I just bought this intake and installed it on my 2008 fa5. This video was very help! Vtec sounds a lot louder and the power band is way better.

Thanks for the video! I just bought and installed my own today. It was my first time working on my car. Easier than I expected. Your engine bay is way cleaner than mine (Canadian car with lots of salt on the roads, had to deal with some seized bolts and rusted out clamps).
Glad it helped. I miss this intake, but I am cai now. Mine is only cleaner because I don't drive it in the snow and rust lol. Would love to visit Canada one day

What size of hose did you use for coolant bypass line and then the other size hose for the valve cover?

waddup Gerb I just go a yonoka exhaust installed and thinking next about getting an intake or headers that compliment it well. What do you suggest i go with to keep da yonoka from getting raspy.
Just got a Sri. Bought it used so I don't have coolant hose. Like what is the coolant hose conversion for? Is it necessary? Thanks in advance.
hey i know this an old video and hopefully someone could help but at the end when you show off the intake installed that bottom hose you clamp down where can i find one i purchased an si with this same intake and the bottom hose wasn’t installed on the vehicle

What were the sizes of the hose? The one off the crank case, to the elbow and the one connecting to the intake? Mine got mis placed during the engine swap and i got a huge vacuum leak please help me find the correct sizes bro
Looking good. I just wrapped my short ram piping with gold reflective tape to help keep it cooler. Spotted Cromwell on the side of the trucks. About 40 minutes from me.

Nice video bro ! dId that throttle body spacer do anything? And after u installed your SRI did you reset your ECU. By taking the fuse out for couple min. It has to relearn your idle.
+Derrick D Thanks my dude! Better throttle response with maybe like 1-2 hp/tq. I just had my battery unplugged, didn't take a fuse out or anything

Nice! I’m gonna install the one that came with my CSX Type S. I bought a stock Civic Si airbox to put it on to pass instpection at the Canadian Border. I’m gonna have a carbon fiber pipe fabricated for my Mugen airbox because the Si and CSX Type S has a MAF sensor and the Type R FD2 that the Mugen is for does not have a MAF sensor so no holes for the hoses on the Mugen Airbox. ❤ The Typhoon will do for now until I get that part fabricated for the Mugen Airbox. I can finally put it on because K&N sent me my replacement carb legal sticker for free. Booo California.

Nice tutorial. But if I was doing it, I would have left the MAF sensor inside the assembly until I'm ready to swap it in the new intake. Reason being, I'm paranoid about those sensors being so delicate. So, I would just unplug it, and then remove the tube it's in and wait until I'm ready. Leaving the sensor on the dirty intake manifold isn't wise.
What was the link to that k&n setup by chance?

It’s probably asking for a security code. Check the side of your glove compartment, your code should be there.

Most likely different due to intake locations.
What’s the purpose of the k&n coolant bypass? Is it mandatory?
It's mainly to heat the throttle body up to prevent sticking in the very cold months. It is not mandatory

Was that lower hose at 2:26 really hard to take out? Mine seems like it was one piece couldn't take it out.

AFTER INSTALLING MY SHORT RAM MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON BECAUSE THE FUEL TRIM WAS TOO HIGH DUE TO EXCESS AIR COMING THROUGH.

Gerb Productions i was running an AEM short ram but now i got in contact with AEM and theyre sending me the one you installed as a replacement to see if the issue stops because when i put the stock back on and connected my computer data showed back to normal with fuel trims very close to 0%

Your going to feel a little power loss at low rpms but get some gains up top, the sound alone will be worth it.
Yeah Flashpro will smooth power out, I have an SRI and run a Skunk2 Raceheader no tune and it smashes.
Sorry if I missed it but what's the purpose/is it necessary to replace that coolant hose? Just ordered one of these and I'm pumped. Thanks for the vid.
+B Murr I don't think that it is necessary, but I would recommend using the one that the intake provides you with. Seems like a better fit anyways. You will love this man!
Hey man I was wondering if you knew anything about k24a2 engine blocks. I blew a rod in my k20z3 and plan to do a frank swap. I think I want to swap an a2 in it and keep my heads. I was looking at an 06-08 k24a2 with 143k miles for $1000. Do you think this is a good deal?
+sswany I know that our heads should bolt on to a k24a2 block. How'd you do that? That's a pretty decent deal man. I know the k24 makes good torque as well. I think you will loose revs in the top end though changing the block
Gerb Productions yeah I will lose revs but I think the fg2 with more torque will be awesome and it will lose power after 7800 so no need to rev it out that much. Idk if 143k miles is too much though
Hell yeah. I was thinking about a k24, but I like the z3 block. I'm just going to stick with that with full bolt ons. If i can get 150/160 tq out of it n/a, i will be stoked. I would find one with less miles if i were you.
Gerb Productions do you think I should swap the full k24 or do the frank build? I read that the 06-08 tsx engine heads are just as good as the z3's. Idk what to do I miss my Si. Yeah 140k is a lot, I'm gonna keep looking
Nah, frank build. The one thing i like about the k24 engines is you can pick them up cheaper than a z3 engine. I would build the z3 head and put a k24 block. Just keep looking, lmk how you make out

hey herb. I just installed my intake (just like the kn) and noticed that it made really loud sucking noises while just daily driving, around 3-3.5k shifts. Is my intake leaking? or does your make that aggressive noise as well?
