Shout out to Pasha for editing this video and allowing me to continue work on the 4 link :) Check out his channel!
Gingium
Gingium, are you ever going to do a Lamborghini hurican salvage build like the Goonzquad channel?
He did a great job editing, though did the editing also involve a frame drop? Your videos are often at 60fps but this one feels more cinematic at 24fps.
Pasha is an amazing editor. It’s so awesome how you guys help each other out so much.
What about a rotary swap on Molly? I believe it would be way more interesting than an already built motor.
Thing is gonna be fun when its done. 4-link is perfect for this. So much easier to do than in a sedan too.
Someone please sponsor this man a plasma torch.
Love the video, however being a fabricator I noticed a lot of undercut in your welds. Usually this is caused by slow travel speed or heat too high(amps).
I know the US’s rules are very different than over here in AUS but undercut can cause your bracing on the notch their to crack at the weld and it wouldn’t pass an engineering inspection here.
Just a future thought but still love your work and your ethic to work
Kieran Rand well luckily this truck just needs to be able to drift and does not need to pass an engineering inspection
100% correct, and I can tell you that’s where rules in the US differ to ours over here because even as a dedicated drift car it would still be required to pass an inspection.
I do admire his workmanship though.
@@KieranRand You guys have insane car laws over there! I always thought Australia was super lenient on modifications and other car stuff and not the opposite lol. In the US the DOT welding test is extremely hard to pass. From what I've heard they make you fill a big gap doing multiple passes and then X-ray it. So yeah I think the standards are quite high but I'm also not a welder so idk lol.
Whitestorm a Mig Weld ticket in Australia is also very difficult consisting of a multi pass weld however any modification to the chassis that can’t be reverted back to stock is considered illegal on a street car. Hence the large market of bolt on parts for cars in Australia but all of which still have to abide by individual state laws such as how low or high you can be aswell as how loud you can be and don’t get me started on engine swaps.
In the US we really dont have laws stopping us from cutting and welding. The only thing that matters is emissions and only in California.
So much new content, your hard work is inspiring af
Deadass.
Atomicneko umm lmao
time for fabium to get a plasma torch :)
Who remembers your old crazy neighbours
me lol
Yes that vid has like 800k views by now
Yo... for real
Good thing he has his own place now
me
Oh man. They would hate they drift truck
Maybe if you plan on doing a lot more fabrication in the future you should consider the benefits of an acetylene torch cutter or plasma cutter. By no means a requirement but it could be useful
The content on this channel lately has been 10/10. Keep it up
always been like that tbh
PotatoVlog he does his own work. That’s what makes it enjoyable. He’s learning as we are.
probably a good time to set up the hydro while the bed is in the air but your killing it!
Dude you have come a long way! Congrats on everything you have achieved.
4 linkium
Caolan dude stopium
fuck u allium
I’m sure this will get lost in the comments, but hopefully you’ll see this.
Hey man, I just wanted to let you know that you are doing a great job and you are by far my favorite youtuber to watch since the last couple years. I’ve bounced around with Evan, Adam, and TJ, but you are by far my favorite. As a growing youtuber myself, I just wanted to let you know 🙏 btw, the editing was solid. I like both styles.
I just love both gingium's and Just pasha's builds i think that they are just the coolest projects of the corner of the internet
Yakkywentwakko23 thank you so much!
Who all remembers little gingium working out of his garage with the crazy neighbor. Look at him now all grown up. You are doing great keep up the good work
Looking at how many cutting wheels you used it might be a good time to get a plasma cutter.
Also, SHOWER before and after using a public pool.
Welding seaman lol
Mr GMC631 I knew I wasn’t the only one that noticed lol😂😂
He surely meant welding semen XD
Jean-Charles Weyland lol
Lol
Build bigger wheel wells into the bed so its can still be used as a bed and not just be an open pit to the axle
QuentinC but he's still got the fuel filler cut into the bed. I think he should just go toneau cover.
@@peterolson823 he needs to have quick access to everything in the bed. So a bed cover wouldn't be the best idea.
I almost wanna see a camper cover on the bed for the giggles
Tub the bed
QuentinC it’s also not hard to take a bed off of an older truck.
This is sick, the welder is awesome, I'm jealous of it all! Also boo yah Pasha.
When you cut the wheel arch in the bed you could use trail tubs and just replace them out right. Way easier than having to roll sheet metal. And it'll look super clean
That welder is getting some serious air time and you are showing its versatility.
I’m not happy about you cutting up the bed, but I have faith that you won’t ruin it! Glad to see this thing coming together
Great work so far I come from a family of welders and fabricators and I completely understand the satisfaction and rewards of custom fabrication
Awesome work gingium sending love from Australia, love your content
Ausgang ✌
I'm so proud of you man. You're incredibly talented and creative. You have a gift bro. Great video! 👍
Sure come along way from hot glueing wiring together lol looks good. Btw your leaf springs are setup wrong. The shackles need to be at 45 degrees. Could be causing issues. Your 4 link will definitely solve it lol
Yeah, I was wondering if that was causing the wheel hop, When I fuck around in my dads truck, it doesn’t wheel hop.
And yes I fuck around in daddy’s car because it’s rwd and I drive a GTI lolol
Imagine telling GinjaNinja playing Skyrim that he would have a Drifting Mazda B2200, an Offroading Miata and a Turbo Miata.
Thanks man for doing it right.. that's what I like about you.. cutting off the old mounts.. just to keep it clean Is what I mean by doing it right.. just setting yourself up for success in the future.. I hope you paint the frame when your done grinding.. just to protect it a little..
Getting started to do this with my 88 Toyota pickup and this keeps me so hyped 🍻🤘❤️
Great job Caleb! Looking forward to hearing how much better she rides afterwards! Best wishes and Peace Out!
I like the morning upload!!
Its evening here in south africa. ; )
Really enjoy watcing you building cars! The BGM you choose is awesome too!
Love the intros and explanations with the mic and remote camera
why isn't this video 60 fps like usual?
Miguel M Silva just pasha edited this video
Miguel M Silva how can y’all tell the difference? You clearly watch to much RUclips.
@@SMD-si7fm It's easiser to tell when you've played video games at 60 fps consistently and you hop into a 24 fps video such as this one. Many Hollywood movies are actually shot in 24 FPS so it's not horrible just different.
15 FPS is underrated and is 60 is overrated
Am i the only one who remembers when he had hair and played forza?
Nope
Y’all remember Fred the focus
Amazing work Caleb. Can't really believe that you're so young and already have accumulated all this knowledge (and putting it to good use too). Keep it up.
Damn dude, keep up the good work. Been watching since you bought Molly.
Same here brother, I knew this guy was something special, doing and amazing job Gingium... keep it up
For sure one of the smartest auto you tubers
just imagine a gingium and a b is for build colab.......... mind blowing
Eamicorb b is for build kinda hacks stuff though... doesn’t always do things properly
10:52 haha seam in
All-purpose flour I went seeking for this comment the second I heard it😂
I actually laughed at the just pasha part at the beginning. Good meme.
When you cut the bed up you should just put a cloth tonneau cover on it, would look really good and give you that extra little bit of aerodynamics.
The problem with a trailing arm style four link is a panhard bar will bind at a certain point and will start pushing the axle out of thrust angle . I like a unequal length , triangle four link. Two long bars at the bottom of the axle to the frame, then two short bars from the center housing on the axle angled out to the frame . This could be used in conjunction with a watts / belcrank but is not needed . It allows for pinion adjustment and one can change the instant center or even adjust some rear steer into it for drag racing . If you use big enough lower bars and some beefy heim joints you could use the leaf spring mount in the factory location as your main mount and build from there.
I low key kind of miss the fancy intros with the project intros...
Thank you pasha for being a great editor and RUclipsr, lots on your plate huh?
Atomicneko 🤷🏻♂️ thank you!
Just Pasha no problem man
What about making a 3 link suspension? 2 normal ones, on the sides, and third one would be A-shaped wishbone attached to the middle of axle? Would work as a link, and avoid side to side movement(no need for track bar, which makes side to side movement)
Gingium your welding skills are looking good👍
Yes gingium lofi on DECK love the tune selection
I had the same kind of interest as a child as you. Did the same exact things lol I do what I can to my car, I would love to fabricate but I never really had a house and a garage to go ham haha
Fabium definitely getting better with dem welds!
You should find a black Tonneau bed cover that would fit so you can cover the holes in the bed and give a real clean look, but you can still flip it up to refuel if its a sectioned one.
Fuck yeah man! It’s so awesome to see you tackling this and doing a good job so far. Keep grinding man!
"HTP, hey you guys have plasma torches right?" "Yep" "What sort of fabricator/YT/buddy sort of deal can you swing me one for?". Good job, that box tubings a mofo ain't it? :)
Welds look amazing!
Looks good, Caleb. I love everything you've been doing lately. I just think you should unbolt the vise. I like to see your other viewers squirm. Lol
Why is this comment not more popular 😂
When you cut a frame out of the bed weld a box on the back with a lid on top that opens with a piano hinge just to make it easier to access any problems on the go
Looking good! You should probably paint that whole frame just to protect it from rust. Especially since it looks fairly easy to access.
And me too I loved playing with K'nex as a kid. They were oddly not THAT popular compared to Lego but I found them more fun. I'd say my favourite thing I built was a wind powered crane. I'd put the fan in front and it would lift my dad's weights to the top lol and I used hockey skate laces as the cable. When you're like 10 you use what you can find around the house lol. Years back one of my nephews had to do a project for science class so I helped him recreate it. There's some physics to it, like the pitch of the blades to get more speed or torque, and also the gearing ratios etc. Fun stuff.
Yeah! I plan on painting everything after I'm finished.
I used to make little motorized cars out of Knex. It was really fun
"Im going to weld this semen"
-Gingium 2019
Love the new camera setup
Hey Caleb, love to see you getting so far..feels like just yesterday you had painted The FC, amazing progress, and I will continue supporting you all the wayy!
Is this video edited in a lower frame rate? Looks kinda choppy
A Kendo it’s 24fps.
is gings camera set to 24? Could be something going on in converting 30fps to 24 maybe?
Johan Dixelius I rendered it at 24 FPS. I think it looks better🤷🏻♂️
I didn't notice anything :D
Mathias Mang good:)
Lol 6:12 reminded me when he broke 4 angle grinder cutting wheels trying to cut a piece from the truck
fabium is leveling up. lets go baby
Two words....plasma cutter. Its a world of difference as opposed to the sawjaw.
Since you have the bed off you should definitely clean up the frame and weather proof it. Sand it, prime it, paint it.
Do a true dual exhaust with it coming out of bith sides plze, it would looks so good
He had to do custom headers that wrap around the driving shaft so I doubt it but I completly agree it would be badass
you've come a long way in all your skills ging. you really can call yourself fabium now lol
Fabium is leveling up out here
I was obsessed with legos too
Add or build a racing truck bed cover. Cut plenty of the bed floor out to make easy suspension adjustments and add racing fuel cell.
I'm honestly wondering why you didn't get a notch kit for it. Mini truckers have been doing this same stuff for decades.
It's cheap and good content bruh
Ur welds have improved soo much bro keel up the work bro love ur videos
10:50 wait what????
lol
Had to do a double take on that one. I honestly thought he said "I'm gonna go ahead and weld this semen" at first, but he actually said "weld this seam in".. LOL
10:52 giggity
Why I love the engineering and fab work when building Cars sometimes more then driving them
Great work man! Youre welds look great to
My mans needs a plasma cuter😂
Now that you got the power, you should get a good plasma cutter and then eventually a cnc machine for the plasma cutter
Yay a new video from Gingium! I love the projects man keep it up!
Vertical bandsaw would be your friend. Or a plasma cutter. Good video
A rear mount radiator would be sick!
Caleb you should weld things for money on the side, pays pretty well
I hope you reinforce the frame. I am in a Hi performance steering and suspension class in school and Thursday I just adjusted a four link system. One thing I noticed is that it doesn't allow body to roll. Literally just up and down movement. We had a chassis made up on a steel table with a four link setup on a solid axle. I lifted up on one side of the axle while a classmate pushed down on the other side to see what it would do. We almost flipped the table. Good for drag racing but seems like it would make the chassis flex or make a wheel float off the ground while you are experiencing body roll. I believe this will be the same for a ladder bar system. I could be wrong, my teacher only talks about drag racing and circle track which is boring as hell to me.
Wow look at you Fabium! Skills are improving!
Get a metal saw or something to cut metal with istead of the grider
Plasma cutter
I saw the new things you did while editing, it looks amazing. Keep it up ginge
pasha edited it
@@DraGSLight oh, in that case.
Keep it up pash ams ginge
Can’t wait to see this on Build Biology 😎
You could weld in a piece of schedule 40 in between the new pieces and then cut that tube out so the rear end doesn't hit it. You could cut the wheel wells out of the bed and put in bigger ones, maybe out of a full size truck to hide that.
If you ever go dry sump you should use the fuel door as the oil fill on the Drift Truck
for your content you should have at least 1.5 million subs
Cut the entire bed floor out and raise it up to that level. Make it all look stock... Just Shallow.
That will make it useful and bad ass, somewhat sleeper!!!
Looks nice. Good job!
instead of cutting parts of the bed out you should cut the whole inside of it out and raise it then weld it back in so you can still fit everything underneath and have it still look super clean.
Add in a bench seat off the notches in the bed. I mean why not
Do a empty box just keep the sides and maybe cover it up with and add a ducktail would be sick
Weldium on point 🔥🔥
Litium
Ooo, I didn't know these were a boxed frame like a Courier
fabium back at it again!!!
Gingium: "I'm gonna go ahead and weld this seam in."
Me: Ha, he said semen.
You Should fabricate a steel tray for the truck with like some crazy bar work
Get one of the big fans in the truck bed to help over heating
