That is a nice setup, do you know how much the rack weights? Also, after installing a RTT on the rack, can you also install lights with that rack system?
Hello. The BackBone system (32lbs) with the three bar roof rack (18lbs) weighs a total of 50lbs. Rhino-Rack makes an LED light mount that may work in this situation, here's a link to details: www.rhinorack.com/en-us/products/australian-made/australian-made/australian-made/va-and-hd-led-light-brackets_43174
Mine didn't come with the red quick release vortex bars for some reason. You use the key in the same place to access a single bolt, but when you remove it it is flat, rather than needing that cap.
@@jcs5202 Thanks for the clarification. I di have the JL and though I haven't tested it yet, I believe they somewhat "quick release" too, you just remove the small bolt that goes into the base, behind the lock. That would just be 6 quick bolts to remove to take off the bars and attached rooftop tent, if you're using it for that.
With the bars taking seconds to remove I would always suggest uninstalling the cross bars just for the "in case something goes wrong" factor. That being said, besides maybe how you grip the hardtop, the bars should only be adding a little weight not making removal a huge burden! For sure don't lift the hard top via the bars "Egyptian" style.

Absolutely. In fact, you can take it all off TOGETHER if you have a hoist that will lift it all. This is the biggest benefit vs the exoskeleton racks. This comes off in between trips!
@@Primaltac You leave it on the top when you remove it. The only option for a rack with the top removed is the exoskeleton style, which would be a big pain removing it and the top and then reinstalling it the rack.

Can you mount an ikamper 3.0 mini to these rails?

I bet you your legs are the low profile RCL6, which are 37mm low. The VORTEX crossbars for JK come stock with taller RLT and RTL600 legs

would this work with the Skye One Touch top?
Good question will this work with the one touch sky roof on new JLU???
Yes it works very well
How easy is it to remove the roof with this rack installed?

Any one have the part number for the quick release mounts? I want to add them to my Pioneer Platform.

Can you take the hardtop off still?
im still looking for a roof rack where we can take off the whole top
