I’ve tried it with the online guide and the home button doesn’t illuminate in green, only red. I tried your method and it doesn’t illuminate in Green either, is there any way to reset the remote control on the TiVo ?

You are a legend, thanks for this info. I have had a v6 box and remote for a few years anf contreolled my TV and AV amp with it without issue, until today when it stopped working. You quick and simple fix sorted it, cheers. Saying that. I've just gone to change channel and the channel menue will not show.

Please do not use bright backlighting with an autoexposure camera. The camera will expose for the brightness leaving the black remote in the midnight mode. There are plenty of RUclips videos explaining this. Also, what's an "ought"? I speak Texan.

I can tell by all the other comments that this must work and it did on my previous remote but I've just had to buy a new one and the only step that doesn't work is no matter how I press the channel up button it never turns off. It wouldn't be so bad if my TV remote wasn't so feeble. It's not batteries but it takes me an age to get any response. Anyone have any tip, please. Desperate from London ❤

Ez Bazz so Virgin Media just left me a new box and remote at the door and drove off iv connected the box and sitting on a screen that says hold info button for 10 seconds supposedly to pair remote and guess what nothing

Mate, I've never had the ability to make my remote work with my telly. Called Virgin loads of times to whine about the fact I can't use the remote volume control and they never helped me sort it. I googled how to fix this and got your vid - now all 3 TVs are fucking working properly! Sorry for the long comment but I am BUZZING! Now I don't have to get up off my arse to turn it up or down, so you may have helped said arse to become a fat one. But who cares! It works! GET IN! Cracking step by step, simple instructions!
