Recommend a new bar and chain if you're going to do any serious work; bars and chains are consumable items - it should have ripped through that stuff like butter. Good job on everything else. :)
@@sorbiusfaust9022 he used a wood rasp to try and file the teeth lol the chain is dull as fuck. i'm honestly surprised he did that. i guess he's not that smart.
You replaced the cover because it was missing items, the bar and chain should have been in that order also. Nice work to try and save them but, cut your losses.👍👍🇨🇱🇺🇸
Very nice refurbishing efforts and it looks really good. But you need to learn how to sharpen a chain saw chain and buy a new one as well. You need a round chain saw file and not a rat tail file... Thumbs Up!
You need a new bar and chain! Otherwise good job restoring the chainsaw. Also when you file a chain, file each tooth the same angle and number of strokes. The chain never cut straight if each tooth has a different angle.
Gracias
Seems to be a serious design flaw that allows that much dust intrusion. It should be sealed with a cleanable filter. All that work and it will just clog up and rust again with damp saw dust.
I was worried about that chain snapping. I feel it is a hazard to life. Otherwise a great restoration. Maybe dangerous to use though at it's current state.
I'm surprised that rusted solid chain was reusable. Why bother with trying to de-rust it, when all you need to do is look up what size chain it uses, and buy a new one down at the hardware shop?
Really great restoration, but I do have a couple of issues with it. First that aggressive high speed rotary sanding utterly destroys the balance of the armature. That means this saw is going to either eat bearings or the motor itself is going to have a short life. You never want to aggressively sand something like this where balance is machined into it. Though being fair I'm fairly sure that old plastic main gear is going to self destruct first. Second - That chain is compromised and dangerous. Sure it is cool and all you managed to restore it, but that is a massive safety hazard. I operate a lot of chainsaws and the last thing you want happening is a chain snapping and flying off at high speed. Never ever use a chain that is this badly damaged. There are times were buying new isn't wasteful but is simply the smartest and safest thing to do. You should have done the same thing with the chain you did with the broken cover, thrown it straight into the trash.
I don't know why, probably because I'm currently tired and not paying attention, but I thought this electric chainsaw was going to use a battery pack, like a drill, instead of a power cord
I won't recommend electric chainsaw...I had one... piece of junk... plastic gear... won't last long... Makita same plastic gear... not a good quality...

Agreed he should have also used a less course file with a even thicknes as to not have the file catch and stop
Re-visit: This is a battery-powered version, but this is what this chainsaw should be capable of: ruclips.net/video/jPWRDenj45Y/видео.html
yeah was gonna say the same. i would not trust that chain or bar with my life

Good try on saving the chain, but it was gone before you got there.
Thanks.

You need to change the chain now, otherwise the electicity consumption will be higher than a new saw.

Beautiful restoration. Superbly done. I was thinking that chain was a lost cause from the very beginning.
Good restoration but you never reuse a chain in that condition

Fabulous work! Each project is both interesting and educational. I learn a lot about items and their workings just watching you.

spilling oil all over on freshly cleaned parts was heartbreaking
Nice job 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I think Kris Harbour uses one just like this to build his house and workshop. Looks to be a great little tool
Great job.

you did an excellent job, but when I saw you sharpen the chain and as if I had stabbed me
Sir.. do not trust that bar and chain.. recommend you replace it.
Nice job. But agree with one person, you should invest in a bar and chain.
Chique show 👍👍!!!!!
Great job restoring it! It looks great!!

Did you use the cheapest paint out there or why did the paint of the sword already start to wear off?

Xin chào, bạn ở tỉnh nào vậy ?
It's silly of you not to replace the saw blade with a new one.
it could break off in the future and injure someone.
👍
You lubricated the chain and put it on an electric saw, it would soften itself
👏👏👍
blunt chain and never repair the saw chain you never know if it is not cracked somewhere especially when it was very rusty. otherwise good job...
You need to buy a new chain

and remember when the chain is so dull it smokes when u use it throw it away also use a proper file

good work but you cant sharpen a chain for shit
buy a new chain
