I got to watch the fan screening on 9th too! Got all 3 signed posters and yes, the movie was amazing. Your Name is Shinkai-Sensei's masterpiece, but i agree that Suzume is a fantabulous movie. Loved watching it and the animation was mindblowing. The movie was so smooth flowing and enthralling that even my 6 year old kid enjoyed watching it despite being in Japanese audio.

Found it listed on bookmyshow when i was booking tickets for Mario. So went ahead and booked tickets for Suzume. Didnt know it was a fan-screening until after i finished buying the tickets and googled to find out how and why it was airing before its official release on 21st.

It's very good but not a masterpiece, we shouldn't use this word so casually, Suzume was great but the love between her and the chair really weren't that emotionally moving at all, it's plot is not as consistent as Your name either.

For me suzume is a great movie but it's not better than your name. 1st of all your name is 100% of Taki and mitsuha but it's better because of it's story telling and direction.Your name blown everyones mind because it's surprising story in the other hand suzume is not that surprising. Yah you are right suzume is great but Your name is something different , something that no one is expecting.At the end the concept seems similar as your name, weathering with you but with different story :)

I am in Australia and I watched the movie first day first show, I cried of enjoyment
I was also one of the guys to watch the movie on 9th April.
Rajat I want to know , why did the cat's nature changed . From start it was just creating havoc and later on it became a nice character who was helping suzume as well.

*********************SPOILER ALERT*************THE CAT WAS VERY HAPPY TO BE ABLE TO PLAY WITH SUZUME AND SAW SOUTA AS AN OBSTACLE AS SUZUME LIKES HIM SO HE PUTS CURSE ON HIM SO THAT HE WILL DISEAPPEAR AND CAT CAN STAY WITH IT BUT THEN SUZUME SAYS SHE HATES THE CAT WHICH MAKES IT VERY SAD AND MAAKES IT REALIZE THAT SHE CANT BE LOVWED BY SUZUME AND THEN CAT SEEING SUZUME SAD FOR LOSING SOUTA IT TRIES TO HELP HER
Watched Suzume and in my completely subjective opinion(pls don’t kill me),the film focused on Suzume’s internal conflicts for a majority of the show and imho missed out on a lot of exposition when it comes to the overarching lore. Firstly, the cats, daijin and kadaijin, seems like they have something to do with the deeper lore of the story but none of that was explored and as such, their motivations felt kinda off to me. Like as in the main conflict brewed in the ever after and kadaijin smhw got released from his seal and daijin got released by suzume and the both of them brought Suzume to the ever after so she could fulfill some kind of destiny?? and Souta was just meant to be a temporary seal? Welp ig that was about it for the plot. I really wished they had set apart more screentime to explore what the entire conflict was in the first place, what was the worm was and why does every shinkai film has to have a certain conmection to a natural disaster(earthquakes in this case). Welp i hope we get to see more of this shinkai verse next time.

To be honest I couldn't appreciate this movie, this movie had some really good visual, very good music but some where it lacks in the writing department.
For me it seems like lazy writting but non the less it was a good experience but not the best work of Makoto Shinkai (definitely not a masterpiece, atleast for me)
