the review thanks, I have mixed thoughts on these, I know a few people with the HS or the ZS and they seem pretty mixed in their thoughts, some really enjoy them and swear by them for the money, and some are less impressed.

Another thing is when it’s parked outside it’s less likely to get stolen or your front door kicked in for the keys like your x5 or q5 would
I'd say its visibility on the road is increasing, especially phev. It's a shame that Outlander has left...
Snobbery in cars is overwhelming if this car was badged as a different car you all would be raving at it, the mg hs provides a lot of car for a reasonable price. On todays roads you can’t race around like nutters to many cameras about and speed traps so buying a £60-70000 car really isn’t practical they are nice but the time you spend in them doesn’t really justify the price tag just to say to the neighbours look what I’ve got on pcp. I say good on the Chinese for bringing out great cars at affordable prices. Plus don’t forget most components from phones to tvs and computers are Chinese made so I stick two fingers up to the snobs who wouldn’t be seen in a Chinese car but use Chinese products every ✌🏻
Just like how nearly all phones we use are made in PRC.
I presume so will the cars we drive in the near future.
Any car that comes with plenty of “rum” is good for me 😄

Good - Glass is heavy, reduces interior roof line and eventually will leak and can be smashed

If you like terrible MPG and an awful gearbox (automatic) then buy one.
Search MG HS AMT mode and then see how amazing this car is when you change the settings in engineering mode. Takes 5 minutes. Completely different driving experience 😊😊😊
Never trust a man with a bolt upright driving position.
Not impressed agree with all the down sides mentioned especially the visibility issue that rear view mirror is a total menace.
The infotainment system has a 360 degree camera to solve that visibility issue.

MG is a proper Shit car . I have a ZS 2022 model and the battery life is a nightmare within the 1st month I was left on dual carriageway and had to be towed to the charging station. Once it gets to last 30 miles you can drive more than 10mph and after 20miles the car stops
Don't buy electric car
You're right. I have a 2 month old MG HS and I hate it so much I'm trading it in already. Uncomfortable, infotainment barely works, the tech like rain sensing wipers doesn't work properly. It might look decent but in reality it's awful. I'm taking a bit hit in getting rid of it so soon but I can't live with it.
Put some petrol in it - its a HYBRID
Drove the petrol 1.5 litre version as a hire car a couple of weeks ago and I personally hated it. I thought the visibility was bad, touchscreen was slow and my phone just refused to connect with Android Auto. Very bulky car but really not a whole lot of space on the inside. The E 'hand'brake is slow and a pain to use. Drivers seat felt cramped. I drive a Toyota Yaris normally and I find it comfy and spacious in comparison. Overall just a horrible, tacky car and a disgrace to the original MG badge.
Its hard to say if he actualy likes the car, its a cheap SUV, he is anoying.
