    The way Jessica simplifies such a frightening and complicated scene at close range is almost beyond belief ! The whole painting has unity and cohesion . Magic! Thanks again .

    I would love to go to France with you next year. I will be going to the Plein Air Convention in May of 24 but maybe I can join you. Will have to see. I have lots of frequent flyer miles on Delta that I could use. The convention will be in the Smoky Mountains and I am excited about that. I live in Little Rock, Ar. and my son will be driving us. He is a watercolorist and is so nice to his mother to take time off from his work.

    if you had stopped at 31.30 before the white hi lights on the water, It looked really realistic and peaceful then. I love seeing how you apply the colors. Well done.

    I love this Jessica! I wonder what kind of “critters” live in that cave? Just a beautiful area. I love the forests and water.

    Lovely demonstration Jessica. You've inspired me to take my oils outdoors at least to make some Grisaille underpaintings for completion in the studio later. I'll be watching lots more of your videos in future😃😃. New Sub too 😍😍

    You do so much undertone work that I wonder where it is going. Then … the scene emerges! I find it difficult to paint wet-on-wet… a few words on that in future videos.

    Hi Jessica, so good to see you again! I missed your demos very much. Let me tell that this creek resonates with me tremendously. When you first showed us the site I thought this is too complicated for me but you made it your own and inspired me to try it. Awesome work ! The one thing I’m hesitant is the rocks that are submerged up front. Which colors did you mix? Thank you! And Btway, I would love to join you in France but can’t make it this summer. I will contact you and give you my information to put me on your list for any future plein air workshops. Luv you!

      Hi Mona, you’re most welcome to join in France! I am planning on going back in 2024, with a June date. I’d be happy to add you to our newsletter so you can stay up to date!
      The colors for the rocks- under the water, the visible ones will have more yellow ochre and burnt sienna, and will have softer edges than the the surfaced rocks. The dry rocks will have white, with the mentioned colors. The white will make them feel dryer.
      This week I will be releasing a new video featuring a River painting with rocks, both under water and out. I hope that helps! 😁

    How long does it normally take you painting on location? It seems like you get a lot of details in (I'm prone to doing that as well, LOL!) and wondered if those details just come quickly through brushwork or if it's very deliberate. Beautiful setting to paint!!

    • @JessicaHenry
      @JessicaHenry  Год назад +1

      Hi Terry, I try to keep the smaller canvases to 1-2 hours. Yeah, the brushwork is a great tool to make detail where there isn’t any! 😅

    Beautiful painting.
    What type of brushes are you using? I saw before you liked robert simmons signet...?
    Do you prefer hog bristle or synthetic?

    • @JessicaHenry
      @JessicaHenry  Год назад

      Thank you! I really use a selection of both synthetic and hogs hair. When I need a lot of paint I’ll reach for the stiffer hogs hair, but for delicate and straight crisp edges I prefer synthetics. As far as brands, whatever is going to work best. Robert Simmons, Grey Matters, Princetons, Signet series, Rosemary, even some regular Michaels craft store brands.
