Joe Burns - Yankee In The South (feat.

Kicking off September, here is the second of the two songs I recorded with my former professor, Dr. ‪@joeburnsphd9387‬ !
This is an original tune that he wrote. He comes from Ohio, and moved down to Louisiana in 1999 when he began working at the college I eventually graduated from. He explains in the video that everything he learned about Southern culture, and there are a lot of references that my Louisiana friends/followers/fans will understand completely.
I first heard him playing the song in August 2019 when he performed it on a livestream for the school's radio station. Immediately, I began writing a slide part for the song. I presented it to him in April 2021, and two years later, we decided to record it.
I told him he needed to sing the song as 1. He wrote it and 2. I've lived in Louisiana all 32 years of my life. I couldn't sing it!
We hope you enjoy this collaboration as much as we did making it! I hope he comes back on the channel in future.
