I never really read author blurbs. It never really made me want to read the book. I have read many books that I hated with author blurbs from authors I liked. I didn’t pick these books up because of them Shocked by the author that didn’t read the book

I'm surprised I was proved wrong. Like, I didn't think I'd get super attached to the characters but oh mannn *I love Cordelia* I also love Alastair and him crying after Thomas tells him off *broke* me . I want him to be a better person and I want Thomas and him to be together so bad. And Matthew okay matthew. I don't know how to feel about him, he's still such a mystery. I'm worried about his alcohol problems though. And then, James. Can't help but adore him, he's Tessa's and wills son, how could he be anything but amazing? I'm so glad he helped out Cordelia like that in the end ... But wish he was smarter and wish he'd figure out that daisy is hopelessly in love with him. OKAY THANKS FOR LETTING ME RANT OMG
This was such a fun idea that I greatly enjoyed, so well done! I don't necessarily look for author blurbs, but if I am picking up a book I haven't heard anything about or if I am trying out a new author and the book has a (good) blurb from one of my favorite authors on it, then I am WAY more likely to pick it up.

Honestly, until I watched Krimsom Rogue's review on Handbook for Mortals I don't think I've ever read or heard when an author wrote in a blurb. My thoughts as I flick past that section is always 'I don't care, I just want to read the book'.
I would love if you could do another reader vlog idk why but they are my favourite and are always the ones most likely to get me out of a reading slump and not to mention YOUR EDITING SKILL ARE HARDCORE AMAZINGGGGGGGGG. Thanks for your amazing videos.Honestly they are my covid kryptonite
I love this video idea, because I totally agree with you. I've never trusted book blurbs. It's the same for movie trailers when the say things like "Critics agree that this movie is the funniest movie of the year" and things like that. I'd love to see another video on this.
i do NOT look at them because it always feel like a hashtag for promoting books from their publisher or friends. i am heavy into cover art and descriptions as well
okay lets put the actual content aside. WOW JESSE PUTS IN SO MUCH EFFORT IN THE EDITING. bro the clips and the different fonts, cuts, scenes and animations and the transitions. wow its obvious how much he works on it. the editing is also what makes so many people like myself love his videos!!
Honestly sometimes if i want to read a book or series and im on the edge about it(like i dont if i want to read or if im even going to like it) i sometimes look at the author blurbs to see if any of my favorite authors said good things about that book.............................and me too i sometimes judge the book by its cover alone!!

I'm a cover buyer. But then again I also read the first and last paragraph in the book. If it makes me think, "how did we get here?!" I normally buy it. lol
I don’t look at author blurbs, for the reason you’ve mentioned, not every author reads the book. I mostly go for cover and description. This video was fun to watch though, sort of gave me an idea if a reader thought the blurb sounded accurate.
