That's awesome man! I didn't even know about the type 2 until I found one on marketplace. Now I can see where the styling of the recon came from.
Hondas are really bulletproof! Thanks for uploading the video! Cheers from Argentina!
I got the same quad but 1991 model AN it sat in the shed for 8 years I got it cleaned the carb got and airfilter and fixed the gas tank and it ran like new.
clean machine my friend! I bought one for my father to use for yard work and he loves it, uses
it every day
im the second owner of an identical 96 model. I love it. you can get a whole new seat in gray from hondapartsonline. also if you have not replaced the chn yet, replace the sprockets when you do. thanks for the vid!
Awesome thanks for the tip! And yeah I recently replaced the chain and sprockets.
Is your seat the same as original with the warning sticker on the back of it
Great job! I have 2 that still kick it. 1993 & 1991
I’m getting one of these tomorrow it will be my first four wheeler can’t wait soo excited 😃
Your first four wheeler is a gateway drug. Some time last year I got a Honda fourtrax 300 and I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I now have 2 1988 Yamaha moto 4 225s, a Kawasaki bayou 220, a Honda 300 EX and I also bought a Kawasaki mule 550 that we use as a rescue rig when we get stuck out somewhere.
What did you pay for it?
I have a 91 and it goes pretty good on the trails going fab up some skid plates for it
Nice little bike. I just got bought one of these, except its a 94 model, Gonna fix it up for my wife. I am amazed at how well the plastic is on mine just a couple small cracks, someone did a camo paint job on it. Gotta do something about that. But I think it will make a her a nice ride.
itsmewoodG yeah i dont have mine anymore-sold it to someone who had more time to ride it
Its definitely a great starter bike !
Nice dude, I have one and it’s a tank too
Hard to beat a Honda
My Dad still has the green one he bought new in ‘95. All it needs right now is to be washed, a new battery and oil change. It’s been a great ATV other than being rather small and slow.
See how in the hell does that work? I had a 94 model and it only had four gears. When I originally bought it the person gave me another set of transmission gears but supposedly it was a 5 speed transmission set. I don't have it no more but I have found another one that is a little bit cleaner than the one I had before for $300 online and thinking about getting another one because the one I had was amazing through the mud LOL with big tires. And I just heard you shift and that was 5 gears there. Because I'm trying to figure out when they change the transmission from 4 speed to 5 speed.
The honda recon are great to i have a 2001 model never have had any problems with it
I have a 95 model (not stock) and have broken the hearts of many 350 and 400’s. If you don’t do water use a Mikuni Carb cold air 👍
More details pleaae? Just picked up a 95 type 2
What year did they have it in blue for this model ? I know it’s rare but I saw it before.
Where did you get the tires for it?? Was driving home yesterday and seen it for free grabbed it cleaned the carb and a new spark it fired right up but all 4 tires are fucked
I have this quad my original seat was black it has all bald tires nothing. On it has been replaced and mine has ran without gas and runs great and stars in coldest winter i have ever has
I just got a 1996 model and still has all stock and tires and fixing it up
And these things are great in deep water the float so good
How much does it cost to buy one of these?
i have a 1991 honda fourtrax type || it only has 4 gears but still goes everywheres where the big bikes go just not as fast lol awesome video i for one love the looks and riding the bike great video but you should post one of you riding through trails and top speed
Awesome man! Yeah they're great tough quads..and go anywhere with that locked rear axle! But agreed pretty slow for a 200. When fall comes in more, I'm going to ride some more and do more trail vids, too much vegetation blocking the trails now. I'm hoping to do a top speed video soon.
thats the only thing that bothers me why is the 200cc engine so slow is them it makes no sense but they are still lots of fun
Yeah I feel ya on that one. I think it was designed for farmlands, so it has a lot of slow power, but low top speed. But still fun though
Where'd you buy all your parts from? I have one in Olive green I'd love to start fixing up!
Theres a lot of OEM websites, the main one I use is rockymountainatv.com; just enter your make and model and it gives you all the original parts and schematics. You can also scout on craigslist, you might find some parts for cheap. Hope it goes well, feel free to ask more questions!
I got a olive green one to
My son has a 1994 same color as yours it is way faster than 27 it has 25 in itp mud lites in front and 25 in vampires on the back he goes everywhere with his I put a bigger sprocket on the back and it turns them good I also put a 2 in home made lift on it very good bike
Nice! Yeah I need to look into some aftermarket sprockets and such to get some more speed out of it, it definitely has the power for it
I just bought one for my daughter. What size rear tires are on yours?
Thanks
These are 4 speeds with reverse, not 5 speed. Are the new rear tires you put on smaller than the originals? 27mph is really slow, mine tops out at 44-45. Mine was beat to hell, I had to rewire it, replace both drive sprockets, the chain, rebuild the rear end with new bearings, rebuild the brakes, had to make a new air box, and more I'm probably forgetting about. Yours is in great shape. I still need to hunt down a reasonably priced seat.
What year is yours? Years after 91 were five speed, before that they were 4 speed. Yeah it is pretty slow... I don't really have an accurate way of measuring it, so I could be off. I was fortunate to find one that had previously been owned by a farmer (or so I was told), so it was pretty well taken care of. And yes! My new tires are not original size, apparently they no longer make the original tire size... the original was 22x9-8, but I replaced it with 22x11-8 which fit on the original rims.
Can. You adjust the revise cable
What are the back tires size I’m really needing back tires but I can’t find the size
I dont remember but if you go to rocky mountain atv or a similar website you can put in your quad and it should tell you all of the stock sizes
Wasabiloose Productions ok thank you
Wasabiloose Productions I haven’t put gas in mine for a couple weeks even after hours of driving haven’t got to drive it because the bushing broke
Wasabiloose Productions was the tire size 22x11-9 the original stock are 22x9-8
Hi. Quick question. Would some 21/10-8 rear wheels fit on this quad. Thanks.
Not sure... I would check rockymountainatv they usually have a lot of information.. you can also find manuals for this quad online. Hope this helps
Ok thanks. Do tou know where the frame numbers are
@@sam-lz2kq There should be a sticker somewhere on the front fork
What tires are those?
I got some from eBay and Rocky Mountain but most came from eBay I also made the lift kit for mine and I had a 200s 3 wheeler with a big sprocket I took it off and put it on the type 2 I had to mess with it a little but it fit
Good to know. I use rocky mountain all the time so I'll check it out then
do you think its a good quad to go mudding with?
With good tires it should be fine... just remember its 2wd
Want to sell it?
Already did unfortunately, and regret it..
I have the exact same one but my chain just broke do you have any recommendations for chains?
Usually eBay is your best bet, I dont really have a preference in brands as long as it is the right size for the quad-you can check the chain specs on rockymountain atv
I would also recommend replacing your sprockets if you're not sure of their condition, just to give everything a fresh start.
Wasabiloose Productions yeah some teeth on the sprocket broke too, thanks for taking time out of your day to reply.
Just putting the bigger tires gave it a little more speed I put bigger sprocket on it to turn the bigger tires
I have the same forwheeler and I have not started it I’m like 5 years
Motor 200cm
Repuestos. Camisa pistón y anillos
I have bought the same quad as that and restoring it any chance u could let me know where u got your parts
Rocky mountain atv, type in the vehicle and it has a full parts schematics
@@wasabiloose did u get new stickers made
@@johnclingen7923 nope, all original
@@wasabiloose what did u buy for it
Hi, isn't this just too lazy for fun racing ?
I have a 95 with 27s and it hauls
I have a 1991, with the turtle shell on the back
Nice-those are pretty rare from what I understand.
Just sold mine recently though to someone who can use it more :)
👌👌👌
I have a 95 model one of these and it goes 45+
Really? I don't know where people are getting these numbers I cant seem to get even close to that
Is it just me or is that acceleration fast
Please contact me how do I tighten my chain on mine please
HI, there are two locking bolts in the back you can adjust which moves the axle back in forth-if youve adjusted chain before on other bikes youll see what Im talking about, if not I recommend finding a video or looking on a parts schematic website and you will see what I mean
@@wasabiloose after I loosen the four bolts I know I have to tighten a chain tensioner I have seen one video but mine doesn’t have one :(
@@Onemorerep03 I would check out rockymountain atv they have a parts schematic and parts for everything its what I used when working on my bikes
@@wasabiloose my number is 9012580242 if u can find what I need and screenshot it and send it to me thanks
There starting to discontinue parts for this damn thing sucks
