Introducing the most easy-to-use multi-effects unit yet, the entry-level REMIX-STATION 500 (RMX-500) pioneerdj.com/english/pressrelease/entry/entry.php?ent=201401221
9 ears after what you was expect not apen, why be cause to expensive. You know most of the dj aren't professional they dj for fun or mini or rare event or bed room and for the price in this world 2decks 1mixer or controler do the job.
only seen Videos playing dance, electro music etc using this gear, I have this and I only play roots/culture reggae and the rmx500 allows me to take my music to a higher level, My setup 2xcdj2000nex,1xdjm2000nex,1RMX 500,RMX 1000 Murder
Can the drums be used as on-off drum shots? Or does the overdub feature automatically loop it? I've seen plenty of DJs, Maceo Plex for example, using the RMX1000 for drum hits, rather than creating a drum loop.
The RMX-500 seams much better than the RMX-1000. The RMX-1000 doesn't have any features that you'd miss on the RMX-500 except the Isolate FX and the X-PAD. Am I missing something? Are you going to release a new flagship remix-station soon - RMX-2000 or something similar that will include the best features from RMX-1000 and RMX-500 and possibly any other completely new features?
The RMX-1000 benefits from balanced Jack connections, the ability to process effects across three bands, the ability to load your own custom samples, an SD-Card slot for taking samples and User settings with you, pitch control on the Drum Machine, the X-Pad, a three-step lever for release FX. But yes the RMX-500 also has some unique stuff and is easier to use and customise without software. We kept the fun stuff and tried to improve and simplify for a lower price.
From this video it seems that you have more control over the effects on the Rmx-1000, but then again actually playing with the thing is different story. Kinda wish some of these features could get added on the rmx-1000 through an upgrade or something. Best thing about it.. cables come out through the side. ^_^
can you please explain me how i can have independent effects on each channel of my CDJs.. for example how can i have the effects of this Remix-Station only in the CDJ that plays live at this time and on the other not.! thank u!
I'm about to buy the DDJ SZ and I want to have a remix style station to compliment it. Please can you recommend the best one to use? Would it be this one? or the RMX-1000? I take it both are compatible with the DDJ SZ?
Yes, both are compatible with the DDJ-SZ. If you're getting a DDJ-SZ then you probably won't need an RMX, but that's completely up to you and how you want to perform. I've used the RMX-1000 but not the 500 (yet). The RMX-1000 has a wide range of effects, and you can also customize the parameters and whatnot on it via SD card. The RMX-500 looks a lot easier to learn on though, and most of the features like "overdub" and the Rhythm FX that come from the 1000 are a lot more consolidated and simple, needless to say that the RMX-1000 isn't. One of the things that I have a problem with on the RMX-1000, is the Scene FX and the unwanted echo that appears on most of them. With the RMX-500, you have an option to add an echo rather than being stuck with it. Another thing, in regards to the echo of the Scene FX on the 1000. is the fact that you can't see the parameters of the echo, but with the 500 you can. With the connections (inputs and outputs), the RMX-1000 has it down pat with one pair of both RCA and TRS on the in and outs, but the 500 however just has one pair of RCAs on the in and outs. The XPad on the 1000 and the Pressure sensitive knobs on the 500 compete a bit. With the XPad on the 1000, you have to leave your finger on the pad in order for it to activate, but if you want to leave the XPad on a eighth-note rhythm sample then you have to overdub it. If I am correct, the 500 helps this though with it being more mechanically activated rather than touch activated, so on the 500, all you would have to do is leave the sample in a position that produces eighth notes. Keep looking at tutorials and see which one would compliment YOU and not your set up.
It will connect to the DJM-350 via the master out. Connect the master output from the DJM-350 in to the input on the RMX-500. Then connect the output of the RMX-500 to your speakers. Make-sure you set the output switch on the 500 to 'Master'. Unfortunately the USB recording on the DJM-350 won't record the RMX effects as the effect signal goes straight from the RMX to the speakers.
Looks great but how do I hook this up to mixer with no send/return? I would want the effects processed after passing through the mixer. E.g if I was using Echo it should gradually phase out when I kill the relevant channel fader, similar to the built in effects on the DJM range. Cheers, James
Yes you may since the DJM-750 has SEND/RETURN connections however you don't have to use the SEND/RETURN connections and there are other set ups as well. To use your SEND/RETURN feature, you will need 2 pairs of mono RCA to 1/4 cables, or the respective adapters from RCA to 1/4 and vice versa. Located in the back of the mixer is the 1/4 Inch SEND terminal section which should be connected to the RCA input of the RMX-500, and then connect your cables from the RMX-500 RCA output to the 1/4 inch RETURN terminal section of your DJM-750. Make sure the Signal Level Switch is set to -10db and the Input/Output peak level indicators on the RMX-500 are either green or yellow. To activate SEND/RETURN, on your effects section of the DJM-750 and turn the effect selection knob to the "SND/RTN" function, use the channel in which you want to apply the effect, press the effect button and there you have it! If you have seen the Origin Sound performance of the RMX-500, they have each individual CDJ-2000 Nexus connected to an individual RMX-500. To do this is just as easy, plug the RCA outputs of the CDJ/Turntable to the RCA input of the RMX-500 and then plug the RCA output to either of the 4 channels RCA inputs of your DJM-750, and make sure that the Signal Level Switch is set to 0db, and the Input/Output peak level indicators on the RMX-500 are either green or yellow. If you would like to utilize your RMX-500 without sacrificing your effects unit on your DJM-750 then you can connect the MASTER OUT1 XLR or MASTER OUT2 RCA output of the DJM-750 to the RCA input of the RMX-500 and then connect the RCA output to your powered speakers or amplifier. Hope this helps! :D
Hi guys, howzit? I would like to know if it is possible to connect my laptop to the DJM 900 nexus to mix my acapella's and tools. I have 2 CDJ 2000 N already connected and would like to use the Laptop as a 3rd incoming chanell to the DJM 900. how can I set-it-up?
This would be possible. You can connect the mixer to your laptop with a USB cable and then use any DJ software to play back music through the mixer. You can select the channel you want to use on the mixer via the DJ software.
Yes both Tre Gaumond and of course Pioneer DJ are correct. Since the DDJ-SR does not have SEND/RETURN connections, you would need to connect the DDJ-SR master out to the RMX-500 input. The RMX-500 output would go to your powered speakers, or amplifier with speakers. In this case you need to make sure that the signal level switch on the RMX-500 is set to 0+dB setting. Keep in mind that with this setup, you will be apply the effects to anything that is outputting from the DDJ-SR. Hope this helps! My buddy actually has the RMX-1000, and he uses it with his DDJ-SR.
Since the DDJ-SX does not have SEND/RETURN connections, you would need to connect the DDJ-SX master out to the RMX-500 input. The RMX-500 output would go to your powered speakers, or amplifier with speakers. In this case you need to make sure that the signal level switch on the RMX-500 is set to 0+dB setting. He's also not using a controller in this walkthrough. He is using a standalone setup of two CDJ-2000 Nexus', one DJM-900 Nexus, and the new RMX-500, with a USB to Link connections, and Send/Return connections. I believe you were referring to the newest and last controller that Pioneer has released called the DDJ-SZ which will be available this month.
I have this product and for some reason I can only apply the scene fx and rhythm fx on the drum samples...the fx don't affect the music at all. What am I missing?
Hi Iris! Please ensure you have audio coming into the unit via SEND/RETURN. And ensure you've set the correct SIGNAL FLOW using the button in the middle.
Thanks for your reply. I'm using a DJM 350 mixer, and it's plugged into the master out. I also have my speakers plugged into the master out. Still not working.
Thanks for replying! Are you going from the mixer, into the RMX, then into your speakers? This is the signal flow needed to get the FX over your music as the DJM-350 does not have send & Return. This is why you're only getting drum samples coming out the RMX as I believe you have the input from your mixer coming into the RMX.
It will connect to any device that does not have send & return. This is done through the master output. Connect the master output from your controller in to the input on the RMX-500. Then connect the output of the RMX-500 to your speakers. Make-sure you set the output switch on the 500 to 'Master'. It cannot connect to a controller via USB & Does not have LAN.
Yes, and Pioneer DJ is of course correct. Since the DDJ-ERGO does not have SEND/RETURN connections, you would need to connect the DDJ-ERGO master out to the RMX-500 input. The RMX-500 output would go to your powered speakers, or amplifier with speakers. In this case you need to make sure that the signal level switch on the RMX-500 is set to 0+dB setting. Keep in mind that with this setup, you will be apply the effects to anything that is outputting from the DDJ-ERGO. Hope this helps!
The ultimate setup is an RMX-1000 on the Send/Return of your mixer and an RMX-500 connected to each CDJ before the mixer input. This way you can keep your 1000 ;-)
MrBannnnnny ohh.. i think you didnt get me right... i talked about the "Controller" that you said not the remix station... i think its the one of the XDJ products by pioneer.. look at theire website and try to find the most close XDJ/controller.
Pioneer DJ die zwei Kreise. Wär ich der Meinung das man wieder eins machen könnte, weil man hat da eher das gefühl das man von der Remixstation beobachtet wird. Das kann ein sehr verwirren.

Love those monitor stands, what brand are they please ?
can't buy new anymore, any word on the next variation??? very excited for it
Can the drums be used as on-off drum shots? Or does the overdub feature automatically loop it? I've seen plenty of DJs, Maceo Plex for example, using the RMX1000 for drum hits, rather than creating a drum loop.
Good stuff guys ..,but seems like the same with the RMX -1000.,has identical function, all those things you can do with that. However, it's cool!!!
I'm using RMX 1000, I Liked this one.... But which one you support? RMX 1000 or 500??? What

Will rmx 500 work with djm350? Also does all the effects can be recorded since djm 350 has an usb port to direct record your mixes
It will connect to the DJM-350 via the master out. Connect the master output from the DJM-350 in to the input on the RMX-500. Then connect the output of the RMX-500 to your speakers. Make-sure you set the output switch on the 500 to 'Master'.

an awesome dj device !!!
I understood one part and it was awesome! The rest was a foreign language. I wish it could be explained differently somehow- like for dummies.
Plenty of videos which teach fundamental electronic music production
I'm still rocking the efx 500 like most djs
I will buy one!
Now this i am 85% sure i am getting.

Just read your past comments @Pioneer DJ, if it was plugged into my master out how could apply the effects to just one channel and not all?
Find a way to make this work and I'll order tomorrow
We have passed on your comments. thank you.
This can be used even with a Pioneer DDJ-WeGo to mix anywhere?
i'm sure this has been answered already, but can this be connected to the DDJ-SX? thank you
Yes. For more information check out the Pioneer DJ support site pioneerdj.com/support/product.php?c=725&lang=en&p=RMX-500&t=faq

Shut up and take my Money!
Awesome
Can I use this with sb3?
Can I please ask what speaker stands your using and the stand for the RMX500. Cheers.
Can I hook up the rmx 500 to the pioneer RX3
When will be released in Italy and how much will it cost?
Great!
Hello does this works with de DDJ-SX and the new DDJ-SZ? (:
Yes, on the master out.
Can this be used with Logic Pro as im producing an Effects unit?
When will be released in Italy and how much will it cost? Pioneer DJ
RMX-500 is available from February 2014 it will have an SRP of EUR 399/GBP 339, including VAT.
will it work with ddj-sx
and what kind of controller is he using in this video
Since the DDJ-SX does not have SEND/RETURN connections, you would need to connect the DDJ-SX master out to the RMX-500 input. The RMX-500 output would go to your powered speakers, or amplifier with speakers. In this case you need to make sure that the signal level switch on the RMX-500 is set to 0+dB setting. Does anyone use this with music production hardware setups ( drum machines, sequencers, synths, loopers, etc...) ?!?
Or is this best just for DJs?
Mang get the ableton push 2.
I'm pretty sure I already know the answer but will this word with my DDJ-SZ
how well would this work with an XDJ-R1? Im looking at that as my next move, with the RMX 500
It might help you to speak with other users at forums.pioneerdj.com/home they can give you advice on what and how you want to use it.
nice work on XDJ-RX ?
They have authorized store in Colombia or Panama where I can buy online?
check out the pioneerdj website for your local Pioneer HQ
is an update with included looper foreseable?
This is cool, but it's still too expensive, and no SD input?
Can you use the RMX-500 with a pioneer DDJ-SB???
Yes, you can use it on the Master Output. Both our RMX units can be switched between Master or Send/Return mode.
so you can't assign this to different channels on your mixer? It just effects the whole mix??
Depends how you route it
nice tabel
Why was this pulled from the market?
what is it compatible with?
Cool !!! ;)
can this be connected to the DJ 4set ? thank you
More fx then rmx 1000!
Can the effects be applied to each individual channel instead of the "master" output. if so how
+deejayshmoove you need the send/return on your mixer ;)
Does it work with the new PIONEER SZ ?
Yes, on the Master Output. But none of the DDJ range feature Send/Return.
I would like to see Laidback Luke performance with this new rmx500
I can't agree more with this statement! Pioneer DJ can you make this happen please?! Where are you Laidback Luke? lol
Is there any chance to connect via USB/LAN to a controler? If not where do I put it? Between controler and mixer?
It will connect to any device that does not have send & return. This is done through the master output. Connect the master output from your controller in to the input on the RMX-500. Then connect the output of the RMX-500 to your speakers. Make-sure you set the output switch on the 500 to 'Master'. It cannot connect to a controller via USB & Does not have LAN.
Pioneer DJ
Cheers :)
porbly a stupid question, but can this hardware be used w/the DDJ SR?
Ian Clay Yes you can find details here pioneerdj.com/support/product.php?lang=en&p=DDJ-SR&t=faq
You wouldn't have the send/return, so they would act as a master FX.
Does it work with the DDJ-ERGO??? Please!
yes
on master out.
Tucker Mathis Muchas gracias! ;)
Jorge Luviano de nada mi amigo.
Is this device more compatible with pioneer DDJ SX?
Both the RMX-1000 and RMX-500 can be used in 'Master Out' mode and connected between the controller and the speakers.
Thanks for clarifing!
diz iz Killa.... but I guess its gonna be long before I gt ma Hand on it....

The ultimate setup is an RMX-1000 on the Send/Return of your mixer and an RMX-500 connected to each CDJ before the mixer input. This way you can keep your 1000 ;-)
