Which other diamond abrasives have you used? There are quite a few on the market that are much less expensive and don't use poly diamond that decreases in size ,as you use it. Doesn't keep its original micron size. Works similar to what all poly diamond compounds do, that have more of quantity of poly diamond than most diamond compounds.

I have used the Venev CBN and the Chefs Knives to Go emulsions both are more than fine if that’s more your cup of tea

The reason why I asked that question is that all that you have responded to, are all oil based abrasives. Which in turn translated into very low concentration of abrasives.

@@abrahamkalichman6845 the CKTG are not oil based they are nonhydrophobic suspension although they do make pastes as well. There are also plenty of other people making stropping compounds even if they aren’t well known there’s a few on instagram and a couple of knife shops do, I think I’ve even seen some on Etsy. I’d shop around and see what best fits your desired specifications.

Gunny juice is available on Amazon as well. This is the cheapest way to get it here in down under.

You can get it at DLT as well. I use it most on basswood for the 12, 9, and 6 micron. And leather for the 3 and. Great product

I've been planning on giving these a shot once my current stuff runs out. That'll be a while though, Venev gives you SO much paste in their jars.

Been putting off diamond paste for a long time. Usually refine the apex on the stone to where it deburrs on the corner of a cardboard box. Obv that takes a lot of time and patience so i think dia paste is good on the go. Should pick some up for work.

The 12 is great for stropping back a dull edge and the 6 is good for off the stones

So many options to choose from its not even funny. I need some more myself, was thinking either gunny juice or stroppy stuff. Can't decide.

Never tried stropping stuff but gunny is great

Stroppy stuff works amazing especially for the value. Max the owner of the company is a very nice and knowledgeable guy. I cannot compare it to gunny tho, but I am ordering some GJ next week. If you pick up some stroppy stuff, careful with the 4 micron! It's great to get a quick polish but you can roll the edge if you aren't careful. Cuts very fast! 0.5 or 1 micron rock for touch ups. I'm Def excited to try rhe gunny juice though! His other products like the glide, shines etc are phenomenal 🔥

@@codyshannon24 I’ve heard a lot about stroppy stuff and I’m gonna have to check them out

@@codyshannon24 to avoid rolling the edge use a material without any give. If you want to use leather use kangaroo, as its thin and doesn't have much give. Or use bass wood, etc.
