    I'm pretty sure the EliteDesk 800 G2 uses DDR4 RAM, not DDR3. I just ordered one and looking forward to running some emulators on it in my living room with Batocera. The 4 player arcade games, such as Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara and D&D: Tower of Doom, X-Men, TMNT, etc are really fun to play with my kids. Upgrading from an old Dell Latitude laptop running EmulationStation in Win10 on a Core2Duo (it chokes on N64), so I expect the performance to be noticeably better.

    • @HumanoidMachines
      @HumanoidMachines  2 года назад +2

      Yes you’re right, it is DDR4, I do get stuff wrong now and again. Definitely will notice a difference in power, this thing will not show any issues at N64. Will play most PS2 titles but will die with games like Shadow of Colossus …. That took an i5 8500t to play perfect although it ran ok with the i5 7500t.

    Currently running Batocera on a Lenovo M73 with i5 4570T.Happy with emulation performance considering how much I paid for it.
    But for PS2 I really get best results and speed using only native 1x res, with either the pcsx2 stand alone or the pcsx2 Libretro core. Tried diff settings like for emulation setting set to safe, aggressive etc with little different result.
    2x works on some games though so its game by game basis really.
    But was looking at a Lenovo M700 which also has that 6500T 2.5ghz cpu.
    Would this be a noticeable increase in performance over my 4570T?
    I presume so being 4 cores at 2.5ghz over 2.9ghz dual ?
    Would it be able to run ps2 at 2x at full speed or even 3x?
    Would also benefit other higher end systems like original xbox and 3ds emulation I imagine then too?
    Edit: Also, would this HP800 G2 be any better than the Lenovo M700 equivalent?

    • @HumanoidMachines
      @HumanoidMachines  2 года назад +3

      The 6500T is a great chip and for me its where things start to get more interesting. I think it has a noticeable difference over the 4570T. I don't think the PS2 emulation uses more than 2 cores but the 6500T certainly will cover more ground. More games are accessible and more will run at higher rez. It still won't run Shadow of Colossus or Crash n Burn, these come in with the i5 7500T.
      Im currently working on a i5 9500T which is awesome but the improvements between generations are not massive. 7500 a bit better than 6500...8500 a bit better than 7500 etc but for me, it starts with the 6500T. Its a bigger jump from a 4th gen. Xbox etc will play good.
      HP800 or M700 with the same chip.... I honestly don't know. I guess its the one that you like the look of because they're gonna be very close.
      Having said all this, the 4570T is well capable.

      Yeah, if I didnt have one at all now obviously Id go with that 4 core i5 6500.
      But originally all I wanted was one that played systems that android boxes struggle with, namely PSP, N64,Dreamcast and Saturn, and I got that with the 4570 so anything higher was a bonus. But you know, after a while you wonder how it would be with a higher specced PC 😁. It never ends I guess.
      So rather than get a 6500 chipped PC Id think Id wait and go for higher again like 7500,so any jump would be well worth it. Price dependant too.
      At least Ill try and hold off on getting a 6500,,no promises 😁😇.
      Btw here where I am I can get the HP cheaper than the Lenovo so Id go whatever is cheaper I guess.

      From what I read on Batocera forums whether you are running the games from an SSD, HDD, usb3 or usb2 game performance wise it shouldnt make any difference, perhaps PS3 games though, not sure on that one, if your system can run them anyway that is.
      But as HM said, boot up times and loading large CD games based games would be slighty quicker, and maybe the UI.
