Crucial tip for the Queen Metroid fight. Once she spits out all of the green orbs into the air and starts to shoot the red laser beam onto either the floor or ceiling, cling to the right wall and Spider Boost into the Queen Metroid's face. Getting to about the middle of the right wall should be fine. You will not be hurt at all by the green orbs or the Queen herself and you will completely cancel out this attack. Once you figure this out, the fight is a complete joke. The only reason I got hit on Hard Mode was because I miss timed my jumps for her "Slam the ground with her chin' attack. For those who don't know, the Spider Boost is a technique where you cling to a wall with the Spider Ball, then place a Power Bomb and don't move. The bomb will launch you until you hit another wall or the red spikes, similar to the Shinespark. If anyone is having trouble with the Queen, this trick could help you out a lot. Also, I HAD NO IDEA YOU COULD DESTROY AN OMEGA METROID'S SHIELD WITH A POWER BOMB!!! Thank you my dude, I always figured that Power Bombs were useless on bosses or mini bosses since that would make the game too easy if you could just screen nuke everything. The real challenge of any run is Ridley. If you don't count the Other M Ridley fight on Hard Mode (all but one of his attacks can kill you in one hit and sometimes he can kill you as soon as the fight starts before you can move), it's easily the hardest Ridley fight in the series... although I haven't gotten to fight him in Fusion Mode yet. Is there any sort of gallery where you can view the endings? I'd like to actually see them on my system and not have to fight Ridley again to see it or to prove to people that I got it. I beat Zero Mission on Hard Mode 15%, and I have the proof. With Miiverse gone, how will people know? Taking a picture of a 3DS screen with your phone sounds like a bad idea.
The Omega trick was something I discovered on accident by just casually "I wonder if this does anything to it?" and it really makes the fights go quicker since you can save the Beam Burst ammo to use on the nucleus. Proteus Ridley is totally one of his toughest fights, in Fusion mode its as hard as Other M's hard mode, especially since its longer and requires quick reaction with no easy 'dodge button' like you had on Other M (spamming the quick dodge) Actually I forgot to mention, if you go on the file selection screen and go to the credits option in the menu, you can skip it with the start button and it will display the endings. You need to re-enter the menu and skip the credits every time to see each ending however which is a bit annoying.
The Accursed Hunter01 I must've gotten used to fighting Ridley in Normal, Hard and my first Fusion mode attempt then. It only took me 4 tries to beat him in Fusion mode without the missles and aeon abilities.

An obscure bit of trivia that I didn't see mentioned in the vid: the game actually saves the endings you've earned on a given file. This feature is sort of hidden away in the credits viewer in the main menu- the game cycles through the ending poses you've encountered when you repeatedly go back to access the credits this way. Great vid as always btw. I can't get enough of these little character illustrations lol.
Literally snuck to the restroom at work to watch the vid. Beaten the game on normal and hard but can't on fusion because I don't have a NEW 3DS. Bummer.

@@michaelluck5577 Or alternatively, get the latest version of AM2R that comes with a FAR superior Fusion Mode, in which you actually encounter enemies and bosses infected by X Parasites. This is what many fans originally thought Fusion Mode was going to include in Samus Returns instead of a mere armor skin... what a letdown.
It's nice that people are still making videos about this game. We need a sequel to Fusion! And it should either be made with sprites or it should have a more traditional and proportional design for Samus's suit, which will be, of course, the Omega Fusion Suit.

I love taking my time in Metroid games, taking in the scenery and observing every nook and cranny of the map is why i love metroid games. I'd really hate to just skip through a chunk of the game to get a good ending.

Actually i think there is a way to one shot Gamma Metroids.. idk if this has happened with anyone else, but a fully charged ice beam shot that manages to go thru a few of their falling electric projectiles has the potential to one shot them. I just hope no one believes I'm making this up. Cuz i'm surprised no one's talking about this anywhere

You have forgotten ONE very useful trick, against the Metroid Queen: when she start making a blasting attack on the ground, after the green bubbles, you can actually Spiderball-PowerBomb blast her, knocing her down and interrupting her attack at the same time.
To be honest with the videos that The Orpheon creates is very professional though the thing that is laking is the viewers. Though hopefully once Metroid Prime 4 releases you guys at The Orpheon will see a rise in a sub count. P.s. The Orpheon btw I recommend the ds custom robo even though it looks a bit more childish it has faster gameplay and it has balanced the weapons better. so if you havent played it already you really should
I played Custom Robo Arena when it came out, fond memories of playing it against friends in school while the teacher wasnt in the room. Gamecube one will probably remain my favorite for the OST and plot, hoping for a sequel

Always enjoy your videos! And I'm happy to say that I finally have Metroid zero mission and fusion now! If I remember correctly, you really love fusion, right? Any compare / contrast for what you love / disliked about fusion vs zero mission? I'm a little confused about the lack of bomb jumps in fusion. Did they remove the bomb jump in this game? It seems like the bombs explode in different intervals, making it nearly impossible to time them enough to jump upwards. I'm kind of surprised that they would take out this aspect, because I had assumed that this ability was an iconic Metroid ability, after using it in Samus Returns. But Zero mission seems to have the bomb jump, as I can tell from my current location in that game. I really enjoy the open freedom of exploration in zero mission so far, while the contained aspect of fusion is slightly more annoying. I'm surprised to see this much 'word dialogue' in fusion, to be honest. I had thought that Samus didn't speak as often, so it was a surprise to hear her thoughts, as well as that of some guidance computer giving her mission objectives. For game play, I think that both are very good, albeit I prefer Samus Returns a little more, since I started with that type of game play first. But I'm loving the experience of fusion and zero mission so far! :D
That's a pretty good suggestion I might do it sometime soon, seems like a fun topic. Bomb jump is in Samus Returns (they show it off in the reveal trailer and during the treehouse event) but only is really useful in one or two instances for early access and some item puzzles. I don't want to say much because I rather make a video about it, but Fusion's narrative is part of why I like it, finally we learn more about Samus and adds great depth to her character and the story lends itself for more 'significance' behind your actions (restoring power to the station, Sector 3's meltdown, SA-X encounters, Saving the animals, etc) made the mission for once feel important and memorable and kinda impacted the writing of future games (even Prime series to some degree) I like both for their own reasons, but I think I'll always lean a bit towards Fusion (some nostalgia is also involved in that) but Samus Returns is up there amongst my faves
The Orpheon Sorry I think my comment got a little confusing. I played Samus Returns back in November, and I just started fusion and zero mission (playing both but depending on my mood). Fusion doesn't seem to allow the bomb jump ability, but zero mission (and Samus Returns) both have that ability. Why did they remove the bomb jump in fusion? I liked using it to jump in places in Samus Returns, even tho it was my first Metroid game I didn't realize that the computer (and it's objectives) were so important in fusion. I don't like the restriction, to be honest. But I definitely appreciate the tone of the game (the horror of feeling chased by a powerful parasite). It's definitely a different feeling than what I got from Samus Returns (more of the isolation on the hostile enemy planet feeling).
I think part of the reason Bomb Jump and Single-Wall-Jumping were removed in Fusion was because of how the physics 'broke' Super Metroid, regardless if you could use either ability in the game it wouldn't affect much of anything in terms of sequence breaking or early item collecting in the game, so perhaps it was removed also so that player's didn't waste time bomb-jumping in a game where the map wasn't designed with it in mind. (call it a hunch) Its the horror and setting with the added narrative and the purpose behind every 'mission' (stopping Sector 3 from exploding, avoiding the Ice-X-Parasites, re-powering the BSL, etc) made me had a feeling of urgency to my mission. I loved the tonal shift that added more urgency to my actions, plus since I usually like doing 100% speed runs, the one in Fusion is far less annoying than Zero Mission's item puzzles (I don't like the overuse of shinespark puzzles)
The Orpheon Yeah I'm right before the mother brain fight in zero mission now, and I feel like I've missed half of the items because I'm a player who didn't practice the speed boost ability for decades like the established players. For a game that's touted as new player friendly, zero mission relies very heavily on speed booster to get hidden items, in my opinion. Once you beat mother brain, do you lose the option to search for items on Zebes? Because I'm stuck on a few that I cannot fathom how to obtain, and I'd like to grab a few more before the mother brain battle I'm up to a box shaped boss in fusion right now, and I feel like I've gotten more of the items so far in comparison. Quick question tho: do we ever return to the opening area section where we fought Arachnus? Cuz I feel like I missed some early items and now I'd like to go back to find them.

Actually, the Beam Burst is quite effective against Gamma Metroids. If used correctly, you can kill them before they have the chance to even leave the first room you encounter them in! Because it's been a year, you may have figured this out already, but I wanted to toss in my two cents anyway.
I've read in the metroid manga episode of aether a pirate talking about Samus as the one who destroyed zebes, does that mean that prime 2 is cronologically after super metroid?

Depends. If you technically want more ‘bang-for-your-buck’ get Prime Trilogy, since its 3 games in one and Prime 4 is next up. If you want a more recent 2D styles game, then Samus Returns. (Also FYI, Prime Trilogy can only be played with the wii mote + nunchuck)
There was one guy who absolutely amazing at super metroid though he was a speed runner probably looked like samus herself it was done so easily also justin bailey is a 25 year old hockey player for the Vancouver Canucks
It might not come out for a few months or years. I know because they don't want to make an easy Metroid game they want to make it hard to play and they need to add extensions to rooms for items .They also need to decide the story, the weapons, and the suit designs then once they finish coding and fixing bugs and glitches they need to decide price, box art, and mass produce and ship to stores. Then it will take two days to one or two weeks for stores to receive and stock the games
Currently playing on Hard mode and gotta say the only difference is enemies do 15% more damage than the normal mode playthrough and bosses constantly change attack patterns more then they did in normal mode. Not much of a challenge if you ask me. Also I don't have an amiibo reader or amiibos for my 3ds so I guess fusion mode is out of the question 😪
Well its been the same case with almost any other Metroid game's 'harder difficulty' The Prime Trilogy's 'Hyper Mode' difficulty are just enemies with high-HP while the GBA games limited the amount of health/missiles you gained from power-ups by half (so 1 energy tank = 49 HP instead of 99 - 1 missile tank = 3 missiles instead of 5)
ok just had a mind blowing moment what if the chozo where predicting samus to to be fused with not just the chozo DNA but the metroid and the aeion x (will explain) too think about this the sa-x bacame a part of samus at the end of fusion so the sa-x is apart of her and before you close this comment look the metroids and even the chozo could not handle the x once the aeion came therefore samus could not have handled the sa-x if it had aeion fused with it or powering it since she is only part metroid meaning that if a full metroid couldn't take it on she probably won't be able to fully I say fully because she has controlled aeion as seen in metroid samus returns so I could be wrong but it is just a theory
I really hate what Nintendo did to Samus. I had the Super Metroid guide and specifically remember it showing her as being 6'3" and almost 200 pounds *without the suit,* meaning she's huge and powerful and muscly. Why did they turn her into some 5-foot-nothing anorexic piece of cheesecake?
I am not a fan of the 2.5D. I am especislly not a fan of the suit being redesigned(to which the varia suit design we know and love originated in return of samus) and though the new game mechanics may be fun, i am a purist when it comes to metroid. AM2R got 90% of it right with the exception of the 2.5d gerbil metroids
I wish they had kept Samus having green hair. Blonde can be nice... but Nintendo seems to think every female they make needs blonde hair. What's wrong with variety?
I always go for the way they pronounce things within the games. So far the only moment where the planet's name is mentioned (by voice) within the games is during the final escape sequence in Fusion. The computer's announcement says: "Propulsion sequence activated. Destination: Planet SR three eighty-eight"

I played Custom Robo Arena when it came out, fond memories of playing it against friends in school while the teacher wasnt in the room. Gamecube one will probably remain my favorite for the OST and plot, hoping for a sequel

Always enjoy your videos! And I'm happy to say that I finally have Metroid zero mission and fusion now! If I remember correctly, you really love fusion, right? Any compare / contrast for what you love / disliked about fusion vs zero mission?
I'm a little confused about the lack of bomb jumps in fusion. Did they remove the bomb jump in this game? It seems like the bombs explode in different intervals, making it nearly impossible to time them enough to jump upwards. I'm kind of surprised that they would take out this aspect, because I had assumed that this ability was an iconic Metroid ability, after using it in Samus Returns. But Zero mission seems to have the bomb jump, as I can tell from my current location in that game.
I really enjoy the open freedom of exploration in zero mission so far, while the contained aspect of fusion is slightly more annoying. I'm surprised to see this much 'word dialogue' in fusion, to be honest. I had thought that Samus didn't speak as often, so it was a surprise to hear her thoughts, as well as that of some guidance computer giving her mission objectives.
For game play, I think that both are very good, albeit I prefer Samus Returns a little more, since I started with that type of game play first. But I'm loving the experience of fusion and zero mission so far! :D
That's a pretty good suggestion I might do it sometime soon, seems like a fun topic.
Bomb jump is in Samus Returns (they show it off in the reveal trailer and during the treehouse event) but only is really useful in one or two instances for early access and some item puzzles.
I don't want to say much because I rather make a video about it, but Fusion's narrative is part of why I like it, finally we learn more about Samus and adds great depth to her character and the story lends itself for more 'significance' behind your actions (restoring power to the station, Sector 3's meltdown, SA-X encounters, Saving the animals, etc) made the mission for once feel important and memorable and kinda impacted the writing of future games (even Prime series to some degree)
I like both for their own reasons, but I think I'll always lean a bit towards Fusion (some nostalgia is also involved in that) but Samus Returns is up there amongst my faves

Sorry I think my comment got a little confusing. I played Samus Returns back in November, and I just started fusion and zero mission (playing both but depending on my mood). Fusion doesn't seem to allow the bomb jump ability, but zero mission (and Samus Returns) both have that ability. Why did they remove the bomb jump in fusion? I liked using it to jump in places in Samus Returns, even tho it was my first Metroid game
I didn't realize that the computer (and it's objectives) were so important in fusion. I don't like the restriction, to be honest. But I definitely appreciate the tone of the game (the horror of feeling chased by a powerful parasite). It's definitely a different feeling than what I got from Samus Returns (more of the isolation on the hostile enemy planet feeling).
I think part of the reason Bomb Jump and Single-Wall-Jumping were removed in Fusion was because of how the physics 'broke' Super Metroid, regardless if you could use either ability in the game it wouldn't affect much of anything in terms of sequence breaking or early item collecting in the game, so perhaps it was removed also so that player's didn't waste time bomb-jumping in a game where the map wasn't designed with it in mind. (call it a hunch)
Its the horror and setting with the added narrative and the purpose behind every 'mission' (stopping Sector 3 from exploding, avoiding the Ice-X-Parasites, re-powering the BSL, etc) made me had a feeling of urgency to my mission. I loved the tonal shift that added more urgency to my actions, plus since I usually like doing 100% speed runs, the one in Fusion is far less annoying than Zero Mission's item puzzles (I don't like the overuse of shinespark puzzles)

Yeah I'm right before the mother brain fight in zero mission now, and I feel like I've missed half of the items because I'm a player who didn't practice the speed boost ability for decades like the established players. For a game that's touted as new player friendly, zero mission relies very heavily on speed booster to get hidden items, in my opinion.
Once you beat mother brain, do you lose the option to search for items on Zebes? Because I'm stuck on a few that I cannot fathom how to obtain, and I'd like to grab a few more before the mother brain battle
I'm up to a box shaped boss in fusion right now, and I feel like I've gotten more of the items so far in comparison. Quick question tho: do we ever return to the opening area section where we fought Arachnus? Cuz I feel like I missed some early items and now I'd like to go back to find them.
You can still return to older regions of Zebes through some secret passages in Chozodia, I suggest checking a map

Actually, the Beam Burst is quite effective against Gamma Metroids. If used correctly, you can kill them before they have the chance to even leave the first room you encounter them in!

Depends. If you technically want more ‘bang-for-your-buck’ get Prime Trilogy, since its 3 games in one and Prime 4 is next up. If you want a more recent 2D styles game, then Samus Returns. (Also FYI, Prime Trilogy can only be played with the wii mote + nunchuck)

It might not come out for a few months or years. I know because they don't want to make an easy Metroid game they want to make it hard to play and they need to add extensions to rooms for items .They also need to decide the story, the weapons, and the suit designs then once they finish coding and fixing bugs and glitches they need to decide price, box art, and mass produce and ship to stores. Then it will take two days to one or two weeks for stores to receive and stock the games

Currently playing on Hard mode and gotta say the only difference is enemies do 15% more damage than the normal mode playthrough and bosses constantly change attack patterns more then they did in normal mode. Not much of a challenge if you ask me. Also I don't have an amiibo reader or amiibos for my 3ds so I guess fusion mode is out of the question 😪
Well its been the same case with almost any other Metroid game's 'harder difficulty'
The Prime Trilogy's 'Hyper Mode' difficulty are just enemies with high-HP while the GBA games limited the amount of health/missiles you gained from power-ups by half (so 1 energy tank = 49 HP instead of 99 - 1 missile tank = 3 missiles instead of 5)
ok just had a mind blowing moment what if the chozo where predicting samus to to be fused with not just the chozo DNA but the metroid and the aeion x (will explain) too think about this the sa-x bacame a part of samus at the end of fusion so the sa-x is apart of her and before you close this comment look the metroids and even the chozo could not handle the x once the aeion came therefore samus could not have handled the sa-x if it had aeion fused with it or powering it since she is only part metroid meaning that if a full metroid couldn't take it on she probably won't be able to fully I say fully because she has controlled aeion as seen in metroid samus returns so I could be wrong but it is just a theory

I really hate what Nintendo did to Samus. I had the Super Metroid guide and specifically remember it showing her as being 6'3" and almost 200 pounds *without the suit,* meaning she's huge and powerful and muscly. Why did they turn her into some 5-foot-nothing anorexic piece of cheesecake?
I am not a fan of the 2.5D. I am especislly not a fan of the suit being redesigned(to which the varia suit design we know and love originated in return of samus) and though the new game mechanics may be fun, i am a purist when it comes to metroid. AM2R got 90% of it right with the exception of the 2.5d gerbil metroids

I always go for the way they pronounce things within the games.
So far the only moment where the planet's name is mentioned (by voice) within the games is during the final escape sequence in Fusion.
