Absolutely brilliant mate, the slight pressing of the volume up button SLOWLY is a really good tip. Also hold the tv on button for 5 seconds and viola it works. Thanks

well in man, I spent about half an hour pulling my hair out, it worked first time with your help, on the set up screen it failed to mention to press the ok button before holding down the standby button for 5 seconds. At least it's working now.
Thank you so much, was on the verge of having a breakdown!!! The virgin how to is missing a step - the ok before you turn the tv back on - thanks again, and my husband is thanking you too as he nearly had a stress wife on his hands for the evening haha
JessiiBubbs yes I too noticed that virgin have missed the step to press ok after the tv turns off. However! The bloody tv doesn’t turn back on again!!! Arrgh!!
Hi Mate. Just got new LG 4K tv and worked perfectly - had to press the up button about 25 times, but worked. Didn't realise that if you press tv and hold on power it switches off the tv, brilliant. Thanks.
Nothing else worked, but this did. Thanks! Just in case someone treis this and thinks it's not working, I had to push the channel up button about 100 times to get my Sony TV to work.

Fantastic pal, I tried this with my new V6 box (the shorter remote control) and the tip about pausing between each channel up press actually worked. I had tried holding down the channel up button before and this used to work with my old Tivo box (the longer remote) but not my new V6 shorter remote. The Pausing between each channel up press made the difference. After the tv switches off you need to press ok to register everything. Good job.
Mate, I've never had the ability to make my remote work with my telly. Called Virgin loads of times to whine about the fact I can't use the remote volume control and they never helped me sort it. I googled how to fix this and got your vid - now all 3 TVs are fucking working properly! Sorry for the long comment but I am BUZZING! Now I don't have to get up off my arse to turn it up or down, so you may have helped said arse to become a fat one. But who cares! It works! GET IN! Cracking step by step, simple instructions! You are a legend, thanks for this info. I have had a v6 box and remote for a few years anf contreolled my TV and AV amp with it without issue, until today when it stopped working. You quick and simple fix sorted it, cheers. Saying that. I've just gone to change channel and the channel menue will not show.

I've just spent about 20 minutes trying to do this, the tv was turning off when you press channel up but I've sorted it now, can always rely on RUclips 👌🏻

Took about 50 attempts but finally worked. It worked when I went channel down not up. Maybe I'd gone to the end of the list. If it's not on a loop.
