Do you have to do a global reset if you haven't moved it since you bought this Tivoli 4k stream.because I followed your steps and still can't get itge tv and the Tivoli remote to pair am I doing something rwron?
Are you using an AV receiver? If so, check the settings on the receiver for CEC pass-through. If so, and your AV receiver doesn't have CEC settings it may have to connect directly to your tv. If not try ising a different HDMI port on your tv. If that doesn't work try a different HDMI cable. I haven't heard of a global reset fixing this issue but its worth a try if it's your last option. Let me know how it turns out.
This works up the point where you hit out (center button) it never saves the code. Once you get the right number of button presses you can hit power and volume buttons and everything works but once you hit ok you lose your settings. Go to Network & Internet --> Available Networks and click your connected WiFi network to see what your Stream's IP address currently is. Download and install adblink In adblink enter your Stream's IP address in the "Ad Hoc IP" field. Click "Connect". You'll be prompted to accept the connection on the Stream itself - accept it and also remember the device if prompted. Once adblink reports that you are connected click "ADB Shell" Copy and paste the following commands in the terminal window: pm disable-user --user 0 com.uei.uas.tivo reboot Once you have done this engage in a code search via this guide on Tivo's website. If you find a code that works (you can also enter codes manually) press the center select button to save it. Put the remote back in pairing mode via Tivo + Back button. It will then pair to the device as before, but the stored code will not get overridden as the UEI app won't feed the wrong code to the remote (or no code at all). If anyone is trying an avr receiver, I finally got mine. You have to do the process above that John posted. Then to do a search for avr, I held the Tivo and volume up button until the red light came on then entered 1999. Then click volume up every 2 seconds until your receiver mutes. Once it does, check the volume up/down and mute button to see if they work. If they do, click the select button to save. Took me about 50 tries to get it, but finally worked. You may have to start the process over if the red light sticks and finally goes out. Hope this helps someone.
My dog tore up my original remote, so I ordered 2 replacements. 1 came yesterday, so I tried the auto pairing and everything worked except the volume and mute. I did the code search, locked it in and it worked perfectly. The 2nd remote came today. I did the code search, locked it in and nothing works except the volume and mute??? Tried several times, getting the same result. Tried the global reset and then another code search and lock it, but the same result. When I press any button other than the volume or mute, I get the amber light flashing like it is searching??? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Without the tv brand you'll have to go through every tv code available. Tivo 4k now has an on screen remote setup. If you give me the model number or brand i can do some digging for you.
There is no back button to turn it back off,and how do expect to show it correctly when you fingers hide the buttons while you are saying press back button to turn it off

How? It doesn't respond. It doesn't do anything. It keeps looping at the startup. You know when the word "android' is supposed to form,but it doesn't the animation keeps tumbling/repeatedly. 🤷♂️
Try a different power source. Are you using the USB port on your television? Try plugging into a standard outlet and see what happens. If the problem persists after that try doing a factory reset. Of course we want this to be the last option.

Not sure. I searched most of the message boards and no luck. I think TiVo is aware of this issue because they mention it specifically in a 30 minute survey they sent me on this product.

This doesn’t work for me. My volume and mute buttons worked for a few days, and then stopped working. I’ve tried unpairing and repairing the remote several times, and resetting the remote. The power and input buttons still work. I’m using my TV speakers. TiVo chat has no idea when an update will be available.
I just spoke with TiVo support and they are giving me the instructions for manual programming, which based on the comments here is not reliable for this device. Most devices like this have on-screen programming so I assume they haven't noticed this missing function yet. I've been looking over help pages for TiVo and Android devices all I can suggest is to try a method designed for a TiVo remote control. My paired remote got destroyed I bought the same remote and I’m having issues with manual set up. The prompt doesn’t display when I hold the button on the TiVo or the remote.
I finally used a fire stick 4k remote that was setup with my tv. I paired that so I can use power and volume buttons. You need the power and volume to be setup before pairing it to the TiVo by long holding the home (ten seconds then it blinks)
I paired my Fire Stick 4k remote as well. But I found when it's paired, it's you need to bring up the keyboard for anything, the keyboard won't open until the FS remote is unpaired. All good until I need to enter something on keyboard.

I have a samsung smart TV and I use some of the apps on that, that aren't available in my Tivo stream 4k. It automagically set up my remote for me and I can control the power and volume, but the directional pad doesn't work for navigating around in my TV's menus. the input button on the remote brings up the tv menu, but I can't do anything else but switch inputs. Anyone know if there a way to get the tivo's directional pad to work with the TV menu instead of just the Tivo?

Easier way it’s a small button on the back of the TiVo 4K box , push that for a couple of seconds then the pairing screen will pop up on your tv, and will show you exactly what to do

My Roku tv was already working when I finished setup. Not sure if TiVo sent over my settings or it has a handshake with Roku (tcl) TVs.

TiVo has upgraded their interface so you should be able to program a new remote via the on screen prompts

Thanks man. I just added the hue HDMI sync box and the TiVo remote no longer controls volume. But power still works. This is odd. Any thoughts?
Unplug it from tv and power then plug it back in. Idk but it worked for me. Crazy

I’ve done all the steps but I still can’t repair the remote
I followed the steps and still cannot control TiVo with the remote. I can only turn my tv on and off with the TiVo remote. No volume nor control over the actual TiVo
It's a new remote and it keeps blinking help even the customer service couldn't help and they sent .e the dang remote

On tv turn on cec setting
Same here. It controls the power and input but will not control the volume. I even have the cec settings turned on. Even tried with cec settings off and still the same results.
Dan I already has the simplink cec mode on. No go for me.
Mine is now working correctly. A full reset did the trick.
@@noles200 unplug from tv and power then replug. Idk worked for me numerous times on different TV's. Eventually it will link up. I promise u this
