Spoken like a true authoritarian. I'm not a lawbreaker. If you have nothing to hide, I guess you won't mind the police searching you illegally? Oh wait, people have rights ... right? Maybe people don't like abusive police? So you're a lawbreaker if you don't appreciate abusive police? This wouldn't have happened if APD did their jobs correctly. I'm an American who believes in freedom and citizens' rights. But to you, I'm a lawbreaker? How about you move to China or Russia -- you would love it over there. People don't have the same freedom we have here. You should appreciate it more. But instead of blaming the police for screwing up, you blame the citizens' for wanting better policing, like a true authoritarian.

As a minimum. That doesn’t include stops where an illegal search turned up something. They were brought in to help with illegal street takeovers. They stopped three, didn’t stop a bunch more. Basically, they turned on the citizens who asked for help because they’re not able to do what they were asked to do in the first place. Stop street racing.

It would be nice if these aclu people would be as concerned with the safety of law abiding citizens in these areas who have their lives disrupted by selfish people. Look at Portland, Seattle, Detroit , Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York to name some of the biggest issues of civil liberties being violated by little terrorists.

DPS? The same DPS that allowed 19 elementary and 2 teachers bleed to death because they were to chicken shit to risk their own lives to save other people. Congrats Austin, just played yourself.

I also watched the Perry ordeal. The protester came to Perry's vehicle. If you come up to a person holding a gun what do you think with all those blm protesters surrounding his car with nowhere to go he's going to do? I am thankful Abbott will free him as should never have been charged. I was shocked to hear it in the first place. Austin Houston are liberal but look at the crime there

Of course, the Uvalde incident wasn't transparent. It was a federally planned and run operation. How do you have that many US Marshals on the scene, without federal coordination? Is the US Marshals Service Headquarters across the street? And how about Nancy Pelosi's friend who is a serial "at the scene person" in so many of these shootings? How does she know when and where to take her "vacation" so that she will be on the scene of so many shootings? How "coincidental".

Why is their a cause for concern? What the city of Austin is doing along with DPS is a good thing. Unless you want that city turning into other cities and states like California, where they have no control over it, at all. Savannah kumar is only making this a political and liberal issue instead of focusing on the hard facts, solid numbers, and doing what needs to be done.
