Wucan bringen Retro-Sound mit modernem Heavy Rock zusammen - trotz der nicht zu überhörenden Einflüsse von Bands wie Renft, Lucifer's Friend, Birth Control und Krautrock im Allgemeinen, ist die Band dennoch auf einen eigenen Stil fokussiert.
Wucan gründeten sich 2012 in Dresden. Sängerin Francis Tobolsky schaltete dafür eine Anzeige in einem Studentenmagazin, mit dem Betreff "Blues Brothers Wanted". Kurz darauf war die Band komplett und haute auch schon im Folgejahr die ersten Demos via RUclips raus. 2013 folgten erste Auftritte und 2014 die Debüt-EP "Vikarma". Seit 2015 bringt die Band regelmäßig Studioalben heraus und ist gern gesehener Gast in Clubs und auf Festivals.
Der Wucan-Stil lässt Platz für Jam-Rock-Passagen, Querflöten-Parts und Metal-Gitarren-Riffs. Vor allem die charakteristische Stimme von der geradezu vor Energie berstenden Sängerin Francis, die auch vor Emotionalität und Melancholie nicht zurückschreckt, sticht heraus. Wucan beherrschen die komplette Palette von 70's Folk-Rock bis hin zu Hard Rock im Hier und Jetzt - eine Zeitreise mit Rückfahrschein.

Love that they can mix up a bit of folk, mysticism and disco in with the hard rock. Had a brilliant night watching them at the Black Heart in London last year - got too drunk but from what I remember they were superb! Look forward to them coming back.
