Wow, this band is pretty dope. Cross flute must be the most underrated instrument in rock music.
God knew what he was doing when he invented the guitar. The gift was complete the day some kid named Tim picked it up!
What a spectacular show and what a great band!
It doesn't do them justice to reduce them on being Tull - influenced, just because Francis plays the flute. Yes, for sure she listened to Tull a lot, I can hear the influence in her play. But then there is so much more: a little Sabbath, King Diamond, Metallica, but most importantly: a lot of WUCAN!
Have to buy their records after seeing this!!!!

With all due respect to the group members , I felt like I was listening to the good old days of Jethro Tull. The flute is part of the Rock'N'Roll. Keep on.

There's quite a skill in playing the flute that way and making it sound so I'm tune with the guitar and dtums

Man, I love flute-rock. I've been listening to Jethro Tull and the like for years. Wucan is a great addition to the flute-rock pantheon.
The only flute-rock band I listen to is Blood Ceremony. I’d love to find more, though. Would you mind sharing with me some other bands in the pantheon?
She's as good with that flute as Ian Anderson. And a great singer.

Jethro Tull already had Ian Anderson and a great drummer in Barriemore Barlow back then. They should've kept the services of Tommy Iommi and hire a bass player with big balls, and they would've sounded like this, back in the 70s... Great stuff!!!

@@Psychocoko I’m just trying to counter the “rock band with flute = Jethro Tull” narrative. But, yeah, Blood Ceremony are one of my very favorite bands. And Wucan ended up being my fifth most-listened-to band of the year, by the way, according to Apple Music, with _Heretic Tongues_ apparently being my third most-listened-to album of the year. I’ve always wanted to see my listening stats like that in previous years, but this is the first time the music-streaming service I use has shown them.

Rockpalast ist der Überbegriff, kannte man in den 70ern nur die Gruga-Halle, der WDR hat dann später alle möglichen Konzerte unter dem Titel Rockpalast gefilmt und teilweise auch im Fernsehen gezeigt. das eclipsed Rock Magazin für Prog/Art/Psychedelic/Classic/Hard Rock hat diverse DVDs veröffentlicht, auf einer davon sind Peter Gabriel, Steve Hillage, Who von 1977/78/81, aber auch Crippled Black Phoenix und Opeth von 2012/16

Es gab mal circa 1985 eine Punkband mit querflöte,die nannten sich fortschreitende Angstzustände.klang interessanter als das hier:Kaffeesatz nochmal aufgießen schmeckt eben nicht mehr so dolle😂😮.Aber lasst euch den Spaß daran nicht nehmen.

Superwoman und leider zwei von der "aussenwelt" abgegrenzte Schlaftabletten ,besonders der gittarist.-Schade
ist mir schon bei mehreren Rockpalast-Konzerten aufgefallen, dass der "Druck" fehlt
Genauso einheitlicher 08/15 Rock mit altbackenen Riffs und nem Hauch von Stoner/Blues/Psychedelic wie von ihrer anderen Band bekannt, die man sich aber wenigstens optisch doch mal für 10 Minuten reinziehen kann. Aber das hier... die Texte auch... tztz... Also das hat man schon zig fach besser gehört (Blues Pills, um nur mal ein Beispiel zu nennen) und gesehen. Da bringt auch der Einsatz einer Flöte nichts. Sehr, sehr (unter)durchschnittlich. Aber wenn ne Frau singt und die nicht gerade hässlich ist, wie die Nacht, dann wird da scheints gerne mal darüber hinweggesehen. Oder nennt mir mal eine Stelle während des gesammten Konzerts, wo es euch mal so richtig die Haare aufstellt.
Naja hab sie schon live gesehen und kann dir nicht zustimmen...außerdem Subjektivität und so...naja mal so richtig aus kotzen soll ja auch ganz gut tun.

wie das beim Geschmack so ist, ich fand Blues Pills am Anfang auch gut, aber für meinen Geschmack hat sie beim Gesang zu sehr "überzogen" - subjektiv, weil ich nur ein paar Stücke kenne. Vielleicht gibt es auch welche, wo sie ein bisschen "schöner" singt, nur dreckig ist auch langweilig.
Und Wucan ist in meinen Augen nicht 08/15 weil sie immerhin 'ne Flöte und ein Theremin im Einsatz haben, ist das nicht anerkennenswert ? 🙂
@@rudolfbecker4313 ist es. Danke dafür. Wir machen einfach gern Musik. Und manchen gefällt es, manchen nicht. Auch wenn unser riffing 2016 sicherlich nicht besonders ausgefeilt und meine Stimme auch wirklich nicht immer treffsicher war wie heute, merkt man hoffentlich trotzdem, dass wir immer mit Leidenschaft dabei sind. Und man entwickelt sich ja als Künstler.
Schade finde ich nur den Vergleich mit anderen Bands mit Frontfrauen. Was hat das Geschlecht der Musiker und Musikerinnen mit der Qualität der Musik zu tun?
Aber auch da: Schwamm drüber- Geschmäcker sind verschieden. Jeder jeck is anders.
